It has been a tough month. I have been under the weather and just battling through some things. I'm so grateful for our team. I'm grateful for my family and friends helping me through.

Daniel...former dairy farmer here....I've dumped buckets of soured colostrum. Cleaned out the overflow catch. Cleaned birthing stalls. You don't want any part of soured sap!

Ugh, I feel you on the autoimmune stuff. I wasn’t able to do anything all summer or fall and most of winter. I just started a new diet and finally feel better after 4 years and just started getting my new 300 tap bush set up last week, new collection tank, and haven’t even picked up my new/used evaporator yet. So behind, but I’m hoping to be able to start tapping a portion of it this week. Couldn’t even get my new shack built last summer so I’ll be boiling outside again. But this summer the 14x20 shack is 100% going up. Hope you feel better. Not sure what you have going on exactly but do yourself a favor and look into the carnivore diet. I’m 3 months in, down 42 lbs and feel better than I have in 4 years… actually longer… I feel like I’m in my 20’s again. And I’ve been off all meds for those 3 months as well. My psoriatic arthritis is in complete remission.

With Red Maples, our sap content in a good year is 1.5 and in a low sugar year 1.1

Great to see you back! I was wondering if you were still going to boil syrup and where. Now it all makes sense. Got some sap over the weekend and I think it's just enough to sweeten the evaporator.
