20:00 From the official MTG rules on the untap step: "502.3. Third, the active player determines which permanents they control will untap. Then they untap them all simultaneously. This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack. Normally, all of a player’s permanents untap, but effects can keep one or more of a player’s permanents from untapping." Technically, there is no rule stating that you can untap a player during the untap step, so you should have remained tapped until the end of the game

Isn't rule one of Magic that the cards change the rules of the game? Just watched a documentary about the beginning and Richard Garfield said the whole concept of the game is that the cards themselves change the rules of the game. So theoretically, he should have destroyed his library. Also, the bus card that let you gain control of all creatures, wouldn't they they, at end of turn, return to the original players hand with summoning sickness? Cuz he just went ahead and attacked. I thought that made the bus card that much doper. Remove all blockers, return them to as summoning sick attackers.

Rullor Dav does let you look at your whole deck on each of your upkeeps. "107.3. Many objects use the letter X as a placeholder for a number that needs to be determined. Some objects have abilities that define the value of X; the rest let their controller choose the value of X." "107.3f Sometimes X appears in the text of a spell or ability but not in a mana cost, alternative cost, additional cost, or activation cost. If the value of X isn’t defined, the controller of the spell or ability chooses the value of X at the appropriate time (either as it’s put on the stack or as it resolves)."

It's because they changed to using roborosewater as their card source instead of Urza AI. The bot behind Roborosewater isn't really any smarter than Urza AI, but the difference is that it's a curated collection - the Roborosewater team generates their own cards (or takes fan submissions) and then only posts the ones that are readable. They've also been doing events where they generate whole draft sets out of cards that follow Magic rules completely, called Spiral Chaos.

I really like the concept of Sleoing Hellwincer. A card that turns every creature you cast into a Lightning Bolt sounds like something you could legit build a nasty deck around. Though I think the most flavorful way to make it into a real card would be to make it a red Goblin Sleoing, the Hellwincer 1BR Legendary Creature - Goblin Artificer 2/2 Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if you cast it, sacrifice that creature and it deals 3 damage to any target. Desert Bus could be bonkers in a some aristocrats builds. Your opponent won't really get to use your creatures since they have summoning sickness, but you can sacrifice all their stuff.

Random thoughts: -Here (4:47) seems like it was designed to let you steal your opponent's half-and-half cards, which for 1WG can be a pretty kickass move. -If Reksig Gord Blinder (9:10) could be activated by its owner wherever it was on the board, it could be fun to combo with negative on-death effects after giving your opponent control of it.

6:58 It occurs to me that depending on the order that each creature in magic is added to the field you would instantly lose. Since every creature includes Phage, you'd lose unless you got something like Platinum Angel first. Then there's any creature that hits you for life loss / damage. Just something that popped into my head watching.
@Reverie42
@Reverie42 Жыл бұрын
Not quite. Effects that put multiple things in a zone do so simultaneously. Triggered abilities (like Phage) cannot resolve while another effect is still resolving, they go on the stack, so the Phage trigger wouldn't go off until later. Stacking all the ETB triggers would be horrendous though. Most likely the correct answer is to just stack your Worldgorger Dragon trigger over a board wipe. That will give you infinite mana and ETBs, which should be pretty easy to win the game with.
@randomusername1735
@randomusername1735 Жыл бұрын
@@Reverie42 I think it's easier to put all the triggers of creatures that deal damage to your opponents face on top of the stack and not care about the rest Edit: I'm looking through scryfall and seeing just how many problems would arise from static effects from creatures like that hatebear that stops ETB effects and I'm not even gonna try to figure it out

Oh man, I can't remember when I last laughed SO MUCH at a YT video. When I saw the intro for this video I got slightly paranoid if we soon actually get AI designed cards, but little did I know HOW outrageously terrible those cards would be lmao. I think there were only a handful of cards that even had a legit rules text, aside from those massive flavour fails. Thanks for this and happy to see Spice on here. They joked that Evidard Goler would put "each creature" onto the battlefield, i.e. every creature card in the game. But if that were the case, you would lose, due to Phage, the Untouchable, unless you have something to suppress it (e.g. Torpor Orb, a popular piece in Phage combospace).

@@fjordrig6264 I responded to a comment above, Phage's ability is an ETB trigger, and is only one of thousands you would have to stack and resolve. Given that you have every single creature in the game on the battlefield with haste, it would be trivial to just win the game before the Phage trigger could resolve anyway.
