It's odd how we can have such a weird attachment to a vehicle, but with this absolute marvelous beast of engineering, you start to understand

The 747 has a special place in my heart, i have had fond memories of the 'Queen of the Skies' at Heathrow. I Have spent so many days on Myrtle Avenue watching her make her Landing. I Hoped that BA Weren't Retiring the 747, especially with those retro liveries weren't even a year old. I almost broke down in tears when i went to Heathrow in the Summer of 2020, all i saw was the queen with the covers on the engines and the Padding in the Flight deck windows. i almost went there everyday and saw each of them slowly flying to Kemble and St. Athan. It reminded me of when BA retired the 767. i was one of the lucky ones and flown on one of the last 767's in the BA fleet. They will be missed dearly by everyone at Heathrow.

The sad thing is, they will never be able to buy a Boeing as well built as this ever again. These planes represented Boeing at its peak; when company execs listened to engineers and not accountants. Looking at the state of Boeing now with the KC46, 737 Max and 777X, the company has truly lost a good part of its soul and has work to do in making good on its own reputation

Flew on one back in late 1990s it was such aw inspiring due to how big it was at least for me as I was a little kid back then. To bad they got retired but maybe something bigger will be made in the future that will invoke the same awe when this plane first flew.

The fact the plane was made all the way back in the 60s is shocking how well the technology stood the test of time

747s they were beautiful. Unfortunately I'm not a fan of flying. But when I seen them approach or take off from JFK Because i live near a pattern to JFK. They were huge and iconic and beautiful from the outside.

Even my dad rode an ANA 747-400D from Nagasaki, Japan-Haneda Japan and him riding a Delta 747-400 from Narita, Japan-Ninoy Aquino Airport, Manila Philippines. RIP 747, I now moved on to the A380 due to the luxury onboard it.

Nobody will forget the Queen of the skies, and if I’m honest if there is not many airlines that own the Boeing 747 and if I’m honest I still see them on their flight path from USA to Europe and stuff on the cargo flights.

Flew the 747-8 with Lufthansa last summer from Frankfurt to Mallorca in the Upper Deck Business Class and back in the First Class seats, nevertheless it was considered short haul Business Class, cause there isn‘t a real First Class Service on such a short haul flight. It was a wonderful experience tho. This year on during Easter holidays I flew the 747-400 in the Upper Deck Business Class from Frankfurt to Toronto, with Lufthansa as well. It was a nice experience, but the 744 is kinda loud. The A350 in Lufthansa‘s newer Business Class back to Munich was much more comfortable.

As I personally recall, the Boeing 747 has been produced in various incarnations since 1969. These planes have a gazillion moving parts and they become more expensive to maintain and repair as they start racking up flight hours. They are not fuel-efficient and began declining in popularity in the mid-1970's during the Energy Crisis because of rising fuel costs.
