Hello, Neighbor, I have 4 acres over there in North Central Florida. I have been clearing it myself and we about to go under contract for a home build. Looking forward to getting out of the city and on my 4 acre sand box. Yes the sand does get into everything. Keep some kind of smooth waterproof surface near your living quarters egress to rinse off and help keep the sand outside. Get a white quality canopy to put over your camper. It will help ease the tin can in the sun effect. Good on you young lady. Stay strong you will do well.

I’m gunna tell u soaker panel and a boat battery with a window shaker just for the night will make life so much easy or ice a fan and a bucket with holes. Nice way to cool off

We did leave for now but we might be headed back up sooner or later if the Lord allows. We miss our mountains :)

Hey oh! We have similar land in a similar location..have you had any trouble with permits or even living on the land. They said we could not live on the land while building. Did you say anything or just start?

Yes, they did say that you can’t live on the land. But you can vacation for 30 days in your RV, go elsewhere and come back. We stayed and had no issues. Really depends on your neighbors complaining. Permit for building or putting up manufactured home in this county took almost month to get. All together it took 7 months till we got a CO to move in. No power until you get that.

I hauled my trailer in then planted bushes to block the road view and entrance. Only get in trouble if your known about.

You need to get a diesel generator propane is not the way to go

I liked propane because it was a cleaner way of running the generator. But it was temporary, if we had to go longer I would do diesel. Thanks

How hard is it to find land for of grid

Hi Amanda, not that hard if you know what to look for. Let me know if you need any help. I do sell Real Estate in TN but pretty familiar with land in Florida and off grid living.

@@sweetlyedenfarms Great videos. I am planning on getting married in about a year and then moving back down to somewhere around Sarasota, Clearwater or StPetersburg. Would love to be off grid but if we have to be hooked up and just not use it that may be an option if it is forced. Do any off grid areas exist in the area I designated?

@@Biokemist-o3k it may be possible in Arcadia its very rural. Sarasota is pretty strict.

@@sweetlyedenfarms I lived in Sarasota when I was going for my PhD in chemical engineering at USF. That is a great idea. Arcadia is still considered part of the South even though most people do not consider Florida being Southern..lol

We did use solar for outsides lights and to charge RV battery. But it would be hard to solar to run an AC

I’m saving up for 500 square off grid foot tiny house. Right on you guys should look into bio digester and get free methane gas/fertilizer

Just keep in mind where you will live. This part of Florida has a 600 sqft minimum and they will make you jump through hoops to get your CO (Certificate of Occupancy) Every county is different. Thanks for this info, we do composting.
