As a div 35 player I can confirm that we don't care about gears and smurfs are annoying and it is a clean run as long as you don't crash

My two gripes about smurfs are that they're usually not good enough sports to DNF, and that in the early rounds they can knock out over half the room by getting ATs in a setting where bronze is a struggle.

I'm a Div25-29 player, and I'd say we usually have Div 5-10 pace, but we don't have Div5-10 consistency.

This makes me feel better about getting like div 10-15 lol, there’s a lot of people out there struggling worse than me but at least they still participate in the cup and try their best, I respect it. This map is very hard to be consistent on even for top players, must’ve been a nightmare for the lower divisions

wdym. Div 10-15 is close to TM nobility. I'm playing for about 9 months now, mostly every day, really trying my best and consistently not getting above 30. Div 10-15 is kinda insanely good.

I only have about 700-800 hours in this game, which is not a lot for trackmania, so I guess I should be proud of myself for doing pretty well in a relatively short amount of time. I just get disappointed in cotd knowing I could’ve qualified with a much better time, but I struggle to fast learn and get a decent time in only 15 minutes

That was actually really fun to watch...I honestly didn't know there were 50 divs...have only ever played one cup of the day and was in D7 and got 8th a week into the game...granted it was the middle COTD so that probably still equated to D50 lol.

FS maps as well could be a big struggle. I don't remember a single easy FS map since May 23 which doesn't lead to at least 10 KOs in first rounds in low divs.

Thing is the time it takes you to learn these maps. It's not that I can't drive fast. I can get within 0,5s to AT in about 45 minutes. But I won't get a good run in 15min, not even close. Discovery run on a 1min map can take me up to 2 minutes. That gives you about 10 tries for a map like that

I got gold rank in my first season ever. For me it is just grinding some maps that are just repeating in ranked, gold elo is free with that strategy Also my highest division (i had some lags while I played cotd’s) was about 8 or 9

Im terrible at learning maps fast, I've been as high as div 4 and as low as 36, I think. If I feel I'm in too low a div I'll play a few rounds but DNF just like the guy in this video.

Same with me, I can drive pretty decent times, sometimes only a second off of wr, but I suck at fast learning maps and fast-executing in quali so I tend to get lower divisions than what i’m capable of which is frustrating

I play for the first time my cup of the day as a new player of course for me i knew it was to be eliminated in the first rounds but my 65h playtime helped get to fourth place xD i still dont understand the divisions but i remember my place more or less i think its was 1450 something like that.

wait? div39 is the lowest? as i started playin TM2020 in april this year my avg div was around 45.. i was lucky when i made it into div40 area (nowadays im avg div20 and though i made huge progress but if 39 is the lowest than i dont improve at all.. im still in the lower half 50% of teh playerbase =( )

Not really. They dnf'd early into the knockout rounds, and for qualifiers the same divisions would have been issued if they had played to their usual standard
