hearing brooke sing come monday was not on my bingo card but i’m absolutely obsessed, as per usual.

Speaking from my experience working in restaurants where tipping is technically not mandatory (because it’s not a traditional sit down) but where management does pay you less than minimum wage. It is usually a tip pool situation, so all of the tips are pooled and then divided between all workers based on how many hours they worked within the pay period. So technically yes, the tips do make it to the person physically making your food, but also the cashier. Tipping culture is definitely getting out of hand, but it sucks as the workers who are now forced to rely on tips in jobs where it seems like tipping shouldn’t really be necessary.
