Nice home you got there in the UK, I wonder how the Bulgarian one shapes up in comparison. From what I have seen on videos, they do look a bit 1950s ish

Yea the old ones in Bulgaria look horrendous! I’ve seen a few in person when we went looking to buy before deciding to build.

This is actually a good idea for a video because there's so much to say. For me (David, englishman) it's great. I have been accepted by all. Actually I would say I'm a bit of a novelty to the locals which has made me slightly popular? I'm greatly interested in the self sufficient lifestyle and fixing things so I get stuck into car repairs, chopping down trees, splitting large amounts of firewood, field work etc. Life here goes at a greatly reduced pace compared to the UK. Which is good and bad in some ways. Good because it's so much more relaxing but then ultra frustrating when dealing with any sort of government official (residency papers, car registration etc.). The best way I could sum it up is (unless you have a outside source of income) you come here to trade being money rich to be time rich...which in my opinion is a far greater deal!

What part of Bulgaria did you move to? Do you feel homesick?

We moved to the South West (Bansko area). I see from expat forums most will move to the cheaper areas around the North or close to the sea. Bansko being a ski resort area makes it quite expensive in comparison; especially property prices! As for homesick, yea sure, but the pros outweigh the cons. I’m hoping to make an in-depth video about living in Bulgaria one day, so if you’d like to see something like that be sure to subscribe!
