Hi! I'm Akeeba, a certified K-6 teacher who now homeschool my daughters, ages 7 and 8. I help parents and teachers become better at teaching their children & students. I also share my motherhood and homeschool journey. My goal is that we maximize our children's learning potential and have fun while doing it! I post daily on Instagram, so come join me there as well!
....today I'm flying solo with my girls to Korea! The whole journey took us over 24 hours! ASIANA AIRLINES was truly comfortable, I can't imagine what first class is like! I was nervous to be in a foreign country where I don't speak the language with children, here's how the first 24 went!

The only thing i love more than travel videos is the Maze sisters travelling with their kids. Im a homeschooling mom and i recently travelled to Malaysia with my five kids and hubby from Australia and we spent so much time in the airport trying to get a taxi that by the time we got one it was past midnight, out Airbnb had cancelled on us and we spent an extra two hours searching for a hotel only to find two tiny rooms with a queen size bed each. The 7 of us squeezed into those two beds and it was hilarious. We stayed there for 3days till we found another Airbnb. 😂

We travel full-time and honestly, these hiccups (though super frustrating in the moment) build character. You learn to become a problem-solver and in the future will look back at those unforgettable "remember when" moments.😂 For future reference, Grab is the best app to find a ride from the airport (and really everywhere) in Malaysia. We got in at like 3am and it was very easy to get a ride with Grab. That was how most people got to their accommodations because taxis really don't work after a certain time there.
@Katarina23
@Katarina23 Жыл бұрын
@@NomadicIslanders yes we use Grab now but we didn't have a hotel to go to at that time. With Grab, you have to put in a destination. We ended up calling some ppl from my community who had sent a taxi of their own and he helped us find a hotel. He knew the local hotels that were open at that time. It was a miserable night but thankfully, we found something. All's well that end well🙌

Girl I am ecstatic that you went to Korea that is one of my long term trips. I was so jealous that you went and was not scared with your children. One of my favorite foods is Korean foods, and I just love them as a people and the way they are concern about their country. I tell my daughter to go there and start a career. You are so right we should learn how to speak other languages besides French and Spanish. Your girls are so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is an amazing learning experience and exposure to life abroad for your children. They are now old enough to remember the trip later in life. I am so happy for you and your daughters. Be sure to purchase a sovenier such as a piece of art, small sculpture; textile, home decor, etc. for both, that they can keep for their adult home or office. I wish, my parents had done this for me, when we live abroad in the early 1960's. The soveniers they purchased did not hold up too well over time. Plus, my mom gave all the soveniers to my sister, who refused to share any. I have a few photos. Take lots of photos of the girls together and separate in Korean landmarks. Perhaps, they can use photos for school projects and/or collages. Peace and Blessings from North Carolina
