We need to talk about the Ferrari 812 Competizione

The Ferrari 812 Competizione is the final celebration of the F12 that launched in 2012 and it’s probably the last new Ferrari that isn't a hybrid.
From now on, all new Ferraris will come with a battery and an electric motor just like we’ve seen in the LaFerrari and the SF90. This is of course to increase performance and acceleration while at the same time improving efficiency.
I haven’t really given the 812 Competizione much attention and I’m not really sure why because the more I look at it, the more I fall in love with it and in this video I’m going to show you exactly why. I’m going to compare it to the “normal” 812 Superfast in front, side and rear view.
They may look similar, but the Comp is a very unique limited edition car that does things opposite to what we’re used to. More on that in a minute when we jump into Photoshop.
It’s powered by a 6.5-liter 819-hp V-12 that revs all the way up to 9500 rpm.
It has 19hp more than the Superfast and it costs $600,000.
Expensive? Sure. But it’s also a piece of art.
Picasso’s painting Nude sold for $106M and you can’t even drive it.

I absolutely love the way they designed the back part of the cabrio version. The part right behind the driver's head looks so much better than the regular one. This is much more striking to me than the front end changes

Cutting the top of the light ring makes it look aggressive, without the need for additional graphics. But this is usually done on the front lights. It is a trend that started with BMW, who also happened to introduce the light ring as well.

The cut off taillights remind me of how you'd draw an eye with the top of the iris cropped out by the eyelid. Very nice design feature

812C Front and side with F12 Berlinetta rear. I think that would be my favorite Ferrari. They would obviously have to make them blend into each other, copy and paste probably wouldn’t work

Perhaps 812C has better line flow but I find it's design more awkward and forced, with several competing design concepts. The 812SF/GTS is much more elegant and coherent in it's presentation and more attractive to my eyes. Aventador SVJ nailed the brief for the top of the line final model much better imo.

I saw the 812C, a white one specificlaly at a Ferrari Event at Silverstone, the design was definitely quite confused and looked as if it had been hacked and chisseld away at to the detriment of a clean design.

I agree, the 812 C without the extra intake over the lights makes it look weird. The 812 SF I think looks much better and clean

I used to like this car…till I saw it in person. The proportions and scale feel so strange for some reason. The whole thing feels upscaled like in a toy car sort of way. Kinda like how some of these new electric cars try to achieve that lean compact look but in reality it’s a massive car. Curious if anyone else felt this way.
