£17 for that tiny portion of fish and chips. Paying for the name, bet it’s no better than some of the places in Whitby or vinegar Jones in the Lake District who has the best chips you’ll find anywhere.

why not try and find the best quality for the least price, for example can you get a good fish n chips for around £5-6? dont keep going to these expensive places, no normal person will pay £17 for fish n chips!

I had to revisit the video. Matt looks at the sea, the fish literary comes out of there?, The restaurant tells you on their menu that the Cod is line caught , but from where? They should state, off the coast of Cornwall? like Matt assumes . I was in Seaford Sussex before the lock down,first class Cod and Chips. Well I haven’t seen any fishing boats nearby? I asked the owner. Mate all the fish are line caught but in Norwegian waters, on a factory ship and we get them boxed up,then we trim the fish to size. Now look at 8.29 left hand, so where is the fish at £17 a pop, and where are the Chips? In the comments, The Mariners, please allay my negative thoughts, at what local market do you buy your Cornish line caught Cod fish.

That’s what you get when you order a fish bite in my local chippie. I’m happy dropping a pound note on decent food but that fish size is criminal for £17. 😬

Sorry to be critical again on one of your videos, but 7.50 for cheese on toast, and 17.50 for small cod, chips and crackling seems a rip off! You are paying for the name I'm afraid. The cod looked no better than the fish at my local hugely popular takeaway, where it would cost 6.50 for larger cod and twice as many chips. It's snobbery at its finest- I mean, that Welsh rarebit/posh cheese on toast for 7.50!!! LOL its a piece of bread, with cheese, eggs, Worcestershire sauce and couple of different seasonings.. (glorified cheese on toast).. half both the prices, say 4 quid for the rarebit and 9 quid for fish and chips, would be about right and you'd still be paying more than anywhere else.. I like value for money, and for me, that was not good value, it was pure snobbery!!! Sorry

Cheese on toast was lazy and ridiculous. I'm offended that they are calling it Welsh by calling it rarebit. Not worth the price. Fools weekend culinary gold. Problem is the have too many south eastern people going there and are relocating there. Too commercial I guess.
