If a dish could be pictured next to the dictionary definition of "comfort food," it would most likely be a warm, gooey plate of macaroni and cheese. Can anything lift someone's mood more quickly? The only problem is that it can be time-consuming and work intensive to make it from scratch. It's much easier to buy some frozen mac and cheese, and let the food scientists make it for you.

Bought party sized Stouffers and added gruyere, seasoned bread crumbs, and put in my own dish with fresh parsley for garnish. Took it to a party for buffet contribution and everyone loved it - best on the table 😉

I never understood how it's so good even though it's frozen . Some of the best . Seems like mac n cheese would go to shit once frozen but stouffer's is great somehow.

Agreed, it is decadent. They've been out lately when I go, so I get the Hatch Chile version. It's very good. But for the pure cheese overload orgasm, the Joe's Diner one is perfect.

OK, I live in Arizona, and sweat 2 or 3 gallons a day. ANY mac and cheese has fewer grams of sodium, than I sweat out in 10 minutes. I'll be voting for the highest sodium count. At least, this summer. steve

BEECHER'S has the best frozen mac & cheese but it's a little pricey, and their lasagna is not to bad either.

I just recently tried Amy's and found it to be good but soupy. Banquet Mac & cheese is flavorful and not soupy. I have tried Blake's and will not get it again because I figure that if I am going to splurge on calories, I am going to do it royally and not skimp by eating Blake's version. Most brands of frozen macaroni and cheese are pretty decent, and all of them are loaded with sodium if they contain a lot of cheddar cheese. My favorites are Trader Joe's brand and Stouffer's, but my real favorite is my own homemade from scratch Mac & cheese. Those others don't hold a candle to what I make.

Of those listed, Bob Evans is my favorite even though it doesn't actually come 'frozen.' I also like Stouffer's and Hormel. Although it's not straight up mac n' cheese, I like Devour's Chicken Cordon Blue mac-pasta. Banquet and Lean Cuisine are a waste of money and Marie Callender's is forgettable. Haven't tried the others.

I haven't bought that in a while. I don't know why. It is super duper cheesy tasty! I just cleaned out my freezer of way expired stuff so I think I'll head to TJ's today.

I always thought the Lean Cuisine Vermont White Cheddar macaroni and cheese wasn't all that bad. That is what I would usually buy unless it's the Amy's stuff or Blake's which also makes good pot pies.

I used to buy Stouffers until I found out it was owned by Nestle. Ulf Mark Schneider CEO of Nestle says "water is not a human right." They drain massive amounts of water from the land dropping the water table leaving wells in the area useless. Too bad, I liked quite a few of their products... but I won't be giving him any money.

I like Marie callendars southern fried chicken, but I hate they changed the way its made from 1990s. The package used to have packet of gravy you could leave off and a corn on the cob.

Because it's super duper easier and quicker than homemade, duh. When you can make homemade in four minutes for a late night spontaneous meal to soak up that alcohol, come give me that recipe.

The best mac & cheese I ever had,didn't come frozen and wasn't home made either. It was at the local truck stop and they baked it then cut it and set it on the plate like a piece of cake! None of that runny,soupy,watery stuff ! This was eggy,cheesy and chunky and had the consistency that reminded me of scalloped potatoes!

Best is the Mac and cheese from kindle that’s not frozen. It’s in fridge isle right before cheese. Best ready to go Mac and cheese out. Super fresh and cheese and again super fresh, and only 2.99-3.99 depending sale. But I think they made it perm 2.99 because every time I be been last I paid 2.99.

I want to point out everyone microwaves Mac and cheese totally wrong. I am serious. Would you use a large torch for two minutes on even a jumbo marshmallow???!?!! Yet, people do this with Mac and cheese and pizza pops etc. Microwave for say 35 seconds. Then you wait for heat to develop in the food. Like another half minute or a bit more. Then microwave for twenty seconds. And wait again. Each time you do the cycle, the amount of time microwaved gets reduced a little. You must stir from time to time, to mix the hot parts into all of it. Eventually, you will have perfect microwaved food and you will see it. Yes its longer and boring but the results after trying once will convince you to treat food microwaved, like marshmallows. Enjoy.
