I pray that you can get to the bottom of what exactly is wrong with Tater & it will be something easily taken care of! I think the boys are both adorable! Hey Alex!! So, I HAAATTTEEE getting/giving medical advice (cause yay chronic illness); and I promise I am not trying to scare you, but when you get that nerve pain looked at, PLEASE, please ask about Trigeminal Neuralgia. My grandmother had it, and I have been having symptoms that I’m currently waiting to see a neurologist for - and what you described sounds EXACTLY like what we went through. Like, down to being able to trace the pain. I normally wouldn’t even say anything, but I know first hand how freaking **debilitating** TN can be if left unattended; and nobody should have to deal with that. So I really, really hope I’m totally wrong and just being a Nosy Nell 😅 Wishing you and all the boys all the best; and sending you lots of love and good vibes for all the health stuff. ❤

@@maggiealelewjust change the ornaments to be seasonal! I have a white Christmas tree that my mom gave me and I never have the heart to take it down. Now it is a seasonal tree. My kids love it and find random holidays to decorate it for. I actually love Arbor Day and boxing day!

Plus you don't realize how many spiders and webs are in your home until you take down a tree that has been sitting in the same spot for a year

I messaged you on insta like a maniac but my Boston (10 years old named Olive) had a very random seizure at 5AM the day after new years day. I immediately went into shock but because of what I've learned from you and Tater, I knew how to handle it (mainly not to grab her and hold her to my face to avoid getting bitten). I know that it's so difficult to go through all of this but just know that sharing your story with Tater has helped so many people (myself included). Always sending you guys so much love and light!

Me too. I go through stages of different types ie migraines, tension headaches and cluster headaches which can last for weeks at a time 😭 I've gone through so many different meds over the years but none of it really works. So I have so much sympathy for fellow migraine/headache suffers.

YES. The trigeminal nerve. I have had trigeminal neuralgia for 10 yrs now. The pain you are explaining does follow the nerve. Go see a neurologist. An MRI might help as well. Please keep us updated reguarding this issue. I know the pain all to well.

My mom had that for 10 years or so and then they went in an installed a kind of stint type of thing in that area and it kind of helped…she was misdiagnosed with TMJ or TMD for 5 of those years. It’s a horrible situation, I remember her being in so much pain.

P.Louise does have a great advent calendar, but honestly a lot of the colors just work for my tastes/skin tone. My vote for best calendar would be Vogue! Lots of usable items that are so luxurious.

Same here! I bought the Plouise one based on Alex's review last year and I dunno. It is a great value and a far as advent calendars go it is one of the best but a far as usability goes, for me, it's not great. Most of it will be donated or regifted. I like the range of the Vogue calendar.

@@HRoss22her advent calendars are best for her die hard fans, make up artists looking to revive their kits and make up lover's specifically those who wear make up everyday along with wearing bolder make up on a daily. Otherwise if folks don't fall in any of those categories the advent calendar won't be best bang for their buck instead be better off buying the specfic individual product's ya want off her website..

Alexandria, what you describe about your ongoing health struggles sounds like mine. I was diagnosed with neurological long covid about 18 months ago and I have daily headaches, nerve pain, brain fog, losing or skipping words, fatigue and joint pain. Not all at once, and not every day apart from the headaches. I spoke to my GP a few times but I'm already on meds for chronic pain so there isn't a lot extra I can do but for headaches I use a menthol forehead stick called 4head which helps. Sleep also helps some. Some days are better than others. I just wanted you to know you're not on your own.

I second this. Did you have Covid, Alexandria? I haven't been diagnosed with long Covid but I had it over Christmas. I am still having headaches and fatigue. My doctor says it is pretty common. I definitely think you should get checked out by a physician but it's a possibility. And, @helenwaugh2940, I hope you start feeling better soon!

It’s so stressful when your dog is sick, so I feel so sorry for what you’re going through with Tater. I have two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Chloe, 6 years old and Lulu, 4. I took Chloe to the vet because everybody, Including myself, felt Chloe had gone deaf. The vet examined her, walked behind Chloe and quietly said “Treats!” Chloe immediately turned and ran to the vet who has the best treats in town . The vet says Chloe has a highly technical disease called “ Selective hearing”. Our pets can put us through a lot of emotional trauma, but they love us unconditionally, and we love them that way too.

I feel like one of my Cavaliers definitely had that! She also unfortunately had SM, so we let her get away with a whole lot😅 Both my Cavs are gone now and I miss them terribly. They really are the sweetest dogs in the world!

Ain't that the truth! I had my 8.5 year old strictly indoor housecat spayed in October. We were getting ready to move and I didn't want her to react by marking the new house. Anyway, she was fine for a couple days but then she quit peeing. Took her to the clinic and they said she had a blockage and needed surgery ASAP or else her bladder would burst and she would certainly die. I frantically drove 40 miles one way in complete hysterics with my flashers on to get to a 24 hour emergency animal hospital. They wanted to keep her for 3 nights to surgically remove the blockage and observe her. For the stay, surgery, IV + meds, the low end estimate was $4500 and high end was $5200. I had to apply for a CareCredit card to pay for it, but by hell I made it happen. They called the next morning and said I could come get her. After they gave her a pain shot and antibiotics, they tried to insert the IV and she turned into a tiger. She bit the poor vet tech (who had to go to a human hospital per the animal hospital's safety protocols) then peed everywhere. She didn't get the IV and no surgery was needed. The official diagnosis was Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, likely triggered by the stress of the spay. Now she has to have a fancy $7/lb food for the rest of her life and she developed a stress eating disorder after the spay. $2k+ to find out my cat is a stressed out terrorist with a flair for the dramatic and a tendency to overreact. I already knew that. 🙄😮‍💨🥺

I started getting real bad headaches the last two years, and I started keeping a diary of all the times I was having them and what I was eating and drinking throughout the day to see if anything triggered the headaches. Turned out I was intolerant to alcohol. And I would have a beer when I got home from work most nights and when I stopped.. boom 💥 no more headaches! Crazy how you don’t associate things until you log everything down for a week!! ✌🏼

My German shepherd and Tater have the same epilepsy journey, same meds and same schedule. I understand how emotionally taxing it can be. You are doing a great job! Bless y’all for giving Tater and Ren everything they need.

You are doing amazing with the pup. Of course you are going to be nervous about the tests but they do know what they are doing!! Just get it done and say some prayers. The info you get from the test will be worth it. Our dog was diabetic and Cushings. That poor little girl had more tests than I have ever had. 😂 Honestly, she was with us for another four or five healthy years( most people told us a year or 2). Like human science, pet science has come a long long way. Also, my sister in law had an epileptic dog - he lived to at least 10 or so. ❤

My catahoula mix dog has had 4 seizures in the past 1.5 years. It would be fine since he doesnt happen often but when he does have them he fails all over the house until I hold him down and he gets them in clusters with the longest individual seizure lasting 15 min and the clusters can last up to 2 hours. Holding him down so he doesn't hurt himself is hard because he is 70 lbs and I am 120 lbs but I try my best. He went to the er last Friday with his 4th seizure and because of the severity of them he is now going on Keppra. We are hopeful because his seizing stopped immediately when the vet administered that medication. With my job and living alone I unfortunately can't be home for him all of the time so I hope this medication will help. He is also going to a neurologist next month to cover the bases. It is scary to have someone you love so much go through something like this. I wish Tator and your german shep. (My other dog is a gsd lab mix. They are wonderful dogs) the best in their epileptic journey and hopefully can find a medication that helps keep them under control!

I LOVE the Killian perfume but I agree it's wildly expensive. I have a dupe from Alt Fragrances and it smells nearly identical. And it lasts longer. Save your money and get that version, it's less than $50 I believe. I have smelled/tested Love Don't Be Shy and I really can say I put one on each wrist and once they were dried down I couldn't tell much of a difference.

You are precious! I agree; you need a doctor to have regular checkups. I would hang on to your grandmother's house! I am in my early 60s and have never been able to own my own home. The gift she gave you was stability, the feeling of being safe, always knowing you will have a roof over your head no matter how bad things get. I don't know a lot about vlogging, but I'm in. Nerve pain is terrible. I have nerve pain related to my hypermobility spectrum disorder. I also have Dysautonomia/Pots. I’m so very thankful that awesome KZfaqrs like Alexandria exist and make my days more bearable.

I can personally sympathize with your little Wren. I,too, suffer from a seizure disorder. Mine are pretty well controlled, but I have more in the winter months. I have a tumor that presses on my corpus callosum. I am so proud of you for doing everything thing that you have done for him. So many people would have not. Husband surprised me with a few advent calenders this year and did a great job. The sephora mini candle calender was a bit of a bust but the Neuhaus 25 days chocolate calender and Clarins 24 day calender were absolutely fantastic.

Im on Keppra too (i was very unexpected diagnosed with epilepsy in 2023). I still don't know the cause (no physical damage) so it was nice having that ruled out (MRI) - I also lost my furbaby (kitty) in oct last year. Sending all my love and healing vibes to your furbabies!!!! May 2024 be a year of good health for us all. ❤ I'm so glad you decided to post this. Your videos bring me such joy and always are a lovely way to start my day on a positive note. I dont watch many vlogs but i would DEF watch yours.

Regarding Tator, you say he didn't have any extra stress in December, but I bet if you replayed the month, he did have more going on than you realize, thru no one's fault. December is just stressful all the way around, most people either travel or have company come in, more packages show up, often daily from different vendors at multiple times a day, which can cause stress for pups, there's so many things that they can be picking up on that don't even phase us because we can understand what's going on and why. Those beautiful little guys can't, but they pick up on so so much! Just a thought to consider :)

You probably already know this, but one sided headaches like that are migraines, most likely. I get them frequently, so I understand how awful they are. Also, a migraine includes... well.. basically your body releasing chemicals that make your whole body feel sick for a lot of people, too. I hope you get some answers so you can get help with this! ❤

That is the trigeminal nerve, and the pain is trigeminal neuralgia. Tension headaches, grinding your teeth, ear imfections can all cause it

Please do the vlogs!!!! Just do A day in my life!! We don't need edited, professional Alexandria we just want you!! Show us how you make candles, how you repair the vintage clothes. Take us with you to the store and let us see you preparing the store for the day. Throw in what you're making for supper, shopping at the grocery and telling us your favorites every week purchases. Things like that, we'll watch you doing laundry, washing dishes, walking the boys, giving the boys their treats ANYTHING!! We just love your take on the world. Weather/season shifts always set luckys seizures off. so about 2-4 months out of the year were multi seizure months but the test are super helpful to figure out the cause of them

I enjoy your videos a lot. Thank you for them. And i hope your sweet boy feels better soon. We had to have our sweet girl Bella put to sleep 2 weeks before Christmas. She was almost 15 and in so much pain and no meds were helping. Had her on 3 and dosage were high. When she could rest, she slept all the time and the rest of the time she was so restless because she couldn't get comfortable. It is hard because you do become so attached.

Have you had all of your hormones and vitamins levels checked? B12, vitamin d, iron, and all of your regular stuff along with a full thyroid panel. There are several levels of thyroid, which they should check all of them for the most accurate analysis. All of those cause hair loss and migraines. Also, my MIL takes propranolol for migraines. I take it for another condition, but it seriously does help! Might be worth bringing it up to the doctor. Hopefully the whole seizure episode in December was an anomaly and Tator will get better and has something more treatable from the scan!! 🥰

Big changes in weather can trigger seizures! I used to take 911 calls and there was always an uptick in seizures when the barometric pressure in the atmosphere changes. It affects the body more than you’d think, same way it can trigger migraines and joint pain etc. do u remember what the weather was doing when the oddly timed seizures happened?

I'd be interested in seeing your health journey! I've been really working on healing my relationship with food, since it wasn't great in the past. I've been trying to make my meals are more balanced, I eat more veggies, but I never feel bad about eating out with friends, having dessert, etc. and then I've just prioritizing movement of some kind, movement I enjoy! I know that journey looks different for everyone, and if you'd like to share I'd love to watch along ❤

I have migraines in my temple too. I also have occipital neuralgia. Once I got shingles in that nerve too. There's treatment for all of it. Neurology or pain management, or even primary care. I also recommend getting your pup checked out. My dog had a similar thing and needed treatment (surgery, in his case). I hope you feel better soon!

Re: selling from your stores online, consider a partnership with Shopify. I know a lot of creators do this. Re: always being sick - consider looking for mold in your house. It's what happened to me, when I moved out of the apt they found a ton of mold behind my dresser (the dresser had come with the apartment). Within a week of moving out I got better. Long COVID also causes those symptoms.

I've got a kitty with epilepsy. She's okay with natural smells but no diffusers or perfumes recently sprayed or hairspray or room sprays. Triggers her every time. Candles don't bother her luckily because I love candles! Nothing has ever scared me more than watching her have a seizure and it's been a year and a half seizure free. *knock on wood*. I hope your babydog gets some relief! And you! Love watching you. Your energy is calming and relatable 🤣

As a woman struggling with PCOS and hair loss, I would be VERY interested in seeing your journey and what you do to combat the hair loss. When you've talked about it in other videos, I've found myself sitting here thinking, "But her hair looks so nice! how does she do it?". I’ve been watching you forever. You’re just so relatable and love that you’re so real. I have adhd also, and migraines. (And the best way I can talk to someone is by relating my own experiences…) The doctors have found a correlation (is that the word?) between the adhd, stress/anxiety, blood pressure, and the migraines. Obviously all are, and can cause, each other. So, maybe keep an eye on your blood pressure. I mean, you don’t have any stressors in your life or anything. HA! Believe me, going to the doctor is the last thing I want to do… but migraines and high/low blood pressure problems are serious. Take care of yourself!!! You are loved!! Thanks for all you do!

My horse had to go for neurological testing as well and had I known it'd basically be stabbing her face with scissors I'd have been sick the month leading up to the date. If your headaches continue and you can’t figure it out you might try laying flat at night. If you wake up feeling better in the morning you could possibly have a csf leak. About ten years ago I started having a bunch of headaches. It took about 5 years to get diagnosed but I have a csf leak.

1) I can say documenting a fitness/health journey has helped me keep consistent and myself accountable so vlogging your fitness journey could help (if you lack motivation like me 😂) also I definitely would love to see! When you mentioned the jaw pain, I immediately thought about TMJ. When I have a flair up, I get headaches like that. You might be able to get a diagnosis from a primary care doctor, but also have a dentist evaluate. Take care of yourself!

I would like to know what you are still using and what you are thinking about trying. Thanks! BTW, the "raptor claw" is usually known as a dew claw. Many times they are removed when the dog is a puppy to prevent the dew claw from catching on something and ripping the claw.

My heart goes out to you trying to get Tater’s health problems under control, we’re going through something somewhat similar with one of our cats and it’s so stressful, especially with invasive treatments that can be so difficult to agree to put your baby through. Our cat has hyperthyroidism that was under control for a year but has recently escalated and we’ve been trying different things to get it back under control to maybe pursue a treatment that could cure his hyperthyroidism completely. But it involves an injection of radioactive iodine and he’d have to be in the vet clinic for 21 days because he’d be radioactive and it wouldn’t be safe for him to be at home with us and our other cat. The idea of him being in a cage with very little contact with people for 3 weeks when he’s a very friendly, social cat is so heartbreaking and exposing him to literal radiation seems so counterintuitive to his health, but apparently 90-95% of cats are completely cured that undergo it!

For your migraine try checking your spine! I had migraines for weeks and after years and years they started to really be debilitating. So i went to a neurologist and i have a cercival discopathy. Once i started treatments my life was ten times better. I do not live in the USA so I don't know how easy or hard is to check it there, but at least try for it! Much health to you and your family (of course including the boys :) )

I hate it when my dogs are sick…i hate seeing my dogs suffering and can’t tell what’s wrong…and the bills as well…and they have to drink a lot of meds…i’m glad to hear he is doing good…i love your dogs and i hope the brain scans will explain the seizures and point u guys in the right direction
