My first time on Nusa Penida, this whole time it’s been a tease since I had spent so much time on Nusa Lembongan, I longed for a visit to its big sister, Penida. The island is WAY bigger than I thought, so a day trip from Bali or even Lembongan is not enough to truly enjoy this island, spend a few days here so you can take your time and not feel rushed. I really lucked out with my stay at Tara Hostel, Junior, the owner was beyond fabulous. He picked me up from the boat and gave me the most epic tour of the island’s west side for a very affordable rate. I felt like I had a local friend who showed me the ropes and ensured I was cared for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! As for the sites, incredible, this island is so lush and full of life. Kelingking Beach, although touristy, is still a MUST SEE, with the most beautiful view. I got so lucky with the weather too, you can see at the beginning of the day it was grey but then cleared up so I could get this amazing view. All in all, I really enjoyed my time in Penida. Off to Lombok! -xo
