@@CoryPchajek If you really want to know, these terms were invented to indicate the roles within the animal world that other life forms have. In our world, these terms do not exist. There is no Alpha and Beta. Another thing is that these terms have been misrepresented. In the animal world and only the predatory one they have these terms. An Alpha predator means a predator that has no hunters, it is Alpha because no one can hunt it, it feeds on everyone and no one feeds on it. In the sphere that concerns the dinosaurs, there were many Alpha predators and Beta predators, they were shown to group and better study the animal world, that's all. As for the wolves, the pack is structured in roles, there is no Alpha wolf, there is the leading wolf of the pack, the one who leads the pack, the young wolves one day, those who are referred to by the ignorant mass as beta wolves, will take the place of the leader when he is gone, so they are not even beta wolves if we really want to specify. My definition of being a good man came from my grandfather. He worked at a mill grading lumber, boxed successfully, and trapped beaver, coyote, fox, and rattlesnake. He also raised pigeons, goats, rabbits and would care for any suffering animal from skunk to seagull. He always listened to and worked as an equal with my grandmother. I watched him snap a bobcat’s neck in a trap and I watched him weep openly when a sickly goat kid couldn’t be nursed to health. I strive to someday be as strong and gentle and openly accepting as him.

@@Professor__S ODD is a real disorder, and it often progresses to full blown ASPD in adulthood. I think the symptoms aren't really present well.... ODD is like pre-psychopathy, or it's ADHD mixed with a lot of aggression with little to no fear of consequence.

Honestly you should try it sometimes. It doesn't feel bad at all. Quite the opposite. Just make sure to wear as many clothes as you can and that your immunity is as good as it can be so you don't catch a cold or something. It's quite nice to enjoy a winter day like that.

And wisdom is a fleeting resource today. Self-control is all but gone in society. Some hope still remains for the individual though. I see it everywhere. People choosing a more honorable moral foundation. Like the foundations that freed nations, and created the meaning of liberty. But can individuals wake up to the fact. Their life, as the way they are taught to perceive and live their lives. Is a lie, and only going to imprison them spiritually and physically in cages of debt, and societal turmoil, and propaganda. My favorite quote. I have it tattooed on my back. "The free man is wise, and the wise man is free."

I'm a woman. And I am working hard on becoming a stronger woman. Embracing my natural femininity while also being self-assured, thick skinned, and hopefully one day free from anxiety which I honestly believe stems from being brought up in modern western culture. It's a rampant and vicious disease. Society needs strong people. Both men and women. I hope to one day be strong enough and feel deserving enough of an equally strong partner. I do not want to continue to settle for weak men because I myself have been weak.

Speaking as an anthropologist, I always loved reading these "alpha male" websites where they basically just try to be sociopaths. I see it at work all the time too. The problem is, the culture of being a leader or a defender disappeared as generations of parents gradually fell into corporate jobs and those companies no longer provided loyalty or a sustainable career. The people who are honest have to move around, and the people who cheat the system (act unsustainably) are rewarded. This bled into family life and so we no longer have models of sustainable men. Just corruption, and unsustainable or toxic power masquerading as strength. That's why we mint sociopaths and not men these days. The only solution is a return to balancing the population out with more people who work for themselves and not in bureaucracies. It honestly applies to women the same as men.

You've got it right. I feel like previous generations were able to "cash-in" on booming tech and a booming economy while still having some kind of relevant/virtuous society and culture to surround them and help them and keep them inspired and uplifted. Now, for the reasons you've explained (and others), that good society is gone; and chasing after another "cash-in" just isn't enough for real people who want a real society to be a part of. Technology and markets used to be made to serve us, now we are made to serve them/it. It's making us all sick.

Plus the emotional neglect we're all suffering. It's worse if you experience it from primary caregivers as children - neurodevelopment is negatively affected, & adapts that way. We need good, loving people... But we all have less time, less $, more stresses, still lots of stigma around mental health (esp from men).

@@Flusterette I agree with you but want to open a discussion about what you say about men and mental health. Let me first say you are totally right; there is a stigma around mental health and issues from childhood that certainly prevents a lot of people from being taken seriously. But there are so a lot of people who turn their problems into their core identity, and I also think that the "masculine" approach of dismissing pain and challenges has evolutionary behavioral benefit. In a situation where needs can't be met and things are terrible, a survival situation, people must ignore problems in order to focus on things that can be done. Kids learn this, or used to learn this, in sports. The team has a will and goal of its own and can't stop for every injury or injustice. Anyone (intelligent) who played team sports understands both the value and the destructiveness of this mindset, which is why people say sports teach life lessons but then have a hard time explaining exactly why. Plus, after a sports practice or game you are supposed to revert to a system of support and caring at home or at school. The difference between war/survival and sports is how long the period of strain lasts. Great societies have been born from this stoic mindset but that culture usually decays when the society starts to thrive. It has its place, in other words, but it is not a complete solution. At this point, I think society is falling apart because it isn't meeting reasonable needs. I think the reason so many people are pressing so hard on illegitimate needs is because there is no forum for legitimate needs. Your sexual/racial/etc. identity and issues are easier to discuss, actually, than the fact that the entire middle and lower class is failing. Bite sized problems therefore get put before the 800 pound gorilla in the room. And this causes animosity. I don't know how to resolve that but I think it would mean moving in a direction where we focus on common underlying issues and agree to face hard realities instead of relying on hope. If we can no longer afford healthcare or caring for our elderly in a human way, we need to acknowledge the system we are participating in of our own Accord is not working. I think that whenever this happens, the Left and the Right step in to confuse the issues and profit.

@@jonnordland7585 wisdom would be seeing the two scientific disciplines in tandem with others. The forest from the trees, the big picture. Anthro is the study of what makes us human, & physical behaviour is = to psychological motivation/intention. To be a good anthropologist, one would need to be curious about the way many factors intersect. But you talk like one can try not have the authority of one specialty, one way, without being seen as invalid. 😂

It's an elegant quote, but IMO it falls a bit short when put under scrutiny. Everyone of us lives according to a certain picture of what is right and wrong, and in the case of some people, especially those who had a problematic or even abusive upbringing, that picture might be severely skewed or full of contradictions. In that case "just being" can lead to very horrible consequences, since people might lack an innate sense of what is "good". So it is really important to reevaluate one's idea of what it means to be a good person from time to time. The sense of being a conscious individual is to live consciously - it is the only thing that can prevent us from ruining our lives by committing the same errors again and again. Btw. M.A. himself argued for constant mindfulness of ones actions, and I think that can also consist in talking and maybe even arguing with those we trust about the correct course of action from time to time.

@@Zachary- Do you really think M. Aurelius had no intellectual exchange with others? He wasn't a retired hermit but rather an emperor and thus in continuos contact with the senatorial elite, who - at least since the times of Cicero - engaged in philosophical and political debates as an integral part of their life. He had a huge corpus of correspondence, writing even multiple times a day to some friends. I think it is important to differentiate the Stoic ideal from the actual historical figure who tried to implement those ideals into their life. I think it might be for the better that he had a lot of exchange with others since he became a well rounded and prolific writer, which enabled him to express his ideas in such a way that they had a huge impact afterwards. Whether he wanted to publish the meditations is debatable, but the fact that they reached the public suggests that at least a certain group of people were aware of his literary production.

Stop begging and start treating men like men. Show the proper respect and let them know in multiple ways that being masculine is ok and will not be punished. Advocate and use your feet to change anti-male legislation in your community and keep following up as a community builder.

@@greenghost6416 Exactly! Don't beg, take responsibility for what feminism has done to men and what it can impose on men by law, and try to fix it. Not only do women have to take part in fixing this mess, they also have to be committed to it! No longer choose what you want, and take part in fixing it by committing to it, and not just taking responsibility for cleaning up the mess you've been involved in. So for justice to come, you must feel obligated to fix this mess and not just expect and favor. There is no amnesty. In this way, irresponsible people avoid consequences, on the principle that someone needs to be forgiven. There is no option to forgive or even forget without justice. Probably, however, due to convenience, women will not be able to decide on it, because in fact they only want to change the piece that does not suit them at the moment and leave those that suit them still and, above all, escape from their responsibility for supporting or passively watching activities while they still enjoyed it. This is not and will never be allowed!

The term "alpha male" is far too often used to describe people who are the total opposite. I agree 100% with the "immature" assessment; it seems to be less about being an "alpha" and more about behaving like a 13 year old boy. My personal favorite are the guys that'll smash a TV over a sporting event, can be goaded into a fight over almost nothing, and never miss a chance to "kick someone when they're down."

I totally agree! Which is why I never joined in on the Murphy dogpile. I am very familiar with the personalities that started pestering him originally, and they are very insecure, petty, and vindictive. They've done far worse than Jack ever has with far less provocation. Of course he shouldn't have swore at Sydney, but she could have read between the lines a bit and not pestered him with a comment from a troll. Not as bad as Murphy's tantrum, but still a mistake on her part.

Caring for the weak, even feeding the “little birds”, is masculine. I know you’re not a Christian, but biblical masculinity involves providing for your family and protecting the weak and defenseless. Being hyper aggressive is not masculine, it’s childish.

I came here just to say this. Part of being a man is helping those who cannot help themselves. Whether it’s feeding birds during the winter or stopping to change a tire for a little old lady or teenager who hasn’t been taught by anyone. Look after those who cannot look after themselves.

Did christianity use the term masculine to describe Jesus's characteristics. If you think about the Romans who killed Jesus and were interested in watching bloodsports could be perceived as more 'alpha'. The most common meaning for 'be a man' isn't 'protect the weak', it's crush and conquer. Honestly you guys need to stop obsessing over the term 'masculine' so much. It's honestly kind of childish. Just be a good person.

@@SynthCool You’re making the assumption that a Christian would think of a modern “alpha male” as masculine. I do believe the stereotypical “alpha” is not masculine from a Christian worldview. There’s not a ton of men who claim the title of Christian who live out their beliefs well. There is incongruity between Christian and non Christian masculinity, and I’ll be ok trying to live that. If it’s childish to discuss masculinity, why are you even voicing an opinion? After all, to be a “good person” within one’s given beliefs, one must live to their standards, which I some way must be established, including what constitutes a “good person”. You may think that different from my idea, and discussion and agreement or amicable disagreement can be reached to form or cement a civil society

I've heard people say mercy is not masculine and people say helping the weak is masculine and so forth to the point where it all boils down to what you personally believe is masculine is whatever you're secure with yourself

True masculinity comes in many forms. It's not about shutting out every emotional response and condemning every human action, it's about knowing when and where it's appropriate to express them. I wish there were more men like you in the world Bjorn, you are the example of how to carry yourself. Calm, collected, together. There is no need for bravado or extreme outbursts of anger to show how you feel about something. That's a mark of maturity in both sexes of course, but it is especially important as men because the draw to explode at times can be much greater, and the consequences thereof are more destructive.

Well put. I've always laughed at the overly-macho guys; just screams insecurity, one of the least manly traits. A real man, like you say, is calm, collected, and in control of his emotions. He is responsible, honorable, honest, trustworthy, reliable, and has the capability to or actually does provide. Most of all, he is someone he can honestly say he respects and is proud of.

Alpha male simply means being yourself and not conforming to what other people expect of you. It is just a way to differentiate from weak males who follow orders out of fear of not being accepted or liked. The overly-macho BS is anything but alpha.

to me, masculinity is synonymous with integrity. Not just surface integrity where you make it look like you're a good person to everyone else and behave differently behind closed doors, but doing the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing, and putting others that need you before yourself

Beautifully said. Be yourself, man or woman. There's a lot of detrimental conditioning forces that come from the environment and while they're not new I also feel they haven't changed or evolved much. And the only way to fix that is to just be yourself, which is easier said than done considering we're terribly attracted to what we're not

I heard/ read the same thing a while ago. It formed a part of ancient Greek physical training. I was watching a video on Tetrades, but I cannot remember who the quote it comes from. The idea was for a balance between balance and agility & strength and aggression. That is the way I took it anyway.

@@guts1258 you mistake the whole point. We can know that a knight falters in his duties because we know what a knight should be in the first place. Besides, most of our perception of the middle ages are written by a modern perspective and academics, who hold that age in contempt. You're thinking in absolutes. Its not to fully become a paragon, but to strive as best as you can to be that paragon. You'll falter, because its human, but you need to keep striving. I'll take that over the modern example of manhood anyday of the week, due to the modern paragon being just a hedonistic animal.

@@independentinstallations8419 I'm going to respectfully disagree. Men are in AVERAGE bulkier and stronger than women. That is true. But average means something different to "all women are weaker than all men". I hit the gym and do martial arts, and i know gals that are shorter than most of the boys and are significantly stronger. One is a professional weight lifter and she can bench press like a hundred kilos easily and doesn't looks like an Amazon. Like if anything she looks like a thinner, shorter, petite wonder woman. Her arms are thinner than mine, but she just has more training and technique in how to expert her strength. And let me tell you, she IS stronger than the average men on that gym. And let's not even talk about the gals in MMA. I'll bet you that those gals can reck any guy any time of the day. If you're a woman and you feel weak and unable to fend for yourself in an abusive setting, you should 100% learn self defense, work your body and forget about that crap of "men are stronger in average".

Exactly. Weirdly these 'alpha' males (and even some regular dudes) claim to be some all powerful men I should swoon for, when in reality they can't even handle basic survivability skills like cooking and hygiene (cleaning, laundry etc.) I was brought up in a farm that's in the middle of the forest, winters are harsh so there's no luxury of "male" or "female" work - everybody does everything. But then again I guess life in nature is beginning to be more and more an exception than norm.

Indeed. It starts & ends with the whole "cruddy-Alpha"-premise being based on studying wolves, & then the researcher realizing he got it all wrong afterwards... But, the flawed premise caught on like wildfire, to the point that the researcher explaining he was wrong & how behaviour of alpha wolves really works (nurturing, parenting, sensitive attunement to the individuals, supportive, caring) went relatively unnoticed. It didn't mitigate the harm of his initial flawed-premise.

So I'm not much about impressing others & following - I used to be a bit more that way, to my detriment; but I knew at least I'd learned something in retrospect. My best platonic & otherwise relationships are really intimate & deep. You have to do a lot of work on yourself for those. I still have struggles, though. I think some things, once they turn 'fad' -- something genuine is lost; if it has to be that 'novel' then I see it as a tool/accessory/aid, & novelties wear off. It's not permanent, however at the core (however lost in translation by people's perspectives) -- something is there, in common with greater humanity. It is in my favour that I liberated/healed myself (as best as I've been able to, thus far) eclectically & diversely. I tried to find those cores of truth that transcended, & applied them more raw & innately natural & pure to my self-examination. If you want to be your own person, & be genuine & down to earth, & be a good brave person as best as possible -- with conviction to do the hard thing & act on your morals no matter the hurt/sacrifice/consequence (as best as possible)... You need to examine yourself more broadly than just novel flavours, & strip it back. Experiment with the cultures, maybe some aspects enrich your life & connection with others... But see the bias, be aware, own it. Don't miss out by having the wool pulled over your eyes, over a dopamine & serotonin surge of the novelty factor, & stop there. That's how I think the word 'alpha' is being used these days. Branding. That's what appeals about cults! The conformity & distinct ways/beliefs of things. Strip it back to find the real nuggets of virtue & wisdom, though. 😊 Highway to hell is paved with good intentions. That said, some folks lack that capacity & have to be met where they're at, they like what they like, they're willfully ignorant. But: they're hopefully going to be different in a few years. There's ebb & flow. Phases are normal -- self exploration & experimentation. Folks who look to improve themself, even if in ways they laugh at a few years down the road, hopefully gain from their experience. But many will not, & it dissolves into a codependent, festering, abusive, trauma-bonded mental health fiasco, or a world of façade, & everything maladaptive in-between ranging from mild to extreme, "relatively harmless but not your cuppa tea" to "harmful with many falling for it, or raising their children that way." That's why good examples are so important, because as individualistic as we can be, we can't help that we learn by example & crave connection. We're social beings. Real selfhood transcends all that, & can see into another's soul through their eyes & attunement to them as one organism to another. That's why the simple things in life matter -- things are stripped back, free. This is where sensitivity has its strength. It cuts through bullshit. So as best as one can (pending the circumstances), taking the high road with dignity & respect of people, no matter what you think of the other person, will hopefully imprint subconsciously (& maybe also consciously). We have to be the change we want to see.

A lack of a father figure in their life likely accounts for alot of this , and it really is sad to watch . . I'm happy for you to have learned that. It's also called, simply, being a good human. I hope all young men and women learn that, and maybe someday stop assign gender to human traits, because in my opinion that leads to automatically thinking that one gender must be better than the other, since all the good qualities are attributed to just the one they're part of. That then leads to unrealistic expectations from an eventual partner, or wrong presuppositions, instead of just getting to know each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Did you actually think they would post their "issues"? I've known many couples personally that put on a great act of being a perfect and happy couple. As soon as they get home the rails fall off. This is the rule, not the exception. His point, anyway, was that when you sign a marriage license you have legally put yourself in subservience to the woman. This is true.

Men shouldn't be a concern in comparison to the lack of women. The female species is being faded out via genetic engineering and gender inversion. Afraid to speak truth, push themselves, carry heavy burdens...I try to raise my boys to continually push themselves and embrace their fears... Also, at some point, everyone has to be "broken". Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I grew up without a dad around, and I'm 27 now. These last few years, I have been really struggling with knowing whether I am truly a "man". These ideas that modern society pushes of what a man looks like, it just doesn't line up with who I am, and so I question my masculinity. I don't make an overwhelming amount of money, I'm not physically impressive, I don't go on grand adventures. But I do work 12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week to make sure My wife and son have everything that they want/need. I do make whatever sacrifice is necessary to provide for my family. I spend any and all of my free time with my wife and son, and I love teaching my son and spending one on one time with him. These things get me made fun of in today's society, because I'm not making myself my number one priority - my priority is my family. I sacrificed my wild dream of becoming a rap artist for a living, because I recognized once my son was born that I couldn't do that, work a full time job, and spend the amount of quality time with my family that I wanted to. I'm happier overall - but society makes it tough to be a man who puts his family first. Thank you for the reassurance.

I had a thought today while I was out on a walk during lunch - realized that I used to deeply yearn just to hear someone, anyone really, say that they thought I was "a badass". But at this point in my life - and the change was very recent, although I'm not sure exactly when - I dont need to hear that from anyone. Now, I'd rather hear something I don't already know. I dont mean that to sound arrogant or prideful - but I certainly do feel a large amount more self-confidence. I know that, no matter what anyone else says, if I am doing what is right in my heart and providing for my family, standing up for what I believe in, and trying to make some sort of difference in the lives around me every day, then I have nothing to prove to anyone. I just had a two day debate with a guy that insisted, a man has authority over a woman. It doesn't matter if he beats you ( maybe he thought, they need it) I told him I always have been submissive to my husband. Not every man deserves respect. He told me I was going to hell. The conversation went into witchcraft. Me saying everyone is a witch but are you a good witch or a bad. They started deleting those posts, not their, I mind you. Removing the conditions require to be able to live a life based on one's own decisions and contemplations. Strength, individual responsibility, self-control, self-dignity, self-sufficiency, stocism, discipline and most importantly accountability for ones own shortcomings,misjudgements and bias. It's happening to both men and women leaving them worse of and unable to help even themselves.

It’s strange, I’m female, but I find myself leaning into the traits attributed to positive masculinity; endurance, courage, the willingness to put up with discomfort for the sake of my people- I think both genders should lean into that. The age of “toxic masculinity” is ending, now lets strive for the positive, and even divine aspects of the masculine energy.

I am mistrustful of a great deal of men in general based on experiences with what masculinity has been twisted into- so many seem to believe that masculinity is rooted in the disrespect and abuse of femininity. I am encouraged by men in my life who find their masculinity in patience, protectiveness, support, generosity, and encouragement. I am lucky to have them, and I want to be a supportive influence to the men around me to express their masculinity in a healthy way that comes from within instead.

I think it's not about gender, but about the role you play. Every family needs at least one calm, collected and capable member to stay afloat. Traditionally men are expected to play that role, but reality is another beast. When men are immature, unstable and incompetent, sometimes the women, girls or young boys in the family would have to step in to keep things together.

When my friend first introduced me to the Alpha beta concept I never really understood it. I just asked him "So I guess you're an Alpha then" and he was like "yes Ofcourse". I couldn't take him seriously. Every time someone brings up this topic I just end up believing they are insecure about their position in the hierarchy, and the fact that they think about it all the time, just reinforces that belief. And if being Alpha is about being rude, loud and obnoxious, then go try be an Alpha in the military, good luck to you, they will break you down.

When i was in. My first class gave me a 4.0 eval because i "wasnt a alpha male" . others were able to royally fuck up with little to no repercussions. Like forgetting to top up fuel before a convoy. Rolling a MRAP into a ditch in Kandahar. Or violating lawful orders. Only mistake i made that deployment was clipped a panel box slightly with a fuel six con cause a CE1 didnt want to do his job. Got in trouble for a week and had to give a speech

He worked long hours, kept up on all the outside work and still had time to teach me to hunt and fish. Before I was born he went off and fought in WWII. When he died the world lost a real man.

On an animal rescue program from America, Animal Cops Houston, I think they showed the number 700 or something very similar in the credits it was part of the logo!!! something like that, anyway when I looked it up in the Strongs Concordance it said. I have noticed their thankyou's are both exemplified and amplified the sincerity is really there it's also alot easier for me to open a door at 260lbs than someone smaller however it's more about the courtesy and that courtesy comes in many ways and forms when I have arms full of stuff it sure has been nice when a woman has held the door for me . Real masculinity isn't about how much hair one has on the face, how much one can drink, or how many women one has bedded. Real men think before they act, and take responsibility for the results of their actions. Real men live honorably and their word, not lightly given, can be counted on. Real men are principled and loyal to their families, teach their children to be honorable people, respect the rights and property of others, and feel at home "in the vuds." Real men don't have to tell anybody what a man they are, and can be comfortable with planting flowering shrubs as well as with rebuilding/repairing engines and machinery. Real men care about others, the wannabes only care about themselves and their "image."

Now I realize it’s the opposite. The true alpha doesn’t need to prove anything or appease anyone. He doesn’t perform or promote, he is simply himself.

This I find true about myself at every stage throughout my life. I was the quiet one. If someone was attempting to harm another, I'm coming and coming fast. If someone needs help that I see can't help themselves, I always gave up my "individualist" needs and helped them. It is nothing about wanting to be loved. It is about being a pillar that humans and nature can count on in tough situations. Being that vital part of nature! The other side of that is to think women are weak is complete ignorance. She will go to war and kill anything that attempts to cause suffering of her children more quickly than a man. She will set aside her individualist pride/ego and sacrifice for her family quicker than a man. She don't have the "oh well, I did what I could" in her play book. Real men and real women are both needed to go forward.

I know the book well. Actually the author used to live close to my home. Having read the book, I shared it with a very good friend in the UK who then went along to his local town hall where Mr. Biddulph was speaking. Steve's book and what he spoke of at the talk, was something that my friend considered and passed on to his young son, who over time developed into a fine young man with a successful acting career that he loves and completely believes in. I was so impressed that my pal would read and adopt some of those ideas into his own life.

Oh that's an excellent quote. The cream doesn't need to declare itself or be told it just rises to the top on its own. No joke I use heavy whipping cream for my coffee. I love the frothy delicious heavy cream that rises to the top. And I've never heard of that before. I have to share that with my husband that is awesome.

So true. I cringe whenever I hear someone proclaim that they are something. If they truly were that thing, then it would be obvious and no proclamation would be necessary. In the case of these men on the interwebs proclaiming themselves to be "alpha", it is a marketing gimmick. It is my understanding that they charge a lot of money to coach or mentor young lads in how to be an alpha. Unfortunately this is not something that a young man can learn easily when already in to adulthood. That training should have been delivered by his father starting at about five years old. Reminds me of Game of Thrones when Joffrey proclaims "I am the King" and then Tywin responds with "any man who must say I am the king is no true king."

I've been told that I need to check my masculinity because I've done without so my wife and kids could eat. I've also been told I'm not much of a man because I've allowed my children to sleep in my bed and I either sleep on the floor, the couch, or in their bed if they're having personal issues or just needed to be close to their mother. I may have been wrong in doing that but my family comes before me in EVERYTHING. Thank you Mr. Bjorn for this video.

When my daughters needed their mother for whatever reason at whatever time they took priority. My giving up of my spot does not in any way diminish my masculinity. Me giving up my plate at the table does not diminish my masculinity. If they were boys it would HAVE been different. Now that there's a granddaughter and if the same situation ever arises I'm almost positive it'll happen again. @@lukec1651 i too put my wife and babies first in my life. Thats what real men do. As for letting the kids sleep in our bed, for a while both of mine would sleep with us because of some strange things that were happening at night. We own a large farm and have everything fenced in with livestock. For a while something was tapping on both of my kids windows about 8 feet high once or twice a week around 1 am. I sat up several nights, rifle in hand and did hear it several times but when i would throw the blinds open it would be gone. One night there was a human handprint left in the dew. Moral of the story is, i didnt feel safe at all leaving my babys in their rooms alone so i put them in bed with my wife and slept in their rooms for weeks waiting to ambush the tapper. I never killed the perp but to make me feel better i built a very nice set of bunkbeds and put them in the corner of our room. As for the tapper, it did infact come and bang on my window two different nights but after that it stopped. Strange thing is that i never got it on any of the security cameras.

The meltdown was totally immature! The masculine thing for him to have done would have been to say something like "yea, that's a part of my past that I will admit I'm kind of ashamed about, maybe even a little embarrassed, but I can't change it since it's in the past. My family continues to live having free thinking, having pride and not become a sheep and follow the masses. We know what is right from wrong. We can depend on each other in many ways. i really needed to hear this. i recently had an encounter with 2 friends where it became clear that i was not like them... and it made me question my masculinity. i now realise that what they were projecting was a very childish version of masculinity. i am a man, and i am a good man, and a strong man. thanks for these videos. i'm carrying this message forward with me.

Too many 'alphas' are posers who have their own weaknesses they are too afraid to face. You don't put on a show, nor belittle others. You just are. While you believe that there is nothing wrong with having sex with other women, or happily having other men have sex with your wife, keep in mind that pedophiles believe that there is nothing wrong with THEIR behavior either. Someone who is clearly mentally ill can always justify their behavior...but they'll also have to deal with the fact that most people around them are sane enough to recognize when something is simply wrong. 🙂

To clarify: The term "simp" is used to describe men who donate a lot of money to women on the internet, usually Twitch streamers, in desperate attempts to get attention and possibly an opportunity to meet them in real life. A simp is a guy who deifies a girl he has never met, simply because she is attractive.

We need to stop gendering personality traits, point blank. That's the most damaging thing we're doing to ourselves as a species, I think. We're all human beings and we all feel and experience the wide spectrum of human emotions, whether they're societally considered to be feminine or masculine. Trying to suppress them to create a certain type of person, even if it's against their own personality or instincts, I believe, is why we have so many angry, sad people and why so many suffer from mental health and substance abuse issues.

I live in the White Mountains in NH USA, we have 4 distinct seasons...I love being outdoors, I'm looking for a small cabin on 3 or 4 acres right now as a retirement place when I stop working. I'll sell my current house, pay off the cabin and live in the woods till I die

Same here. I do the same with the ocean. Just sit down by the seaside and take it in. When the vawes gets to 5meters pluss, that's where the fun begins. Apreciate mother nature. Leave your phone behind and just have a walk through a forest, a hill or whatever. Take in the sounds, the smells and the visuals. Just sit down and be.

My husband and I have been married for 37 years. We have 4 grown children, 8 grandchildren. You give a very good description of what it means to be a man. A man sacrifices for the sake of his family. He gets up every day and goes to work, even when he doesn't feel like it. He is there for his children. He takes time to listen to his wife. He fights for what is right and fights to protect those he loves, even when it costs him.

Thank you. Being a masculine man is about taking care of business, not trying to dominate other people. Masculine men are so confident in themselves that they don't really care what other people do. They build people up, they don't tear people down. They're also insane mentally and emotionally strong.
