In this video, we pick a random beach in Oregon to collect a black sand sample. We run our Oregon beach sand sample through the Gold Cube and finish cleaning the concentrates with the Blue Bowl. I take you through the process of running sand through the Gold Cube and briefly explain how it works.
After we get our concentrates from the Gold Cube cleanup, we head over to our dedicated Blue Bowl station to finish cleaning up our concentrates. ( A nod to Norm Abrams) I disassembled and cleaned our dedicated Blue Bowl station to show the components and explain the principle of how it works. I also highlight just how accurately these machines can be tuned.
When everything is all cleaned up, we show just how much gold was in just 3 gallons of sand.
The results are quite surprising for the sample size.
I mention a few brands in this video.
I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID TO MENTION OR ENDORSE ANY PRODUCT MENTIONED OR SEEN IN THIS VIDEO.
I would of course, disclose if any of the manufacturers thought highly enough of my mention to send a shirt or coffee mug.
(Disclosure in next video in production if, and, or, when anything should be sent)
That's not the point of mentioning brands though.
I'm trying to say what works for me and why it works for me.
Anything that eases the stress of making videos in remote spots or makes my life a bit more fun...... I believe that merits a mention.

We show the full process to illustrate an important point. You simply cannot run more sand in a given location than a single wave can restore once the hole is refilled.

Well that was totally cool! And quite a process. I've never seen a cube sluice or a blue bowl. Thanks for explaining how it all works. And thank you for including the amazing Oregon coast in your intro. So doggone beautiful there.

Oddly enough, this video is getting very few views. Every other gold video about the Oregon Coast gets thousands of views at this point after production. Even with a guy who had only 6 followers and shot it on a cell phone in 640 x 480.

@@DavidBriggsAdventures I've noticed that the gold videos that get thousands of views have thumbnails that show the end result. Just a thick line of gold in the pan or something similar.

@@RileyCourtier I've been thinking about that. My thinking was to not give away the ending. My next gold video is going to show the pan. I was trying to impress the point that it can be a difficult hobby, and not for everyone. My state makes it particularly difficult to demonstrate machine usage. I thought that part deserved to be documented a bit heavier. My challenge is balancing the delivery of information while quietly urging responsible and ethical behavior. I'm also getting to the point where my face is going to need to be seen unless I learn some gymnastic camera operator moves. ;) Thank you for watching and commenting. ;)

A round bubble level that fits on top of the blue bowl outlet or funnel top works best for me. If you put the black sands on aluminum cookie sheets and use a spin-it-off magnetic removal tool, you will be able to concentrate your pay-dirt/sands.
@DavidBriggsAdventures

In theory yes, but reality gets in the way when you come to the variable particle size. The gold is so fine that a magnet picks up gold with the black sands. I've been working with this material for over a decade and I can assure you normal processing methods don't work. We run it twice all the time. Every gold bearing region has it's unique set of challenges. I use several different types of levels, but I like my trusty level from Ace.

New subscriber here. With a historical mining name like Briggs I had to join up. Maybe I can learn a thing or two. Am looking forward to some more gold adventure videos. It looks like that blue bowl has been well used and likely has earned its keep. Cool beach location you found. I run some of that black beach sand up north of you by Astoria but it is all flour no flakes like you got obviously from a different source. Hey keep up the good work, thanks, and share some of your other gold adventures.

Thank you for subscribing. Funny you should mention wanting to see more gold videos. I'm working on it. The virus closures and the fires kept us out of some fun spots. This fall is going to be a bit heavier on the gold prospecting side of our adventures. A woman, now 98, who lived in the wilderness for a decade gave me a list of creeks to check out. Shhh... don't tell anyone..lol I'm hoping it's going to be fun. I'm also going to do some how to's and IF we get some gold, we'll do a giveaway for that. We delay videos by a week for some obvious location security reasons.

There is a guy called the “Flour Gold Wizard” who has a KZfaq channel. He often mines Lake Superior beach sand. The sand there yields significantly better quantities, and more crunchy gold. Do you have any large lakes near you?

David great video. I have the same issues with micro gold it is not flour gold what I'm working is dust gold LOL we are working with it because we found it in our property in a seasonal creek. We have the Gold Cube, Millers Table, Blue Bowl. My problem is that both blue bowl and millers table leave some sand with the gold and its a pain to separate loosing some of the micro gold. Would like to know what do you do to separate blond sand once it's concentrated either in blue bowl or millers table Thank you
@DavidBriggsAdventures
@DavidBriggsAdventures Жыл бұрын
I can do it by hand, but you can use a miller table with a nice flat layer of silicone mat. You get really great brush control when using a snuffer bottle for collection. Basic black is best for differentiating between gold and platinum. A very real situation where I live.

@@DavidBriggsAdventures Hi Dave. When using the table I need to use a credit card to collect the gold and then use snuffer bottle but prior to using the credit card the majority of the gold is not visible until I put it in a pile unfortunately sand is collected and hard to separate, this thing is micro micro gold Thank you
