No, they have some songs only released on MV and they are excellent and you want to hear the epic sound quality on the MV’s. I personally love the Domination MV and find no suckage at all. The thrash metal section is much better on the MV than on the live imho 🤷🏻‍♂️. But you’ll see - it doesn’t matter - once you become a Maidiac (after the second or third song 😅), you’ll want to see everything 😂✌🏼

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

Thanks for your reaction. Band Maid transformed how I think about music. There are official concert videos for Freedom, Onset and Play which I think are good introductions to how they sound live (Domination as well). MVs like Dice, Blooming, Daydreaming and Rinne are very good compositions. They still develop and have made two full albums and some more releases after World Domination. Songs like Warning, No God and Black Hole are obvious recommendations. Have fun. :)

Great react, fellas. I discovered these ladies during COVID lockdown. They have become my favorite band of the last 30 years, and because of their consistent quality and diverse sound, maybe all-time. They're great in the studio, but phenomenal on stage. The live version of this song is a common entry point for many ppl, but this song is not in my top tier. I recommend: - Manners. Both MV and live are great, but the live 2fer with Black Hole is an amazing pairing. - Blooming. MV. Best composition. Incredible from the bridge-->out. - Play. Live. For me the quintessential Band Maid. - Freedom. Live. The song that sold me on the band. Simpler rock song with an amazing solo. - Influencer. MV. One of their newest songs. I cannot get the bass out of my head. But really you can just pick anything on their channel (or out of their entire discography). They're all great.

Welcome to Band-Maid Po! In my opinion the greatest hard rock band in existence. Please, do yourself a big favour, check this song out live. ("Domination" official live version from their channel). It is 1000% better, longer and with added solo's. Live is where it's at with this band. They are extremely talented. They have been going 9 years with no line up changes. They don't stick to any one genre. Primarily a hard rock band you will hear punk, pop-punk, classic rock, metal, prog, blues, funk and jazz from these ladies - sometimes in one song. They can be really heavy and melt your face off or make old punks sob with a ballad. They do a mean line in acoustic songs too. Their US tour (sold out) is about to start in a few weeks. See you soon!

Guys, I know it sounds exaggerated, but with these ladies, you hit the jackpot when it comes to hard rock music! :) For quite a few, they are at the top of the genre's food chain. Actually, you read more and more often, and I am also inclined to say it, that they have created their very own genre with their versatility, which they have impressively proven in the last 9 years time and time again. Just today, for example, they were part of a concert stream for the game 'Genshin Impact' in which they performed one of the original classic pieces beautifully and emotionally. The possibilities they have through their talent, which applies to each one of them, are almost limitless and from my point of view, they use it better than any other current band in this genre. By now they have far more than 100 songs in their catalog, of which one may be better than the other, but *not a single one* can be labeled 'bad'. The number of bands you can say that about is probably very manageable. :) If you're already convinced, wait until you see their live performances, because they are anything but a studio band, even if that's where the magic may happen. I'm even inclined to say that you should dedicate another video to this song, but to its live version you can also find on their channel. If you want to hear something different, I recommend 'Freedom (Official Live Video)'. You will understand what I mean, I promise!!! 😉🤘🏻 Greetings from Germany. _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊

If you are interested in their gear it is currently as follows:- Misa (bass) endorsed by Black Cloud through Orange Miku (rhythm) endorsed by Zemaitis using an EVH 5150 Kanami (lead) endorsed by PRS with a Mesa Boogie triple rectifier Akane (drum) endorsed by Tama Saiki (vocals) prior to her vocal chord surgery she used Shure KSM8 Dualdyne, post surgery Sennheiser e935 I believe. Early on in their careers Misa used a Fender jazz and briefly a G&L, her Black Cloud basses are very similar in body style to her Fender except for an SG style bodied bass. Kanami played an Addictone modern series guitar and was endorsed by them for a while. Miku who didn't play guitar when the band formed was told to buy any guitar and she got a Rickenbacker basically because she thought it was pretty. As she learned to play I understand Kanami hated it's tone and lent her one of her Addictones, not sure how the Zemaitis hookup came about but they have done Miku proud even to the extent that she has her own signature Zemaitis "Flappy Pigeon". They also used variously Blackstar and Marshall amps early on. Akane started off with a Sonor kit I think. If I have any of this wrong I am sure someone will put me right.

Just use the videos from the official YT page, maybe pause occasionally and it should be fine. Some don't even do that much really. They usually put up their entire catalogue on YT, not just videos. Entertaining reaction. (the final volume is definitely low on this video, but not the regular recording)

Although we know that music is subjective and difficult to rank, we, Band-Maid fans sincerely believe that our band is the best in the world, simply because even when we grew up in the 70's and 80's in the era of the biggest bands, we don't know of any other better band that is exerted a similar musical influence on ours and made us love music again as in our youth. It's okay if we don't agree about the music, but what is objective is that this band is the best example of how a music band should look and function. The members have incredible chemistry on stage, but also in their private lives they are like sisters, even though they are completely different in character. The same can be said for the chemistry between the band and the fans, the mutual respect and love has been shown and proven countless times so there is nothing fake about that relationship. The biggest shakeup in the band's history happened when drummer Akane changed her costume and stopped wearing the tiny hat anymore. Even though it happened 4-5 years ago, many fans are still complaining about it. No one ever complained about the music and the biggest nightmare of the fans is that one of the members leaves the band for some reason. You shouldn't even joke about it. Thanks for the great reaction and for promoting our maids because today it's hard for rock bands even when they play phenomenal music to break through to a wider audience.

Misa plays a variety of custom Black Cloud basses (she's using her 5 string Black Smoker in this video) with, as you noted, Orange amps. Miku (founder, backup vocals, lyrics, rhythm guitar) plays Zemaitis Guitars (her main is a custom line built for her called the Flappy Pigeon) and Kanami (lead guitar, composer) uses PRS guitars. Akane (drums) plays a kit of mainly Tama drums with Zildjian cymbals. I really look forward to watching another Band Maid reaction in the near future!

Yes, they play their instruments. They are highly talented and very professional. They write, and produce their songs having complete control of their music. Their US tour starts this week at the Aftershock festival. Then they begin their 13 city tour. Formed in 2013 by Miku Kobato (red flower), major breakout was "Thrill" in 2015. Their "Live" MV's are better than the studio MV's. Suggestion: "Domination" Live followed by "Freedom" Live.

As others have said: you’ve started right with Band Maid, one of if not the best rock band I’ve heard in my 59 years. You should dive into the Japanese metal/rock rabbit hole, it’s deep-Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Lovebites, Bridear, Fate Gear, Hagane, Hanabie, Trident and many more, they play by their own rules disregarding tropes and genres and just making great music!

And Rock and Roll said: "You will love BAND-MAID above all things". BAND-MAID is a band out of the ordinary in every way. Miku Kobato the rhythm guitarist and co-vocalist is the creator of the band and the one who usually writes the lyrics of the songs, she is the main frontwoman of the band. The leader of BAND-MAID was the drummer, Akane Hirose, the goddess of tempo, by democratic election among all of them, but nowadays none of them is the leader of BAND-MAID. Saiki Atsumi, the lead vocalist concentrates on that, although when she takes the lead in the song she takes over the whole stage. Misa the bassist usually plays barefoot and although it seems that she is always a bit in the shadows her bass shines constantly throughout the song and Kanami Tono, the lead guitarist, is the personalization of the Magic, which at times is Black at times is White but always bewitches you, she is the composer of most of the songs of the Band. Their Rock does not conform to any genre or any established pattern, they own their own style, both visually and musically. You can call it The BAND-MAID Rules. If you have time to dig a little deeper you will never ever want to go back to the surface. "🤘🤘 B A N D M A I D H E A D ! ! ! 🤘🤘" Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Thank you psychos for giving them a listen. Studio version always sound tad too compressed. That's why most fans prefer live version. They have so many dimensions, so versatile like you don't believe. They go slower and mellower or harder and faster, or more groovy, experimental. Drummer incorporates a little reggae-ish fills in heavy songs like this. It's not just the speed and heaviness. Your journey with the Maids will be an exciting one, guaranteed 👍

Welcome aboard, Eric & Kyle. You are embarking on (along with many others - 150 million YT views plus over 30 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (124 songs with their new album “Unleash” dropping September 21, 2022), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i8qjaspkspOYnIU.html Their later songs from albums Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bbJykqiBuJqceHk.html) And many songs are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. kzfaq.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:  ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pKeUitF6t9CrkZ8.html  Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th “Domination” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8iphKZ705zWiZs.html  ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y9eBoa56sbiZpWQ.html  Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (Full concerts from the last two songs are on bandmaidprime.tokyo and DVD/BD/CD) And some of the better quality 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues:  Taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lcVhp8toyNrLfaM.html  And by JOSER8845 in LA: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q9mHjdmdrK2og6c.html. If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 28 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 30 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 29 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS]  BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo  Got your tickets yet? BAND-MAID's 14 gig USA tour is all but SOLD OUT! HOWEVER, they just added two more venues in New Jersey Oct. 30 (4,000 seats), and Chicago, Nov. 1. I will add a second and third vote for live versions as these ladies are much more energetic in their live shows. I truly feel that they feed off of the energy that they get back from the audience. Their music is a great blend of different styles and they are noted for their great choruses which have a great hook to them. Kanami is their lead guitarist and composer,; Miku is the leader of the band, plays rhythm guitar and backup vocals; Saiki is the lead vocalist and has great stage presence; Misa slaps and picks the bass with a vengeance; and Akane beats the hell out of the drums and shows a great flair. Each band member contributes to the great over all sound and tightness of each performance. First several times that I've heard this band over two years ago brought tears of joy to my eyes because they were so good.

Yea the live version is insane and is really where Band-Maid makes the biggest impact!! Band-Maid also did the theme song to the live action remake of Kite on Netflix & it rocks. They are also playing Aftershock this year. Along with the House Of Blues in Houston on Oct 22 I believe. Akane their drummer got to meet Jimmy Page who attended one of their concerts in Japan once. He said she is like the reincarnation of John Bonham lol. Miku has a guitar named the Flappy Pigeon. Which is a custom Zemaitis A24 MF FP that is beautiful and I want one lol. Their bassist Misa is known as the Barefoot assassin. As she is often playing Barefoot during live shows lol. 🤘🎸:b

This MV is strangely quiet, but it appears to be something to do with the upload rather than the track itself, which doesn't have the same problem on the CD. I'm not sure why so many seem amazed by women being able to play instruments well...maybe because there are so few all-female bands in the west. In Japan there are a ton of them, both at pro level, and in what seems to be an extensive club circuit.
