Sorry but salad gives you ~0.05$ pr hour. ~20 hours/1$ making it less than 500$ pr year, even if you never turned you computer off. So yes you will be making some money, but don't expect to become a billionare by gaming

The thing you mentioned the Warden might be sleeping underneath is actually more interesting than that. In some snapshots, that structure was labeled as a portal (if anyone has exact name of it, or any details, lmk). Just thought it was interesting, and it may be important for 1.20.

I think it's a small version of the big portal in the middle, so the fact that it was named "portal" there will definitely be something interesting later versions

the actual item name was something like small_portal_statue. Someone dug that up in the game files during one of the 1.19 early snapshots. It was our first indicator from Mojang of what the center object of each city is.

I've got an ancient city very close to my base, and one of my big goals is to restore it. Although, since I'm so freakin lazy, I have no idea when this will happen... Personally, I am not very creative, especially when it comes to decoration, so I'm just gonna follow the original style of the city with minimal additions. By the way, how did you map out the city?

the only way to map underground structures is to either A: Break all the blocks above it or B: at the surface, use carpets to replicate what the ancient city would look like, otherwise it's impossible.

The ancient city has so much potential and can be turned into a base if fully restored and getting rid of all the shriekers so the warden doesn’t wake you up in the middle of the night

I actually tried to restore the ancient city, I restored most of it but I lacked any idea on what the portal looks like without skulk so I had trouble with that, and some of the ruins looked like houses so I rebuilt them and furnished them, after I restored a lot I decided to populate it with villagers.

at 5:33 instead of using levers, use a pressure plate, so when they walk up to it the floor and posts light up, and when they get to the end it turns off.

Damn nice job . I am doing something similar for my hardcore world , but I change the structures with more overworld looking ones replacing blocks with stone bricks , stone , cobblestone etc . I also replaced the giant warden statue in the middle with an iron golem one .

I had this exact same idea as soon as I saw the release wayy back, and now that I've started (even replacing the cracked blocks with regular ones and removing all sculk visible) it is SUCH a daunting task to do it alone. I'm kinda sad that if I post it on r/Minecraft or whatever I'm gonna get called a clout vhaser or whatever. So envious you got there first!

I have moved in an ancient city as well. On two sides, it has very large lava lakes which is cool. I am slowly 'rebuilding it' Ive done the main center structure, and the main roadways are cleared for decorative iron farm on one side and an everymob farm the other (towards the main lava lake. its fun. Plus I shaved off the top 'ground' layer (i had originally wanted to make canals) and since my city generated around -54, I have found tons of diamonds as a side bonus while shaving the streets. (survival server)

yall should build custom biomes at each of the end gateways from the main island. so it would teleport you into the middle of a "new world" thats really just out in the end. can still have both lava and water out there.
