Having children can really make a person see a situation differently and give a person strength to speak up b/c you don't want them to ever experience something like that. So often young people are sold a dream of being "a star" when really they are being manipulated. Once someone controls your finances they damn near own you. I used to work at a DV shelter & the number one reason women would go back was because they didn't want to live in a shelter on years long waitlists. I also feel this was a smart move. Tell it and let the people know (and hopefully warn some women) and get your money to pay for all that therapy and rehab to recover from this situation. I pray that everyone involved gets the help they need.

This wasn’t a lawsuit. She filed a complaint with the courts. He just chose to settle in order to prevent it from going further. Doesn’t mean he won’t meet his charges someday. If it’s her then there’s others besides Virginia A. who told Tasha K. her story a few years ago.

For the first time ever in my life, I met someone who was a victim of domestic abuse. I saw the black eyes in her face. I saw the medical tag of the time she spent in the hospital. I heard her apologize constantly for her appearance. It shook me to my core, even as a man. I can only imagine what Cassie went through, so, I pray anyone who has been affected by in this way, and in this light speaks up on the truth before it’s too late.

I have young nieces and nephews and they are so immature and unknowingly sometimes. I wouldn’t want anyone taking advantage of them. I joined the military when I was 20 and was taken advantage of in different ways by people older than me. I completely agree that Cassie was old enough to understand and report his abuse but I also understand what it’s like for someone with influence to use it to take advantage. I will also say this, Cassie knew in advance what he did to Kim porter just like Gina (diddy asian side chick) knew what he was doing to Cassie. It’s like a loud secret where everyone is aware of what he does but the money is too good to walk away from. I watched alot of KZfaq videos regarding this and was specifically waiting for RRG ❤. I don’t think anyone is surprised but apparently this lawsuit was only made public 5 years to the day of Kim porters death but has been going on for months. I was thinking Cassie maybe shouldn’t have settled but her and her lawyers were smart about it. She got her testimony out there basically without anyone questioning her like in an actual trail and the court docs are out made public and won’t go away. She did what needed to be done. I feel like she wrote the book that Kim porter couldn’t put out with her lawsuit docs. Going public.

Thank you for sharing Cassie’s story. I was in an abusive relationship for almost 3 years. I felt my home with 2 bags while I was 7months pregnant in an attempt to seek safety for myself and my child. I filed for a restraining order but a court in CA dismissed it. Now we are in court fighting over custody and the same judge that dismissed my restraining order is making aggressive visitation orders that is forcing me to ween my 7month old before she is ready. My abusive ex warned me he is going to fight to get custody and take her from me… at this point I’m horrified that he may be successful. Why do I feel I’m being punished for having the audacity to flee abuse? Why is there no support, protection in the legal system?

For any person that find themselves in a position that feels all too familiar to this one, please use the number at the end of the video, tell a trusted loved one and plan your escape wisely. You are stronger than you think, and what’s most important in this moment is not why they do it, how you got in this position, or even if they love you. What’s important is you finding your way out. There’s life after trauma. There’s healing to be had with your name on it❤
