Well simple solution. Don't go out in public or dont go out dressed up like that. In the US we can film or take photos of anything and anyone we can see from public. Cons are still considered a public area though the venue can make rules about the use. But that only applies to when you are inside the building and not in any publicly accessible area. Getting upset about it is just stupid and childish unless you have reasonable articulable suspicion that they took a picture looking up your skirt or something like that, which then would be a crime and yea that's reasonable. But people just taking a picture of you? Grow up.

If I cosplay, of course i want as many people to take my picture as possible, all my hardwork/ time/ money spent on the costume, but the smell, the sweat, and the costume constanly hitting other people and things are real T^T

It's just being polite to ask, also cosplayers would strike poses if they are aware. I wouldn't want to have my photo taken while I'm on my phone or while eating or while I'm still preparing Taking photos without asking is also fine if someone else was already taking photos, the cosplayer is prepared and aware

@@huonglevan2276 it takes more than 2 seconds just to stop you, even more to ask in a coherent and polite manner, and maybe 2 to agree. Now imagine doing the routine several times throughout the whole con. Again, it goes from feeling polite to being bothersome really fast. 2 seconds is what it takes to just take a passing picture. What you described isn't an exception, snapping pictures when someone else is doing is still impolite, since you still didn't get permission, they did. So your exception goes against your very own argument. Your last paragraph makes even less sense. How are they not available when they're just standing there? Now this doesn't sound right. On the flipside, nobody likes a diva, if one has to ask one cosplayer special permission for a photo and doesn't have to ask another, they will go for the less bothersome option.
