If you want to keep v8s then you also need to live with cylinder deactivation. Or throw out the EPA, good luck with that. The technology works also, it really isn’t a common failure point.

@@NWI_Steel Almost all trucks now days are 4x4 and 99% of buyers don't need or use that. So, if you're going to offer 4x4 at least make sure it's true 4 wheel drive by giving people the locking diffs.....rear and front.

The stacked headlights have literally been gone for a decade. The refresh in 2016 looked MUCH better on the 3rd gen trucks

@@theballintruth3369 okay im thinking of the 14-15 Silverado headlights as stacks. In the 16-18 they went to singles and the 4th gen had singles with the horseshoe under it and the running/turn signal under that. I wouldn't call anything after 2015 a "stacked" headlight at least on the 1500s

New electric silverado is sick! No, I mean it's sick as in fugly! At least the Ram EV pickups looks like real pickups, both the Ram REV and Ramcharger. Even more so than the Ford. Of course I realize that's not important to everyone.

I doubt it. The 5.3 is already just adequate and there are fewer and fewer changes they could make to boost power and fuel economy. The only thing they have left is increasing compression.

Toyota did ask GM, in the 1990s, to supply it the 350/5.7 for use in the then-new T100, but GM basically said no because supply was short. Also, this concludes that it was never in the Tundra. And: The Toyota V8 is an overhead cam (OHC) engine, like practically all other engines today. The GM (Chevrolet) is an overhead valve (OHV) engine. In conclusion, Chevrolet never sold the 5.7L small block engine to Toyota or any other company. It was strictly for GM. Why would GM sell the greatest and most reliable engine ever produced in the truck industry to Toyota? That makes no sense whatsoever. Toyota always makes really terrible cars and trucks.

GM sells the most trucks for the last 5 years straight. GM offers the most configurations, options, 2 different looks in the truck segment. People want good powertrains that are reliable and get the job done they don’t care about 0-60 times. They want user friendly and multiple configuration options. That’s why GM has sold the most trucks for years and continues to do so. Toyota tried the new engine method and failed miserably

Oh wait, if you would have used common sense, maybe you would notice that it wasn't mentioned. I still stated facts, it's not like I lied. Most reliable? Last I checked depending on who you look at. The Tundra still leads in reliability, if not its tied with the Silverado. Also the only engine that's keeping the Silverado relevant when it comes to reliability is the 2.7t. If it wasn't for that the Silverado would be lower on the list. Typically the 2.7t is having less issues with the lifters than either of the V8 counterparts. At least Toyota acknowledges problems with the powertrain. What sort of recall has GM done for the DFM and AFM? Want to know what would fix that issue? A hybrid system where they wouldn't have to use that asinine tech that keeps causing problems with lifters.

No gas savings is worth a massive engine repair at some point. GM had it right in 2006 with the 3rd gen LS V8s. Super reliable. and @omamartinez912 i wouldn't do the Titan because it will be discontinued and i love how easy it is to get parts for GM stuff even 10+ years later. Maybe an F150 if i didnt go for a GM.

@@Commentleaver-c6x Thx for that. I did sit in a Canyon in the showroom and I was actually surprised by the driver's seat ability to move backwards. I believe my legs were or almost fully stretched to the pedals. I am 6' 3"

@@vovachammonet5771 I’m 6’2”. Midsize trucks are really built for small people and the backseats are definitely only for children and very small adults, whether it’s the extended or crew cab version of any manufacturer.

I'm a former ASE Certified Mechanic, and Machinist. I know a thing or two about repairing and maintaining vehicles. Did I baby it, I pulled a boat most weekends during the summer, other weekends a small camper. I used it like a truck is supposed to be used, but didn't abuse it. On the other hand, I didnt just city drive it like so many of these woke, libtard idiots who think there bad ass because they have a truck, you know the fags that have a truck and don't know where the hitch goes let alone know how to back a trailer. Here in my state the interstate I drive has a speed limit of 80MPH. It was ran alot, but not driven to death, and not My truck had 116K on it when the engine went. I tore it down and have rebuilt it. I can confidently tell you that the cylinder deactivation system still worked and operated fine. The crankshaft, cam and lifters were all in excellent condition. The crankshaft only needed a light polish and was good for putting back in service in the rebuild. I have always changed the oil every 4,000 miles. I can also tell you that cylinder deactivation system is complete garbage and that is what caused my engine failure. The cylinders that deactivate are not holding back the combustion pressure they normally withstand under normal operation. These cylinders that are deactivated, begin to load the oil control rings with excessive amounts of engine oil. These series of engines do not have the typical drain back holes or windows as they are sometimes called. Once the rings are loaded full of oil and normal combustion begins again, it produces carbon. The rings carbon up, stick the gaps completely shut, and score the cylinder walls up. It's a common problem and gm had class action lawsuits filled against them for this. So don't unknowingly tell me I don't know why my engine failed as I also rebuilt it and have owned it since it has had 20,000 miles on it. FYI, my 2009 has 193k miles on it, my 2008 has 187k miles and my 2006 CAN Am has over 10K miles on it. None of them have ever had this problem because we're much better built, and doesnt have cylinder deactivation. If you doubt me, I saved the old pistons, if you to want to see proof I can show you. I know many others who are done with crap as well.
