My Mom lived to be 102 1/2 . Like my sister said "She LIVED to be 102, not just existed". At 100, we went on a 3000 mile road trip. She absolutely loved going for rides. All the grandkids and great grandkids were very close to her. Can't beat family.

My uncle just turned 100 years old on May 14. He still drives and goes to the grocery store, the American Legion every morning for coffee and breakfast. Visits his wife's grave every week. Such a special man. There was an article in his local paper as he was a war veteran. A ex-ray tech in the service and after at the VA hospital in Butler Pa. He accomplished so much in his life good, bad and sad. He's such an intelligent man. He built his home by himself also. He and my Aunt lost their youngest son at the age of 21 with brain cancer that they cared for at home until he passed. It's like you said they are still living life. Thank you for sharing. I loved seeing your grandmother loving the time with you all! ♥️🙏 Happy Birthday 🎂🎈 🎉

I remember meeting my great grandmother several times. And it was in Seattle! She lived in Vancouver, B.C., so sometimes we would travel part way (from Portland) to meet. It didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but now I realize how significant it was being maybe 50 years later. I remember being dumbfounded when she picked up a sheet of paper and scissors and she would seemingly magically produce little cutout cows, horses, and cats! What a great skill!

I could tell the seasons were changing at home from that first shot. We've been seeing pretty cold stuff still from y'all and that was definitely a sign of warmer times coming. How about that amazing sky? Definitely a sign that we have a benevolent Creator. Happy birthday to the two of you. It still amazes me when y'all say your son just turned 14. He seems so much more mature than that. I guess that just means you're raising them well. Thanks for sharing all you did of your trip to Seattle. I think I could be happy there because I love the rain and cooler temps, but I'm in central Texas, and we don't get a lot of either of those. Love that you're making sure that the generations of your family are close. That's so important in our development as whole humans. Thanks for all that you do and all that you share. You are life brighteners for sure!

The problem with buying bagged 'garden soil' and bulk compost is that they are made from decomposed forest products. You need actual soil. Try harvesting your own soil from a low area near a streambed on your property. Decomposed wood has its place, but it will consume nitrogen, not add it to your garden. You need stabilized, organic soil, like is found in an area that floods.

Thank you for sharing your Grandmother with us. What a wonderful experience for your children. My parents and grandparents are all gone now but my memories of them will last me the rest of my life. It brought great joy to me watching your children with her.
