My friend's Japanese Akita had pups and my friend said she would never breed her again because of how ill she looked during the nursing stage She was skinny and had hair loss. The dog was under the vets at this time. Some don't realise just hiw taxing it can be on their bodies. Carrying 1 baby is enough Thank-you very Much!💜..(The Akita went back to full health and regained her fur and weight & was as fluffy as ever!)

Animal issues like negligence and abuse are 1 thing to call about. Checks and balances are needed for everyone. But Rachael's business is hers alone. Call for checks and balances on the people doing wrong or animals being hurt. It amazes me that judgement, criticism, and negative things come from people not being able to mind your own business. I've been watching for a while, and I appreciate seeing the good and the bad. Seeing that a quality breeder goes through some rough spots helps others feel less insecure about seeking assistance. Another maybe experiencing something similar and yet not go to the vet due to fear of judgment and accusations. Also, learning about ways to handle emergencies or medical concerns is extremely helpful.

I agree, and appreciate you showing the hard ships of a breeder. It's not as easy as getting a male and a few females and selling puppies It's alot harder and more work then that. I agree you have to understand the breed and you need to know who should be able to own and take care of a puppy,physically and financially. Being selective who you sell to is very important. To many puppies end up in the pound or in the streets after people get past the puppy phase and realize the dog is big and eats and has medical issues time to time.

2 anecdotal stories: My sister was going to adopt a cat and she saw one that was all skinny and patchy, worried she was unhealthy and when she told me she just weaned kittens, I was able to teach her what you taught me🎉. Also I basically talked to my mil out of being a hobby breeder because she doesn't have good enough ER or reproductive vets nearby, and it's not all rainbows and puppy smell. I appreciate your transparency so much I have learned sooo much

What a great place for dogs! Lots of room, grass etc for them to nibble on. Shade in multiple places too. They look really relaxed & happy there. I'm two days late to this but I totally agree with you. I'd much rather see the good, the bad, and the ugly BUT know that the person behind it is real and has nothing to hide, then seeing some "perfectly manufactured" videos, that are always positive because never does anything go wrong in their perfect little fairytale world. Sadly there are a lot of people who only want to see the good side of things. It's the same with farming/homesteading channels. Some of the comments are hilarious. Aggravating but hilarious. Like how dare these people bring up the subject of animals having passed on or even worse ending up on the farmers dinner plate. Some people just don't do real life... . The only thing I will say in these situations , which also makes me wonder if it was a ner viewer, if you made the call stand on it a d put your name on it. I have been around 75 years effective Monday so I think that I have been around long enough to know bs when I see and hear it! Was also into farming for most of those years so know that the problem with Bella Rose happens not only in dogs but other farm animals as well. Problem is that they are many people around who dont have that education that living with animals provides and it is usually those people who assume that a problem which is common in animals is the fault of or neglect from the owners! I have had animal control called on me many times yet have the same attitude about that as you do I am glad if someone who thought that an animal was being abused cared enough about that animal to call animal control! Also was never mad at the person who called and would welcome them to come visit and experience some of the things that went on running a farm! Glad to see that Bella Rose is looking somewhat better!👍😃

Hi Rachel. Long time lurker and great video by the way. Showing everyone the nitty gritty things you deal with daily. Very brave of you. I just wanted to share something I've recently learned. I noticed in your garden you are growing a specific tree call the Tree of Heaven. I'm having an extremely hard time getting rid of it and it's because I tried to get rid of it the wrong way. These trees are an invasive species and can destroy your natural plant life surrounding your beautiful property. Do not pull them out. They require very specific herbicides to destroy them. Anyway, I just wanted to make you aware of them, especially because you are working so hard on those those rose bushes. Keep up the great work 👍

Yep I at one time wanted to be a breeder because I loved dogs and I have had them my entire life... After watching this channel I have learned so much. I didn't know anything about dog behavior as I thought I did. I no longer want to be a breeder. Its a lot of hard hard work and I would be a nervous wreck.. I am happy to just have dogs as companions. I have 3 little Malishi now that I love dearly.

It's great to see that the swelling appears to have gone down and that she's getting "more gooder". I love dogs, been 20 years since I had a dog under my roof and miss it often. I enjoy channels involving dog care, dog training, as well as people training which fixes some dog behavioral issues. I enjoy not only yours, but Stonnie Dennis in Kentucky. He's great at helping dogs to become good/polite/obedient/calm dogs. I enjoy Beckman Dog Training. Joel's good with helping dogs with behavioral issues and helping owners do better with handling their dogs. He uses a helper dog to instruct as only a dog can do for another dog. And my view of Dobermanns has changed quite a bit watching his dog, Prince do his work. A very GOOD boy. I really enjoy Cesar Millan's methodology, but he seems to be a little too deep into that whole California New Age crap, which (to me) detracts from his talents working with animals. Jury's still out on Dog Daddy. His methods appear to work in helping troubled dogs, he appears to have a pack of well-behaved dogs. I just struggle with that whole "who the heck dresses you??" aspect. LOL Rocky Kanaka and his wife/staff are doing wonderful work with shelter dogs and networking to find homes. I forget her channel name, but that girl in eastern Canada who bathes/grooms dogs does a fine job of showing how to care for animals in that aspect. My point is, when KZfaqrs are doing good/honest/practical work and applying good common sense, their work speaks for itself and overshadows little things that aren't really that important. Not all of us like the same things, but we should be able to recognize when people have a good heart and are striving to educate and share. As a breeder, you're doing a fine job of sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly concerning breeding dogs. I commend you in your care for your animals and your ability to use your words/energy/personality to maintain order within your pack and effectively discipline your dogs in the same manner they know and understand. I appreciate the sharing of how you're reading behavior and the pack's energy to head a problem off prior to it becoming a problem. It's a shame you're getting that "outsider treatment" from your neighbors. I see this incident as a long-term blessing for you, in that the matter is presented openly in your video, the Animal Control staff was able to review the video after having the call to them. They were able to pay you a visit and confirm that all's well with your kennel and animals. Word of mouth will work in your favor, and hopefully your neighbors are seeing the positive side of this and take note of your attitude through it all and they decide to lighten up on you and be more welcoming to you as a member of the community. I also very much appreciate your confession of faith. A follower of Jesus Christ should be able to present good ethics and practices, display sound dominion over their animals and their care. I respect what you are saying and completely understand where you are coming from. For me I base my opinions on what I see, what knowledge I already have along with something called emotional intelligence. Your voice , your tone and spikes where and when in your speech , your reactions when on camera, and years of watching you , I have been told I have pretty good judgement of people. There are other channels where some have made a name for themselves, but for me after watching for a little while , there were too many questionable answers to what had or is happening at the time. If I find too many questionable issues without it being a simple difference of opinion, I simply stop watching that channel. With you I can honestly say that there was only one time that I could say was even near questionable and that was a simple difference of opinion. There was no right or wrong just each of us with how we would handle a particular situation. Even then either of us was that far off from each others way of doing something . Very minor nothing serious. I guess for me I still count on my decades of experience not only with dogs, but with trainers and handlers as well. I’m not perfect and in fact get very excited when I learn something new. You have taught me things I did not know which I am forever grateful. I never trust anyone in this line of business easily. I believe it was almost two years of watching before I even commented on your channel. But everything I have seen and heard from you , I would be more likely to believe you over most people. That doesn’t mean that I will always agree with you after all we are all humans with our in thought process, but I truly do consider you an honest breeder who shows transparency. This is such a rare and honourable trait. I hope that one day I get the chance to travel to your neck of the woods, invite you and Reese to dinner and chat about this beautiful breed of dog , and a breeder who made me interested in a breed I never really looked at as something I would be interested in Owning. That is not an easy thing to do. I am a stubborn product of God fearing Newfoundland origin. I don’t easily trust , nor am I quick to show my hand as they say. But as I said before and still stand by what I said, you are one of only two breeders/ trainers that I have ever known or watched, that has the fortitude to search what they may not know, to be honest even if it gives them a bad review, and first and foremost has the compassion and humanity to learn / do what is best for each individual animal. You are a natural ,born for what you are doing, honest, and gifted beyond measure. But that is just my opinion based on my own knowledge

Only thing that is wrong with Bella rose is she blew her coat she had a huge litter of puppies and that takes a lot out of any mother dog!!!

For anyone who is going to cry wolf on someone else who handles animals and then, turn around and believe what they see on another KZfaq channel as the absolute truth … All I can say is that person is some sort of idiot. I cannot even walk my dogs more than a quarter of a block without their tongues hanging to the ground. So, I make sure they do what is necessary and we get back home asap. Especially, with my girl who is really sensitive to the heat. I am sure there are times my neighbors have thought I was being cruel walking them for more than a block when it is hot out. Trust me, I know their limits. I also carry water with me.

Some people don't understand owning a dog comes with highs and lows. Illness, injuries behaviour problems, deaths and newborns. Most of the dogs I've owned in the past suffered with various forms of cancer and whilst going through treatment looked really rough. It's amazing how quickly people assume the worst of you until you explain the circumstances.
