GOOOD morning/after/evening my beautiful people. I've been itching to talk about another one of my favorite games of all time for some time now. With the game now newly added to Playstation consoles, I wanted to share my love of this game, with all of you.

As for pets, i never paid for mine. I found rare ancient coin skeletons that gave me enough overtime to buy a golden cat, and ive been in love with "Cat Booty" since.

Don't miss out on Community Days. They usually turn up the spawn rate on ancient skeletons quite a bit for those.

It should be said that while pets are locked behind the premium currency, you can come across skeletons that carry that premium currency. So it is technically possible to get emporium items for free. It's just up to RNG to a certain extent.

I'm decent at combat but everytime I try to get the pvp curses, I get sunk over and over by people that already have the LV 1,000 stuff. I can't get anywhere!

Ubisoft had the opportunity to bring Black Flag with PVP through Skull and Bones but totally trashed that abomination. That game sucks so bad and the fact the dev said it was quadruple A was worst than a bad joke.

@@IslandboyWesSince beta? So you must be good at combat right? Any advice? Every time I try to get the pvp curses I just get sunk over & over before I know what's happening. I can't progress if I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm borderline giving up at this point.

@alexcole9325 some of my best advice for pvp or at least what I did. Go megladon hunting and get some practice on your cannon shots, megs will not sink you, so it gives you good practice on a moving target. Also know when you pressure and when to repair is very important and when to just bucket and not repair. It's a learning curve but you get better with time. I wouldn't say I'm amazing but I'm steadily improving and winning more and more fights.

Correction. There’s fast travel. You just didn’t use it. When you choose a voyage or tall tale you can choose to dive to the location.

okay, so, player with 2k hours here. There is EXACTLY ONE completely free pet, and that's through the "Insider Program" and by free, i mean 120ish hours split over 120ish weeks... take that as you will. also, this game is crazy, i met my partner and the entirety of my crew through this game.

There is a small chance that when you are on an island, special golden skely with a bag on its back. When you kill it you get 150-350 coins for pirate emporium. So if you lucky you don't have to spend money to buy pets

They happen only at sunset and sunrise, during a new moon, and because of how the sun grows massively during those times it can be hard to notice when the moon passes in front but if you’re looking out, it’s a really cool experience.

7:30 I will only complain and say that on the sloop it says 1-2, on the brig it says 2-3, but specifically on the galleon its says 4. Not 3-4 because a 3-man galleon is not optimal in any sense

I was able to earn my pet solely on the Plunder pass, and an Ancient Coin Skeleton. So it is possible to get a pet without spending real money :) Great video m8

Great video. I've been playing since early access on PS5 and am so addicted to this game it's crazy. It's been years since I had this much fun in a game. For the pets, I was able to earn ancient coins in game to purchase a dog. I love how he follows me around everywhere it's so awesome.

You can't earn a pet in game but there is a skeleton which rarely spawns that drops the $ currency. You could theoretically get a pet from only playing the base game through that rare spawn, though in over 300 hours of play I've only come across maybe 3 of them.

20:54 In theory you can't, but if you play frequently, you may find ancient skelletons, if you kill them, you get some ancient coins, and the free season pass also gives you a small amount of ancient coins, it takes time but eventually you can get a pet

My old safe place to fish is no longer safe. Not that I don't still go there...but still. Was a hard lesson to learn when it hits my boat while a Trophy Lava Devilfish is on the line.

Sea of thieves is the type of game I can play with my friends de that has what we love, grinding to get items, a ship fairing game. A community that you don’t know if you’re going to meet friends on the seas, or people that wanna sink you because why not. Black flag is still one of my favourite pirate game even though it’s an assassin creed game. I mean the fact all Ubisoft had to do was make a multiplayer Black Flag naval mode, that would allow you to to travel to all the island to upgrade your ship(s) and fight other players, and we got..skull and bones.

Everything in the pirate emporium can be bought with ancient coins that can be earned with the free battle pass. Everything is free in this game, it’s just you have the option to pay for some otherwise free stuff.

Teeeechnically there are 2 ways to get pets for free. Xbox allows you to turn in points for the currency for completing achievements so if you get enough done you can do it that way, but in game the only way to get them for free is luck. Sometimes special skeletons will spawn that drop green coins. But they are rare so it’s very difficult to do it.

If you want a pet for free, just play and wait for Ancient Skelletons to spawn on your adventures (blue and gold colored skellys). If you heard a sound of digging and coins, then one of those just spawn somewhere near you.

To add, the updates the game gets are very substantial and only ADD to the game, rarely is anything ever removed or switched over in seasons - youre literally just getting MORE game, and its very often COOL STUFF. I think for this kind of live service, the lenient microtransactions are easily acceptable. Plus, you get premium currency from the non-premium season pass (which is really easy to level through by just goofing around) and you can also get a bunch of premium currency randomly from a rare type of skeleton that spawns on land

The plunder pass is really easy to lvl up and there is a lot of free ancient coins which allow you get pirate emporium cosmetics for free and their is also the ancient skeleton while a rare spawn can reward up to 150 ancient coins approximately

I have been playing for 8k hours, and i still haven't 100% the pirate log yet☠️. So the grind is real. That being said, this is amazing experience, cheers to all the PS5 players joining us. Ps. To answer your question about pets, there is no free pet in game, but you could play and complete 2 season passes for free, and you would get enough to buy one.

The only pet that is truly "earnable" without spending money or finding rare ancient skellys is the "Alabaster Wildcat" which is earned by playing the insider build version of sea of thieves for 1 hour every week, until you have reached week 111... So yeah... maybe just spend the 10 bucks.

Newer players? Avoid combat with galleons at all costs. Losing battle. Numbers advantage. Though my buddy (who is pirate legend) has pulled some NUTTY maneuvers on galleons before lol

Galleons are really slow. Turn into the wind and the sloop will outrun them. Sloop is super maneuverable. 2nd player on it does take some of the edge off of doing everything solo. Emptying a vault is particularly stressful solo. But then you pull it off and cash it all in. No other game has captured that feeling. High risk, high reward with the emissary system too.

Technically you can earn pets for free by getting ancient coins in game. Super rare but there’s special skeletons that will spawn that give you varying ancient coin levels. 100-800

Quick clarification: Early in the video you refer to Sea of Thieves as a MMO. While it does share some elements with MMOs Sea of Thieves isn't one due to it not having a massive player count per server. A more accurate term would be a "shared world" game. Obviously this is ultimately a semantic difference but I think it's useful to avoid players expecting the large scale encounters you'd see in an actual MMO.

Valid callout! MMO is definitely "too big" a term to use on this game. I think its only 6 ships to a server atm if i remember correctly?

@@allknightgaming4 It got reduced while they fixed an issue but I think got popped back up with the recent patch. It's something like 6 ships so definitely not "massive". Also there is kinda fast travel. From your voyage table you can choose to dive to the starting location of your voyage (i.e. Server hop), allowing you to skip the initial trip of your voyage making sessions go faster. The tradeoff is loot won't come with you when diving so you'll still need to sail to an outpost to deposit your loot. Some things will come with you when diving like Supply Crates and Rowboats secured to your ship. Diving will always search for an island/activity that's not currently occupied/contested by another crew however another crew maybe on a neighbouring island so use caution on coming out of a dive.

As someone with over 1000 hours on this game, it's worth it trust me. Honestly the only game I like more than it is minecraft. It's a bit difficult to learn the ropes when you're starting but when you get it down it's so good

You're not wrong. Even though I'm legend, I still roll as "Captain of Silver Waters" just to flex on n00bs that never played arena

@@jamesbuchanan3145 arena titles are the best, I use master of arms, and treacherous sea dog the most, I don't use captain of silver waters or legendary sea dog because that only implies that you won a lot, I want them to know about all the killing we did back then, so any title won by killing except the sword or blunder ones, and I use treacherous sea dog just because it sounds cool
