Is Runza as good as everyone says? We tried every single one to find out! This Nebraska staple has been around since 1949. Will it taste like it?

I do work at the location and I am so glad you came! We are always glad to hear your feedback and constantly improve! Hope you come back. We also have a lot of other great food options. 😉

I've never been anywhere near Nebraska, but after learning about Runza I'm obsessed, this is a great overview and I hope to get to pull and order all 9 some day!

Merely seconds into this video i am excited because i haven't had a runza in 10 years and the building you pulled up to is new looking so i may have a chance to have them again.

Every runza review, not just yours, everyone gets it and then drives a distance home or to a hotel to eat and review. I'd say as a huge runza lover....eat that stuff right there while it's still hot/fresh/crisp, it loses it's pizzazz like many foods after 20 min. If I reviewed raising canes and drove home...that chicken and fries turns nasty soggy by the time I get home. One thing I notice that for a reviewer would throw off ratings is that not every trip even to the same location do you get the runza or fries cooked to the same level. For me I prefer the bread a little more done/a touch more golden hue. It was nice getting to see them all together for a change, I also didn't know I could get them all the time as some seem to hit the board "seasonally".

When I worked at Runza, I would always get a cheese Runza with extra cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. :)

Y’all are great! Dig the honesty! Does the Runza people know y’all critiqued them?

If you're ever up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan around Iron Mountain, stop and try a pasty from a local place. They're very good.

The good news is you can but Runza frozen and they travel well and reheat to Runza perfection. This is especially nice for ex-Nebraskans.

Wow, that’s a pretty underwhelmed assessment, which is fine and appreciated, but especially from locals. Many Omaha residents got here from elsewhere, for Me for its central location. Bierok is a regional sandwich style like this which was brought over with German immigrants that settled here. Also, in the Great Lakes region, European settlers brought pasties (past-ease, with a short ‘A’), also very similar cabbage or root veggies and meat encased by a bread. I actually really like RUNZA, I place them above McDs and BK both in overall quality, and the burgers at RUNZA are superior to either of the fast food biggies. RUNZA is up above fast food level with CULVERS around here. Superior fast food, but great dine in with CULVERS due to the super bonus of on site frozen custards of several excellent flavors. I personally find your rankings a little low, unless McD and BK are both below 5. Thank you.

I'm a Runza enthusiast and would have to disagree a bit with the above review (particularly because they did not eat the sandwiches right away when they were still hot). I give their food a big '9' overall, with the Swiss/Mushroom Runza version a strong '9.5.' Their Hamburgers are also quite good, and their onion rings are a big fat '10' for me (as they're among my favorites). The restaurant gets an 8.5 as well, where some customer service has some room for a 'little' improvement. Remember, this is a 'fast food' establishment, not a fancy, upscale restaurant. And besides, you won't get a delicious Runza anywhere else in the country except right here in Nebraska., especially several of them in Omaha. I'm a loyal fan, for sure!
