Our start of Summer vacation with our 6 kids to a water park ended with a drowning accident and our 6 year old daughter Gemma spending the past 3 days in the hospital ER after she couldn't breathe. She is now being treated for aspiration pneumonia caused from secondary drowning and is back at home resting. We are thankful that it's looking like she is going to be ok!
Always make sure to watch your children closely around water! Know the symptoms for dry drowning / secondary drowning, (lethargy, fever, cough, wheezing) as kids can have serious problems if water is accidentally inhaled.

As a nurse I can’t believe they sent you home and you had to come back 3 times. Little kids and airway issues are no joke :/ so frustrating but glad she’s doing better!!

Ha! you remind me of Reverend Ike on channel 13 in Los Angeles. He'd put up "the horn of plenty" on the screen and tell parishioners to touch it and expect a miracle. So, one night I was watching and said to my parents "what the heck" I put my hands on the screen. Nothing happened.

Aww Gemma! I hope you are feeling better now. My girls are 10 & 8 and we love GWL! We have gone every 2-3 months for the last few years, it’s so much fun! This could happen to any of us, so it’s great to bring awareness.
