I used to listen to Alan Watts a lot in past years, now hop on occasionally just to hear his voice which has calming effect on me, but why I'm writing this message is that after hearing his talking in some while or maybe months, even years later I get something from Universe like a situation which just confirms what Alan Watts has said and it settles down within me. I love this man, feels like an universe and infinite knowledge is just talking to me, would be interesting to hear his opinion on present times and future, like he predicted many many years ago precisely.

I disagree, a lot of the time I wish that I was back in the fold of this version of reality, being caught up in the drama is far more fun then being under the constant weight of knowledge that none of it is real. I often envy those that don't consider these thoughts, because they are truly living in an enriched drama, whereas I am aware that I'm only watching a movie, it makes it far less enjoyable in my opinion. They aren't zombies, they are just enraptured in the drama, and that's okay, it what this place is meant for.

We don’t deserve anything in life. I grew up Christian and not for one instance did I believe it. Religion was created by humans to create meaning that it obvious. Religion is a reflection of us and I think that even the saints didn’t really believe this real thing. God is in all of us, we are the universe there is no good or bad just the universe and if god is the universe then he also holds no judgement. Religion was used as a tool of control and still is today, constantly in history actors have used religion to justify any action. The crusades for example the pope just made it up for political reasons, there was no other reason. Believing in religion is you hiding behind a tool, a mask. Life just is and you can’t accept this so you allow religion to spread its thorns. Let me remind you god (if he does exist) didn’t create religion, humans created it. God has nothing to do with it. Humans created the bible, god didn’t.

What he is saying (i think) is that we are all asleep when we are playing our roles in this span of life we have at work, and socially etc. All the identities beliefs ascribed meaning we have attached to ourselves is a complete illusion and an act, parts we play out unconsciously. But every now and then, usually early hours of the morning going to toilet from bed I will be struck powerfully by a realisation that all I have done, all I have attached all my beliefs etc are complete illusions and completely meaningless, it literally strips away everything instantly. And I feel completely alert completely conscious with absolute clarity that everything is an illusion except exactly what I feel when this thing, this massive slap that strips me to my core. I used to be shook from it and instantly scramble round my head for some quote or belief system to counter act it to comfort me and make me feel safe from it again but now I make myself feel it and like when it strikes me because I believe this is kinda what he’s saying that is who I really am just a piece of life when stripped of all the illusions I have accumulated since I was conscious enough to start being sucked in by them, that thing that hits in the early hours is real and that’s why it demolishes the illusions in an instant. It’s a smack that wakes you up. Anyone else experience this. Or anyone agree disagree or add?

I like the way you’ve phrased this! The one thing I keep coming back to is why does human nature lead is to the point we are at? We play these games and roles to inevitable have the death of our physical body. Does it come down to love between people and nature? A love that sees past these boundaries and rules? What is the driving force that leads us to the complexity and belief that we have a story that needs to be lived and realized?

@sinky187
@sinky187 Жыл бұрын
@@bentleymusic03 thanks for commenting! My personal conclusion to what I think your getting at and I think your asking, why do we do all this searching for meaning and achievement, identities etc repeating it daily and never ever finding it and when we think we might possibly have finally found it or are on the right path to it, it seems to slip away again and the cycle begins all over. My personal conclusion is that there is nothing to live out or some meaning to life to find in it all, no matter what you do or achieve, no matter what title you have it is all futile and like you said it leads us all to death. Now what I have just said is quite difficult and maybe depressing for someone to hear which then could lead to “oh what’s the point then may as well kill myself” or it leads people to leap to religion or a man made belief system which assign a meaning of life to you, and you feel good again safe and like your heading to a better life but in religion and belief system they all tell you there’s another life waiting a better one an after life! But this is just another way of saying that then this life is meaningless if we are just living by divine rules and systems to reach this better life sod this one! So my belief or way is that yes it is all meaningless but I find my own meaning in what I do it’s my own personal existence up to me to live how I choose, my life my fate are my own. If you choose to see through the ridiculous routine of everyday life and realise it’s meaningless you will not feel it as suffering because you are no longer searching and asking for a universal meaning from a world that is silent and always will be if you ever ask what you asked earlier. If there is a place that transcends this world, as a human being that is to say with a humans limits and capacity you will never be able to know that there is. Has anyone ever claimed to have been answered? No. So live this life the one you can feel, resist, smell, touch, see the only one you and I have ever had life or consciousness in, unless your aware of one before or have seen one I haven’t, and find your own meanings in what you choose to do. Don’t take work, life or anything to serious it’s all illusions. See everyone and everything for exactly what it is and who they are, what’s obvious and under your eyes. It’s freeing. Also this is just an opinion I’m not telling anyone this is the gospel, and apologies for the length I’m not the best at explaining myself in short!
@sinky187

@@alexandervonprellwitz1735 thanks for commenting, my thoughts on what you say are, that the waking up in anguish which I think is similar to what I was saying about when it hits me smack in the face in the early hours. So maybe like me you can perceive it differently and maybe see it’s the illusions you have accumulated like myself over years and also wen very young with an undeveloped mind that cause the anxieties, because they are just imaginary we don’t know how to stop them because it’s our intelligence that’s doing it the one thing we need to stop them, your intelligence is turning against you when you need it to work correctly for you. So the waking in anguish or like mine when I said it instantly demolishes anything I believed or thought of myself, identities etc it’s actually trying to wake you up and show you, you are not any of them anxieties it’s actually trying to help you see you are just a human being a piece of life just like anything alive on this planet, and anything alive on this planet will eventually pass by and die you are no different from anyone or anything alive only humans illusion themselves we are more than we are. see with clarity anything troubling your mind is nothing more than an illusion it is not real in any form. Strip yourself of them all until you finally get all the way back to your bare flesh and the reality you are just skin and bones anything else is imaginary. A good way to start is to just write what you feel, think, or just whatever comes out.

Alan progressed as a philosopher throughout his life. Near the end he was talking about this human experience as a great play, like a movie, and he said when we die we return to the green room and take off our costumes, take off our masks. Had he lived longer, he would have logically had to ask: Who scripted each role? And he would have rejected the idea that some sort of singular personality called "God" wrote each role for the literally ZILLIONS UPON ZILLIONS UPON ZILLIONS of roles on this earth alone. For you see, each living creature is playing a role and that includes living creatures such as all the insects in the ground and all bacteria and other microbes as well. The microbes within you are perfect spirits just like you -- they could have chosen to be a human personality instead of a microbial one supporting the biological body of a human. Alan was the greatest philosopher in living memory, but that doesn't mean everything he said was "right". It was a work in progress and he died young for a philosopher. Whenever you hear him say something that doesn't really make any concrete sense, then trust your intuition and common sense about it. It makes no sense to attribute the creation of life to something vague like a "universe" or "God" or "Nature". Had he lived longer, he might well have realized that the answers to the fundamental questions about Philosophy & Spirituality must meet the criteria of being the epitome of Simplicity, Fearlessness, and Good News for All living creatures. Any answer that feels vague or impossible to visualize must be rejected. Any answer that has even a hint of fear in it must be rejected. Any answer that is not as simple as possible and seems even a tiny bit complex must be rejected. I am not saying he was wrong to say the things he said, but I am saying, because he was almost constantly touring and giving these talks over many years, that what you hear are reflections of his ideas as he progressed towards the simple, fearless, good-news truths. And he was cutting edge for the times he lived in. He was an antidote to white, middle class, Christian indoctrination and/or the emerging atheistic religion called scientism.

Too many people buy into the “Not Of This World” nonsense, and that mentality then destroys their entire view on life, and all its beauty! When ignorant people say “NOTW”, they are discrediting everything they claim to believe in, starting with God, the creator of the perfect & beautiful universe. “And God saw that all creation was good” and very beautiful!

The Games We All Play I started in this Chase by playing in Forrest's fun house of puzzles, but do you also realize that I am also playing a "game" alongside yours. In fact, there are at least four games being played out: - a game created for play by the originator of the game - but to be played by participants with an intended "known" outcome - a game being played by the participants and resulting in being watched by the originator of the game as it is played out in unknown ways - a person is playing the game for the creator's reasons, but seen being played from their own participant's perspective (multiple participants = possibly the same multiple perspectives = unknown variables) - a person is playing the game for their own reasons, unknown to the originator of the game being played ...but yet, even still, there are the fifth and sixth reasons this game is being played, built into the game as well - which results in the "games" that will play out afterwards, as 'bi-products' of the original singular game. The fifth is the reason or outcome that is of the original "projection" by and of the creator and their game - both being viewed from the creator's perception. The intended reason the game was created. The sixth is the reason or outcome that is of the original "projection" by and of the player and their game, and how the game can benefit their life - which is being viewed through the participant's/player's perception. And yet, we can now realize that there is a seventh reason. One that plays on the outcome to begin, yet another game. Also a "bi-product" of the initial game, but also the goal of both the creator and a player. In summary: 1. The creator's game with the intended / "planned" outcome 2. The player(s) playing the creator's game being watched by the creator - unknown variables are in play 3. The player playing, but from his/her perspective - controlled variables by the player(s) 4. The player(s) playing for reasons unknown to the creator - controlled variables by player(s) w/unknown results being watched by the creator 5. The projection and perception of the game by the creator, unknown to the player(s) - the intended reason for the game 6. The outcome of that projection or perception by the player(s) - how will it benefit the player(s) - their intended outcome 7. The true outcome of the game - the actual result of the game as viewed by the creator and players - Fate/Destiny? Can one even tabulate the odds of all of these variables and come up with a statistic that ultimately succumbs to be the same result? Unfortunately, no one knows they are playing the "7th game", because no one told them they were. And yet, we can see they/we are playing with a full throttle, in order to complete the initial game we all set out to play. A game that no one knows the results, but once they start playing, the results show the player what they are actually playing for. Oh sure, disappointment is playing too. The players know it is there, but they sometimes push it aside, in hopes to see that it never surfaces in front of them. We see the endless loop it creates for an individual, yet, the participants don't. How do we proceed to have a winner in a game that is not controlled by us? Easy, we guide the game to our liking. We know the plays ahead of time, in order to steer and stay a course we create. We know that there aren't any established rules -- so why not allow us to create the rules?

It seems kind of sad and lonely--the "I", the God, is only one. It divides and creates many little lives, but in the end, all of the separate lives are really just one....the one singularity, that desperately wants to know "other". Each one of us is the fabric and structure of existence itself, and it all amounts to that one great thing....one lonely, great thing that must divide itself and forget itself, in order not to feel so alone.
