Hello and welcome to another video!
Today we’re going to be recreating a recipe that we saw going viral on tiktok last year: the mac & cheese milkshake! We thought that cheese foam on bubble tea was good when we tried it on this channel, and cheesecake is good too (hey - cheese is good in general, right?), so this recipe might not be all that bad, even if it was originally intended to be an April fool’s joke.
So bring on the dairy - we’re making a Mac & Cheese Milkshake! Let us know how you think we did, and if you might want to try this lactose heavy delicacy.
Also PS - we had a slight complication with our camera on set, so the wide shot is a little soft focused. We tried to fix it in post, but it is still a little noticeable. So sorry about that, and it's not your eyes playing a trick on you!

As a Canadian, I can assure you, Kraft is indeed that ubiquitous. I don't know a single person who didn't grow up eating Kraft. If you hear someone refer to mac and cheese in Canada, they're most likely referring to Kraft.

@@kellynaz9256 I know it’s a thing, I was just talking specifically about Parmesan ice cream. I watched a documentary once where they talked about it and a menu had it being served in between courses rather than as a dessert which leads to think it was used as a pallet cleanser or to aid in digestion (believed to anyways).

In the Philippines, Cheese is a common ice cream flavor! And its not like cheesecake or creamy cheeses (like mascarpone) but it's the salty processed cheese! it's really good. it's a nice salty taste that blends well with the richness of the ice cream. so im not surprised that this makes sense! but the cold pasta... does sound a little offsetting HAHAHA

I don't have ice-cream very often, and even when I do, there aren't many adventurous options, especially in my price range. But I did have an apple flavour when I went on holiday that was really nice.

Kraft's version of mac and cheese here in Canada is actually called "kraft dinner" and it's kinda a weird sub-genre of mac and cheese haha. I certainly wouldn't go as far as calling it our national dish, but it is quite popular. Loved all the Canada jokes! I would kill to ride a moose.

here in the Philippines, we actually have what we call the cheese ice cream or queso/keso ice cream. and it is one of the top flavors of ice cream in our country. we just love cheese on our desserts. 😁

growing up in Canada the biggest thing we were taught repetitively is to NEVER mess with a moose. if there is a deer on the road, its dangerous to swerve and probably safer for you to hit it, but if there is a MOOSE on the road, your only chance of surviving is swerving off yourself lol

my initial thought at a kraft mac and cheese ice cream would have been to put the cheese from the box into the ice cream maker to have true cheese flavored ice cream. i probably would have just used the pasta as garnish but I like how you guys really enjoyed it in the milkshake itself

there’s actually an indian milkshake called ‘faluda’ which has vermicelli in it, so the concept of noodles in a milkshake actually works really well!

this reminds me of the time i made mac and cheese accidentally with my vanilla almond milk instead of the unflavored unweetened one (i'm mildly lactose intolerant so while most milk products are okay for me like yogurt just milk isn't) and it actually tasted really good! more savory than sweet but somehow still balanced well between the two. i never purposely made it again but the next time i'm craving boxed mac and cheese i'll consider trying it again

Considering the first ice cream (faloodeh) is frozen noodles with cream and syrup, and the first modern ice cream made in France used cheese as the main flavour, it makes perfect sense why mac and cheese milkshake would work. Honestly traditional ice cream needs to make a comeback, so many good flavours are lost in time and people now think it's "weird" for the most silly of reasons. Of course cheese ice cream would be amazing! Cheesecake and cheese tea is considered great even by modern sensibilities. And noodley deserts are always fab.

Recently I went to Salt & Straw where I tried both pear & blue cheese ice cream (delicious!) & Goat cheese & black olive ice cream (just tasted like goat cheese, which I like, but it was a little much as an ice cream). Theyve also done other "weird" cheese combos in the past!

My lactose, intolerant soul is crying 😭 I literally grew up eating mac & cheese, and then like six months ago I became lactose intolerant? It’s painful to watch this video. To get all the yummy cheese sauce outta that packet, put a lid on the pot, with the packet still 99% inside the pot-just hold a small corner of it outside of the enclosed pot/lid-then holding down the lid, pull the packet through all the way-you will get every last liquid gold drop out and have pretty clean hands after

As a Canadian citizen I can say, Kraft dinner is THE MOST popular food amongst everyone I know. I just ate a whole box out of the pot for the third time this week. Me and all my friends eat it several times a week. Afterschool hungry? KD. Dinner hungry? KD. Hungry? KD. The answer is always KD

There is some logic to this recipe. You can stew pasta (we have this thing in Sweden that translates to “milk stewed macaronies”, and in Eastern Europe it is common to eat pasta with milk in a bowl (no, I’m not joking). Since ice cream and cheese is dairy it could work… 🤷‍♀️.
