Жыл бұрын

I'm so excited to finally be able to share our secret project with you, which we started earlier this year for the TV show "Chateau DIY"! We've been living with the finished room for a bit and it's quickly made its way onto my list of favourite rooms in the chateau - especially since the wallpaper we used we had custom made from one of my late father's paintings. It's like walking into a fairytale...
The Chateau Diaries Episode 342 ✨🏰✨
Escape to the chateau with ’The Chateau Diaries’ 🏰
This channel follows the adventures of chatelaine Stephanie in her French 16th century home, the Chateau de Lalande, in the heart of rural France ❤️
We share our life in this ancient chateau in the heart of the French countryside, and show you the diy, renovations, crafts, cooking and gardening that are needed to bring a home like this to life!
A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. You have made The Chateau Diaries one of the top 400 Patreon accounts in the world, and have transformed not only our lives here, but the future of this beautiful chateau! I’m overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will continue to survive and flourish because of you, thank you!!!

...and when Stephanie chose 'Greensleeves' as the quintessential Medieval music to play, matching with her father's exquisite life-size painting (made large)... I was struck with a kind of fugue of mystery and Deja Vu of past-life remembrance of those times... both wonderful and wistful & terror-filled with plagues and endless feuds and wars. Yet the overall effect is that of Chivalry-remembered. Truly, as she said, a step through Narnia's magical door into a mysterious past. I bet Stephanie's father told the BEST bedtime stories if his paintings are an indication of his imagination. She must have had a magical childhood with such artistic and creative parents! ❣

I just toured an Alice in Wonderland themed house online and you have out done it! Amaury needs an apprentice for the internal shutter project and the China room so he can have more time off in the future. Love the input of the whole team, Stephanie, Amaury, Steve, Gerry and Philip. Now Philip gets to hear the stories from Gerry that the family has heard before. Everything you do Stephanie omes from an expression love. All your family and friends helping you also seem to be coming from an expression of love, as well. Amaury is a guardian angel. There's is nothing that can repay him for his dedication and hard work trying to help you realize your dream. Philip supports you in everyway and compliments your esthetics. He has an eye for finding hidden or otherwise unrecognized details that makes things extraordinarily special. Gerry is so loveable and supportive as is Percy. Nati, the Grand coordinator keeps everyone on their toes but in a most dignified, classy way. I cannot forget the Queen Bee, Isabelle, who has energetically worked very hard and has loved in great measure. She is very proud of all you have accomplished. The list is really very long of all the people LaLande has embraced and inspired. Your vlogs have changed the way many people look at their own lives and at the world. It is very easy to get caught up in the negative chaos in the world but LaLande is a living example of how people can ban together with a common cause that is nurturing and uplifting. I have watched every episode and am now beginning to watch the spin-offs as well. God bless you and all the wonderful people who share in your dreams.

Just returned from a three day visit to LeLande and I just have to say that to see this bathroom finished was one of my favorite moments of the chateau tour. It truly is like walking into a painting. The brilliance of the colors and the life size characters on the walls come alive. There is so much happening that there is no need to take a book or magazine in with you when you “have to go” lol. You are transported back in time and just feel so happy in this room. It is my favorite room so far. But, the other thing I remember about the room is the way it smelled. The scent in there was delightful. Whatever it was, it made me think that LeLande needs to market something like that as the chateau’s signature scent.

Much easier to apply with one, just trying to be helpful. Table....brilliant! Red is always difficult. Inherent problems all around on any project...but you did well, Stunning! Absolutely, Absolutely magnificent. I had no idea that a painting could even be turned into wallpaper. Your father was a talented artist and I'm sure he would be over the moon to see his work displayed in such splendor. I love The Chateau Diaries. It is where I come to visit when I want to feel I am in a magical world. Thank you for sharing your dreams with us.

I'm glad it was mentioned that the wall sconces were from Ikea! Labels should be left on for future reference and maybe a laugh! Sometimes something looks very old and original when in fact it's very modern! My father in law had a centre piece candle holder and we all thought it was very old and laughed when we found out he had bought it at the grocery store only 10 years ago!

Gee! Stephanie! How you are able to transform a very small room into a magical room! Having one of your Dad's paintings enlarged is indeed a surprise! Steve is awesome 👌 He didn't disappoint! Philip completes your ideas 💡 👌 Gerald is always ready to lend a hand. Amaury's painstaking on hand contributions into anything that comes up for the renovation of the rooms in the chateau. Congratulations 👏

It's such a wonderfully romantic story how your father's artwork is bringing him so much fame after his death. The story of so many of the greats: Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Gauguin, Seurat, and others... A magnificent tribute thanks to the ingenious minds and hands of a beautiful group of characters.

As I watched this episode, I am crying as the beautiful paper goes up, and I am wondering how am I so lucky and why did the KZfaq algorithm show me this channel, to begin with over two years now? We are still a relatively small group of people that are subscribers in the grand scheme of YT. How did I fall into a channel with people so perfectly aligned with my interests? How lucky am I to have found not only this channel but have been aquainted with all of you talented people at Lalande and also the subscribers that turn out to be quite talented people in their own right. It makes me wonder if we haven't all been together at different times or different places in time because for the loo episode to bring me to tears, is quite puzzling. Stephanie, as ever, Thank you. Hugs.

Bless you Aumary for your hard work and the many hours you give to get the work done. We appreciate all the time you give up to make these things in the Chateau so we the viewers can see such beauty. Great work team of Lalande, now time to rest and recuperate. Many blessings to you all. The greatest loo ever, obviously one would spend more than a penny here. Will be watching the video over and over again. Great work Stephanie, Phillip, Gerald, Aumary, and Stephan, and every one involved. Love and blessings. 😍😍😍

My husband and I found that if we could survive wallpapering together, we could survive anything! LOL It became clear that my job was to just be the "gopher" ( go for this - go for that), keep sponges clean and to be as quiet as possible to allow him to do what needed to be done without comment from me. :>} He was much better at matching patterns and getting the paper on straight. I was much better at picking out the paper - having vision as to how it would all look when we were done. We became a pretty good team. It served us well over our 37 years of marriage until his "home-going in 2020. The paper looks spectacular!

I've watched this video 3 times (4 because I also watched the Patreon video)...it is just so stunning! Your vision for the chateau is awe inspiring...the courtyard, the gardens, the marquis apartment, the little entry way, the tower stairs, the grand salon and a million other projects. I am looking forward to seeing the birdcage bathroom, the apartments, your bedroom/study/closet and so many other areas that you are working on. Also looking forward to seeing the structure you bought for the garden in place and all the furniture and other treasures you have found in the places you have chosen for them. Stephanie, you are positively glowing as the chateau comes back to life!

The Winter Salon is my favorite room in the chateau, mostly because of your our Father's painting, but also the jewel tones of the room, the warmth in winter, the bookshelves, and the fireplace coziness, make it so beautiful. So no surprise, I love how the Loo turned out. Wonderful seeing your brother, cousin, Phillip and you, Stephanie, all squeezed in and transforming the room. Amazing vision.

Absolutely a gorgeous bathroom ❤❤❤Congrats to Steve and you dad for their artistic talent. Amaury is a genius. Cracked up with Gerry, Philip and Stephanie hanging the wallpaper with the jokes and editing certain parts🤣🤣🤣Only to tear up when Gerry was remembering seeing your dad paint this beautiful scene. Your mom’s expression when she first saw was priceless ❤ The music with the final reveal was spot on. So happy you were about to bring your father’s art to life size. I so hope to see it in person some day. Thanks for sharing 😍😘

I can imagine in 2122 the chateau owners excitedly talking about the history of the hidden loo, the Chatelaine's artist father, the accomplished digital artist friend, the technology at their disposal in the 20 and 21st centuries, and the production of the tv show :) We can only imagine how they will be making and consuming art and entertainment then!

Stephanie, in your last shots of you talking about the room, I think the two (could be the same lady in a different crown and dress) ladies, looks very much like you. The blonde and big beauty blue eyes. I feel you may have been your daddy’s muse. The room is absolute beautiful, fun, dreamy, and perfection. Gerald is such a dear brother and Phillip, a true soulmate for you and then the Amazing Amauri, there are no words that can describe the genius of this man. The four of you are so amazing together. Oh and Steve, you genius little quite bird.❤ I love, love, the room and now want to do something with mine. Brilliance at it best.

@Merritt Baxley I would have thought the same thing... Except I realized if Gerry was 12 when it was painted then Stephanie wasn't even born yet, because Gerry is 14 years older than Steph. Maybe it's Mummy? Maybe Derick wished one of his characters into existence in the form of Stephanie lol?

Stephanie had been born by then, but Isabelle was in there, in the painting, I am sure. Stephanie's father didn't finish the painting of Stephanie with Lalande on a plate in her hand. Her serving up Lalande, so to speak, but he has left a gallery of work, that she can display one day. The Queen figure reflected in the mirror was fabulous. I am watching the revel again and again for the details in the painting.

I will never forget an architect, building a new dorm at my college, saying, "The most important element in any building is the element of surprise and delight!" And your videos! LOL! Promiscuous Adjectives! I have learned a great deal from your use of them. ...a nasty old table is "brilliant and magnificent!" You always see what things can be, not what they actually are, and everything is elevated into joy! Thank you! 🙏

Oh so exquisite!!! Your father was (is) so uniquely talented. From the images of his works, that you have so lovingly and respectfully shared with us, you have shown how he saw the most mundane to the spectacularly sublime aspects of humanity and has taken us, through his most talented artistry, into "his" view of the world that he saw as important to share with us. Stephanie, I thank you so very much for being the loving aire and steward to your father's talent through your omage to him by literily "magnifying" the scale of his talent through this project. You have shown his attention to the detail of his work. Might I suggest that you consider MAGNIFYING other pieces of his collection for the château renovation. It is my qualified opinion that your father created his art to be seen magnified. He thought as a "muralist," it is evident from the large scale of information that he would share in many of the pieces you have shared with us.. The images seem to continue beyond the boundaries of the frame!!! Please consider. Blessings. Doc Andre.

This is just wonderful! I felt emotional myself looking at your father's painting become life-size, and alive, in that room -- surrounded by those people and that world. I was rather sad to see the basin and toilet go it. I didn't want anything in there that covered up any part of the wallpaper! Just gorgeous, and I'm sure he is looking on and loving it all.
