Yes the footage of the traffic we showed in this video is calm. We didn't get a chance to capture some of the craziness we experienced. I flew through Qatar twice in the past three months, but sadly didn't have sometime to get out to explore. We will be someday, tho. I can't imagine how hot it would be in the summer, and AC is your friend for sure. We've been to Jordan where we explored all around the dessert, and also recently in Peru, and I must admit that dessert is a foreign, but interesting landscape for us. Yes, Qatar is an expensive place in my mind, so it would be interesting to experience it ourselves. Thanks for sharing it with us, Elisa and David! Love seeing that you were displaying your own channel in the background LOL

Hopefully you'll get to explore here one day. I recommend coming during the cooler months if you do. We were actually suppose to be in Jordan a few weeks ago but had to cancel for obvious reasons. I remember when we first arrived in Qatar looking outside the plane and seeing all the sand. It was a strange feeling for sure. Yeah we thought looking at something behind us might be more interesting than a plain wall and maybe someone would be interested in one of the thumbnails and go watch haha.

Nice Video. In Qatar you need a filming permit to shoot outdoor videos, specially if you are showing buildings, tourist attraction, famous places etc. Do you have a permit for this videos?
@TheWorldnUs
@TheWorldnUs 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out our video. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it. We are aware that you need permission to film at many places in Qatar. This video was shot at our home with some footage taken from our family’s outings used as b-roll. As far as we know you don’t need a permit for all situations. To make sure we always ask staff at a location if it’s ok for us to film. We were given permission to use our camera to take photos and video at MIA, Souq Waqif and Zubara Fort during our visits and have used some short clips in this video. There are certain places where you need a permit in advance like at Katara. Oh and Government buildings are a big no no. We think one of the most important things is to be considerate of the people here. We are always respectful in this regard and you’ll notice no one besides our family is recognisable in our footage. One day we visited the National Museum of Qatar and again we asked if it was ok to film and they said yes it’s fine. There was a situation when one of our children was making a drink with a lady that was working at a food stall outside. It was a beautiful moment and I asked the lady if I could take a photo. She was happy for me to do this. We have no intention on sharing the photos publicly, it was more to capture the moment for our memories. I guess the point I’m making is that you can have permission to film and take photos but then you still need to respect every situation and other people’s privacy. Particularly women. I believe if your doing a proper film and have a crew, or are doing interviews then yes you would need a special permit to film outside. But I believe our type of content is ok while being considerate of the culture, being respectful towards the country and the people, and checking for permission. I hope this helps. If we’ve done something wrong in this video it was completely unintentional as we want to follow the laws. I also found this article from a reputable news source which talks a bit about vlogging in Qatar if you want to check it out. www.iloveqatar.net/news/general/vlogging-responsibly-in-qatar

Excellent health care here. Everyone can access Hamad Medical for just 100 qar per year. Then you pay a nominal fee for some services. Many employers will also offer private health insurance which we have for the whole family. Since moving here I’ve had braces for my teeth, physio on my knee and shoulder surgery which cost me nothing through my insurance. I also unfortunately had cancer while here and all my treatment was done through Hamad Medical for next to nothing. Some visits and scans I had to pay between 20-75 qar. Pleased to say I’m now cancer free.

No they don’t. Qatar is not as strict as other countries in the Middle East. There isn’t a set dress code either but we think it’s important to be respectful and at least cover legs and shoulders. If you’re visiting certain government buildings there are certain dress expectations and could be denied entry or asked to leave if not dressed appropriately. This goes for men and women.
