He could of said that black families are better off with both parents in the home and use today data to support his argument but that wouldn't have gotten the reaction he needed! Excellent video. My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life as anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her...

I have been in such a situation. My relationship ended about two years ago, but I could not let her go, so I had to do all I could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual adviser who helped me bring her back, now we are back together, and I must say I am enjoying every moment.

I think the problem isn't just what he said but the context of it. He's trying to mix up the state of black families and politics to imply that being Conservative somehow will bring black families back together. We have issues of culture and society that have got nothing to do with whether people are voting Republican or Democrat. There is no magic wand that these politicians can wave that will solve those issues. And just remember as soon as you give these guys your vote they will quickly forget you. Tell me I'm wrong.

But being conservative ie conserving the things you think are important and raising children with a mother and father together as a team probably would have better outcomes for children and families as a whole.

I look at conservatism as the nuclear family (man and woman), several things spin off from that. Graduation rates go up, children tend to be more disciplined when a father is in the house, especially having dads in their daughter’s life. This breeds better all around people, more family structure, a sense of morality (less Sexy Red’s), more marriageable men and women. More generational wealth from home ownership, these people start businesses, the positives go on and on. Go to a Democrats campaign rally in black areas, they have speakers that come to speak to single black women, go to a Latino/Mexican campaign rally, the same Democrats are talking to them about FAMILY. This is the mental plantation that Liberalism causes….

@@terrenceevans726 This statement is all over the place & lacks any logical coherence. Capitalism unchecked doesn't lead to disparity because any "disparity" is a market opportunity that can only be remedied through the free market. You're just stringing buzzwords together in a pisspoor attempt to make an excuse for your failed liberal philosophy & policies.

In those days women’s opportunities weren’t so readily available. The divorce laws weren’t as established and let’s remember that the government along with the welfare department especially on slightly educated black women. Let’s not forget that the marriage stats have also affected white families and societies at large.

I wish you would have played a little more of Joy talking at the end because it only got worse. She ended up bringing up an example of a teenage boy who was beaten and killed while his father was held at gunpoint and forced to watch in the 40’s. And then she had the nerve to basically say that during Jim Crow, father’s were useless and couldn’t defend their homes to further the point that Byron shouldn’t have used that as example. Which in my opinion was a disgusting statement to make. That’s like saying that Jewish fathers were useless because the Nazis came and took there children and forced them into labor camps. No one would ever say or even think that because they were obviously put into a position where they couldn’t defend themselves. But I think that just goes to show how little integrity Joy has and also her hatred of black men. No one that respects black men would ever make a statement like that. I couldn’t imagine walking around with all that anger and hate in my heart. She must be truly miserable.

He didn't need to mention jim crow. He should've just said that during the timeframe from 1865-1964, Black American families were intact until welfare was given to Black American single women & her children, as long as a man was not involved in her & their children's lives. Women chose or were convinced to choose those government benefits over the father of their children. By saying "during jim crow" an implication can be made that he was giving credit to that white supremacist racist system for Black American families being together. That system had nothing to do with Black American families being intact. The welfare & child support systems are the reasons Black American families were broken up. Women chose the money & benefits over husbands & fathers.

Donalds was juxtaposing an earlier era in American history (Jim Crow) during which 80% percent of black families found it possible to stay intact and thrive despite all the systemic racism they had to endure, with the current "enlightened "era where less than 30% of black families are intact. There was nothing wrong with him referencing Jim Crow. Just a bunch of foolishness.

also, this is a false argument Anton, as slaves,we did not have the right to be married. We didn’t have those right until the 1900s ,so when we were’’ allowed ‘’to be legally ‘’married’’ Of course, we could only marry our own RACE.I would imagine that on plantations, weren’t even seen as human. We could not be legally married. In the 1950s and 60s as opposed to calling it the ‘’ Jim Crow era,’’which is probably what people are upset about, as opposed to just referring to that time. When we were able to legally marry, of course we married the only people we were allowed to marry, which was our own,so of course marriage was highest..?

What Byron said is historic fact! There’s empirical evidence that between 1940 and 1960, the black community was strong b/c we VALUED the nuclear family and the men who led them. The Civil Rights Act changed all of that. If you need more proof, just research the family structure/dynamic and correlative outcomes (economic, education, and succession) for the Asian, Hispanic, African and SE Asian immigrant communities in the US, particularly in those regions with large black populations/communities. They all have thriving community while we only have black neighborhoods.
