11:21, Natalie Portman as Padme is beautiful in this movie especially in this scene. Poor Anakin didn't stand a chance. Fun fact Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in the original trilogy has stated she was jealous at the number of beautiful costumes they gave Natalie. If I remember the quote correctly it was like "I think my character changed outfits 7 times in all three movies. But with my mother every time she changed a scene she was in a different outfit" 🤣😂

@@bryce253 You're literally insane. He's an adult. He's been an adult for a whole year. He's able to make adult decisions on who he is with. Also, that old saying about women maturing faster is a half myth. GIRLS mature faster because biologically once puberty hits, they need to have the maturity to carry and birth a child. But after that, their maturity basically dead-ends. Male maturity is more of a long, long, slow burn. By adulthood, it really doesn't matter anymore.

I was a kid when these were in the theaters and I knew immediately who the Sith Lord was. I was actually confused because “why is the big bad guy being good here?” until the second movie when I finally realized he was playing both sides against each other. Also, the whole Yoda sequence at 31:00 was one of the best theater-going experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The entire audience was cheering, clapping and whistling from when we saw Yoda’s shadow until Dooku escaped.

Its also a fascinating fact that the major players in this trilogy are Masters and their Padawans, starting with Yoda. Yoda trained Count Dooku who trained Qui Gon who trained Obiwan who is training Anakin. Then after the Empire in the original trilogy, Luke, the son of Anakin is trained by both Obiwan and Yoda. So it kinda went full circle

This movie will always be 5 stars for me strictly for the Coruscant scenes. Those opening visuals of the chase through the city are the best CGI I have ever seen. The concept of the planet had always intrigued me. So correct the Clone Troopers are in many ways the precursor to the Imperial Stormtroopers. The Clone Troopers have accelerated aging, Generation 1 Clones are the older clones we see in this film who are 10 years old but physically in their 20s to early 30s. The biggest difference between Clone Troopers and the Stormtroopers we see in the Original Trilogy is that Stormtroopers were made up of enlisted civilians of the Empire rather than Clones of a single person. There's also the Imperial Army who we never see in the films (Show up in Andor) but there the backbone of the Imperial Military wearing militant cameo clothing with chest armour and an open helmet. The Stormtrooper program was separate though and are seen as the Elite soldiers of the Empire with there shinny white armour being on all the Military propaganda posters. Stormtroopers are much more loyal to the Empire while the Army is just people getting by in life by joining the army. Clone Trooper armour were also inspired by Mandalorian armour with the T visor similar to Boba Fett and his Father Jango Fett. But the white armour of course is similar to the Stormtroopers. Clone Troopers also have much more colour on there armour to symbolise their ranks compared to the plain white Stormtroopers. But not long after Attack of the Clones (Showcased in Clone Wars) different units had there own colour so for example the 501st Legion had blue makings while the 212th Attack Battalion had Orange. So not long after the First Battle of Geonosis the idea of rank colours was thrown out for unit colours. The films basically skip The Clone Wars conflict so you'll not see alot of it in these films as it's not the main focus, Attack of the Clones ended with the beginning of the conflict while Revenge of the Sith jumps right to the end. That's why there's 7 Seasons of The Clone Wars TV show, basically Lucas regretted not focusing more on the Clone Wars and decided to get a team together and create an Animated Series focused on this conflict with Anakin, Obi Wan, and a newly introduced character called Ahsoka Tano. Filling in the gaps between the films. Overall I like elements of Attack of the Clones but I do prefer side stories set around this film like the original Battlefronts. Also it's crazy how a throw away line like "You fought in the Clone Wars" in a 1977 gave birth to decades worth of media from the original 2003 Clone Wars series to Attack of the Clones, Video Games, Comics, Novels, and the 2008 to 2021 The Clone Wars series.

I love the prequels, but I suspected that they were likely going to hurt Christensen's career by the end because of the often awful, wooden and cringeworthy dialogue he was given by Lucas. Every time I watch the prequels, I feel horrible for the guy having to try and squeeze something out of the terrible material he was given to work with (ie "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil."). I am actually more surprised that Portman didn't suffer the same fate. Lucas is a genius when it comes to crafting a story, but his dialogue writing, especially in the prequels, is quite frankly subpar at best.

I've been looking forward to this one. 😊 This is considered to be the weakest of the prequels. I wished that Anakin and Padmè's romance and some of the dialog was written better. But the scene with Anakin at the Tuskan Raider camp with his mom was a great scene. And it was his first step towards the Dark Side. And I loved the Yoda vs. Count Dooku lightsaber duel. Loved seeing Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, Ian McDiarmid, and Natalie Portman back. Loved Christopher Lee as Count Dooku. And we now have Hayden Christensen(who's a great actor)now in the role of Anakin Skywalker. When you both have the time, I highly recommend checking out the "Clone Wars" animated series. Since you both have already watched all of the movies, "The Clone Wars" takes place in between the "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith" movies. And it gives the characters much more depth. I'm already so excited for the "Revenge of the Sith" reaction! It's my favorite movie of the prequel trilogy. Looking forward to the next reaction. Right before that he comes home on the speed bike with his dead mom and Padme sees him carrying her. She obviously knows what he did and how upset he must be. The next scene of him saying how he feels is just repeating what the first one did visually. Show don’t tell. As a director your showing a visual medium, not a eBook.

Hi, Shawna and Vince!! I’m so glad that you’re getting a better understanding of how huge these franchises are for us fans, freaks, geeks and nerds, and enjoying it as much as we still do! Keep it up, and I can’t wait to see your reaction to the conclusion of the prequel trilogy where everything comes full circle. See you for the next and last one!!

Anakin was 9 years old in Phantom menace. Padme was only 14. Though Natlie Portman was 16 at the time. When Anakin sees Padme again he is 19 years old and she is 24. Honestly a 5 year age difference is not a big deal. I met my future husband when I was 16 and he was 23. We were only friends and Co workers for a few months shy of 2 years before we started dating. Though we did secretly fall inlove around 8 months before I turned 18 but neither of us admitted our feelings to one another. My husband Justin was a gentleman and he respected my age and he was waiting patiently for me to turn 18 until he would confess his love to me. But my mother came to realize his love for me and she highly approved of him. He was truly a good man and she gave him her blessing to date me. I had dated guys in the past who were 2 or 4 years older than me. I grew up so fast and was far more mature than guys my age. So I actually got along better with older guys. Most people thought I was 19 or 20 years old because I did not look my age at all nor did I act my age. Mine and Justin's age difference never once bothered us. And I can honestly say that when we became a couple close to my 18th birthday, not one person said anything negative about our relationship. Everybody was so happy and supportive for us. Even at work. Infact it's actually extremely common in the south for some girls to marry between ages 17-20 years old and sometimes their husband's are 4 to 5 years older. My own mother and grandmother married at 17 years old. My great grandmother married at 15 and her husband was 21. I have am older friend whose husband is 17 years older than her. And they are still very much inlove. Time has flown by since I first met my husband in 2003 when I was 16. We started dating in 2005 just weeks before my 18th birthday. We got married December 2006 when I was 19. We will be celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary this December. I'm now 36 years old and he is 43. I honestly cannot stand it when people belittle a teenagers feelings. I and my friends might of been young teens when we found our true loves but that doesnt mean it was not real. A teenager if mature and wise can indeed enter into a true committed relationship you can build a beautiful marriage upon. And age is just a number. My own mother was practically treating me like I was an adult at 15 years old because I was so responsible and was also a caregiver and helped her and my Gran at times when their health was really bad. I worked odd jobs till I was 16 and saved up money and bought a used car with my own money to try to make things easier on my single mother who had bad health. I know some teens today who want to sow wild oats and party and sleep around etc might not be ready for a serious commitment but I was more than ready to be a wife at 19 and I've never once regretted it. And I'm a Christian and live within Gods boundaries and never before have I had any desire to party and get drunk or do frugs or sow wild oats. I saved myself for my husband. And I couldn't of asked for a kinder man to call my husband. Together we serve God and build our marriage up on a strong rocky foundation of Jesus. And so that is why I don't think some folks who are not use to seeing an age difference in relationships can be a little prejudice about it. That's as narrow minded as somebody trying to shame somebody for being in a mixed race relationship. I see nothing wrong with it. Even Moses in the Bible had a dark skinned wife. Love is love no matter what race or age you are. I hope in time others see that. Honestly 5 years age difference between Anakin and Padme is not a big deal at all. Anakain was a 19 year old man in this movie. It's not like he was a minor for goodness sakes. I was 19 even I married my husband who was 26 years old. And it was the happiest day of my life.

The arena was my favorite moment in the entire movie. The Jedi stand-off is a super cool and underrated moment. Ahmed Best had two roles in this movie. Aside from Jar Jar Binks, he also portrayed a Jedi named Achk-Med Beq. Sir Christopher Lee was a fantastic actor for many years. May he rest easy.

I'm surprised you guys haven't figured out who Darth Sidious really is. You've already seen him lots of times in both Episode 1 and 2. A few notes. It's "Emperor", not "Empire." The little boy, Boba Fett, is in fact the same Boba Fett you guys saw in Episode 5 and 6. The count's name is "Dooku" pronounce Doo-Koo. As far as Anakin's attitude in this movie, it's all based on what was said previously. Children who are born Force-sensitive are normally identified and trained at a very young age so they don't form attachments. Anakin started his training at 9 years old. That's 9 years worth of attachment and heavy emotions which affect his behavior. This is why the Council didn't want him to be trained. Technically he's going through that teenage rebellious phase, which is more dangerous because those feelings can lead him to the dark side. The clones themselves do not become stormtroopers, but that's a story for much farther down the line. Keep going. Great stories are own their way.

The concept that C3P0 was made by Darth Vader on Tatooine, leaves to go to Coruscant, ends up on the moisture farm where A New Hope Starts, ends up with the rebels, then gets stolen by Jawas and sold back to the same exact moisture farm he was just at a few years ago on the planet he was made while on the run from the person who made him is just... so insanely ridiculous.

There were a few reasons behind Mace Windu's purple saber color. First its Samual L Jackson's favorite color and he requested it. The other reason is due to Mace practiced a certain lightsaber form known as Vaapad. Mace used his own inner darkness and focused it for something good he touched the dark side without fully falling to it. Put the blue of a Jedi guardian and the red of the Sith together and you get purple. Which is one of the reasons George Lucas agreed to Samual L Jackson's request to have a purple colored blade. This is also why Mace lasted as long as he did both in this episode and in episode 3.

Fun Fact? In Legends, part of Jango's backstory is that a group of Jedi were tricked into fighting him and soldiers. Jango was the only survivor on his side and he killed three Jedi before he was defeated. However, Obi-Wan is a VERY good Jedi and Mace Windu is the current Master(Leader) of the Jedi Order, which Yoda being the Grandmaster, aka considered the most respected and wisest Jedi in the order.

“Anakin is immature”. I mean, that’s kind of the point as: 1. He’s only 19 2. Vince is on the money in that if Qui-Gon was alive, Anakin and his emotions would be in check. Given that Obi-Wan and the Jedi tell all to repress their feelings, Anakin doesn’t know how to act (or flirt) around Padmé Also in Ep1, Anakin was 9 and Padmé 14, meaning here they are 19 & 24; so their age difference is 5 years

27:25 There are 7 Basic forms of Lightsaber combat, but centuries of peace in absense of any true conflict, Jedi devoted their efforts to mastering a mixed balanced form which had little supreme defensive use. As such of the 212 Jedi sent to Geonosis, only 30 survived. Jedi who practiced extensively Form III (Soresu) like Obi-Wan were more capable of defending themselves against heavy volumes of fire.

Jango Fett is a Mandalorian and they have a long history with fighting with the Jedi, so they know what each other are about. Anakin is the perfect example on why Jedi are not allowed to have attachments. You see hints of it in this movie and obviously in the next. The arrogance and the hubris of the Jedi are strong in these prequel movies. A perfect example is when Obi Wan was at the library looking for a planet. And little miss snooty Jedi replied, if the system is not in our archive, it simply doesn't exist. I did not miss that comment on first viewing when this movie came out. With great pride, comes a great fall.
