Barsys is a machine that can automatically make a wide variety of cocktails from a large database of recipes. Barsys can pour proper proportions quickly and look good doing it. But can it make a better drink than a human mixologist? It’s man versus machine -- bartending edition.

They should do a double-blind test with more people. That will solve it. a single-blind test is not good enough.

I was a bartender for 15 years (was supposed to be till I finished Uni...) and I promise you, like many others, machines will soon take that job as well. But not this machine

Skeptic Seeker while I agree with the labor side; bartenders are also responsible for not severing you when your inebriated. Though I can see a few machines and 1 bartender handing them to you getting around such laws.

@@omgitsjulian it comes down to profit margins and theft really. Most corporations won't let local laws nor the public well-being get in the way of their profits

@@AtheistsClaw I feel you can almost point to starbucks as a good example. I can see consumers being the final nail in the coffin. Imagine going to a bar where you're not expected to tip the machines, where you go to a bar where you're expected to tip the humans. Depending on your evening (or morning; no one is judging here), I can see favoring one over the other. Good arguments and thanks for the replies!

He is not cocky lol, he is a professional. I'd laugh at a sodamachine like that aswell and I have been bartending for only a year now.

Give me a machine with a spot to screw in a bottle of Coke to keep it carbonated, 2-3 choices for liquor, cut the price in half and I'm down. Bonus points if it has a built-in ice maker and/or keeps the bottles cold. The day I can tell Google to make me a rum & Coke and it's ready before I get there is probably the day I become an alcoholic.

They have its called the Mixer Shaker robot which has beaten the best of the best , but if you want cheap then go to the Bartesian unit for 299

The problem is bigger than it making drinks! Can it listen to your sorrows when you have had a bad day? Or warmly congratulate you after that big promotion? Or can it have a simple conversation with you, when you just want human interaction? No, because it’s just a machine... it can’t replace the human touch.

Why not do a fair test by taking the cost to train a mixologist plus a years of wages , this will put into the Mixer Shaker robot , which has gone up against the best

Dmytro Bondarenko no, they failed to mention the egg white that’s in that drink, that adds volume, and whips to make the drink fluffy. Something the machine ant do. This video is terrible

@@android89ua because the drink is supposed to be able to replace a bartender, and I think they picked a drink the machine would not be able to replicate to better emphasize that the machine can not actually replace a bartender

A machine will make a consistent ,excellent , drink fast .how many time you purchased coca cola.The only upside to a bartender is interaction. nothing else

People go to bars for interaction, not automated metal dispensers with computers. At the end of the day a human can provide a perfectly balanced drink while efficiently serving dozens of drinks every 30 minutes.. Bartending is a craft that will never be replaced by a robot or machine. Well....that is until AI/robos take over the world lol

well the second test was incomplete because the appearance was better than the stupid junkyard robot cocktail making did so automatically your brain will choose the nice one and will taste better than the other one just remember if they use the exact amount the junkyard machine and the that guy that just went to get pay would have the same taste 🤔😁😂

It's impossible a human can measure as well as a machine. This machine might not be it, but eventually one will kill the whole industry. Bartenders will be a luxury for those willing to pay for them. And no tipping!

This is over priced junk! You can’t operate it without the app! They claim to make multiple different drinks but not stating the obvious that you have to change out the liquor and mixers constantly! For example if I wanted a White Russian drink or Ginger Peach Iced Tea! Save your money and buy the Bartesian Cocktail Mixer! The drinks are delicious and simple to create! Remember, these machines are made for home bars and cannot be compared to a professional bartender by no means! Just my opinion! Don’t hate!
