There are so many sites to see on Kilkenny's Medieval Mile. We wish we could have spent a full two (or three) days exploring this charming town and its rich history. We did manage to fit in guided tours of Kilkenny Castle, St. Mary's Medieval Mile Museum, and The Smithwick's Experience. We cannot recommend each one enough. The stories shared by the guides are fascinating and add such richness to the experience.

Years ago, on our ventures in Ireland we stayed and toured parts of Kilkenny. I remember it raining, cold and not much else. Thank you for all we missed.🇨🇦❤️

I watched your video before going to Ireland this year. I did my own tour of Kilkenny while my tour group went to Waterford. It was 👍 awesome! I really enjoyed the Rothe Museum, St. Candice's Cathedral, and the Castle. I got lost on my way back to the hotel, but stopped at an Aldi's, and a girl gave me directions. I made it back safely. I loved Kilkenny! ❤️ Thanks for your video.

Kilkenny was my favorite place in Ireland....I wish you could have went in and had a drink at the hole in the wall pub!! I went in and had a drink! Love Kilkenny

You missed the shortcut into the beautiful Butler House garden. There’s a doorway in the wall just behind the design centre that leads you directly into them. It would’ve saved you a bit of walking.

Cool! Smithwicks has been my favourite go to Irish Red for many years. I have also enjoyed the odd Kilkenny cream ale, all from the comfort of my home here in Ontario. I guess I'm going to have to visit Kilkenny now.

I LOVE Kilkenny Cream Ale, but learned that IN Ireland, it's not very common. It's an export beer for them.

I really appreciate the research you guys put into your videos. The last time I was in Kilkenny was to see Bob Dylan and Neil Young play Nowlan Park in 2019. I hope there's a few more Ireland videos to come before you move on to your next location.

Thank you! Oddly as we read this comment, Neil Young was playing on our Alexa! :D We are a bit ahead of ourselves in real life and have about 4 more Ireland videos to edit and put out. However, we will be doing a "We moved to ____" this week because we're also doing a "Thanksgiving in ____" video and thought it'd be weird to not have the "We Moved to ____" video first. Was that TMI?! :D

In the late 70's the Castle was so under appreciated, there were plans to build a dog-food factory on the lawn! PS, if you get a chance, look up "half hanging". Mac

Life expectancies are a bit confusing in relation to medieval times.The low life expectancy is mostly because of child mortality whereas if you didn't die before your teens there was a good chance that you would live past 35.

Cromwell destroyed the one whole section of Kilkenny castle At one time it was an enclosed courtyard. Cromwell created mass destruction over the entire island and forced Irish Catholics to flee Ireland on his behalf indentured servitude he was a terrible human being
