Africa gets in your skin ❤You’ll love it….

Nirvana here from Cape Town, South Africa I am so excited for you two going on this trip! Southern Africa is filled with beautiful views and fun-loving people. The sun is out as usual here in SA but it is freezing cold at the moment. if you guys are taking the N7 road to Namibia (the Cape to Namibia route) I would recommend stopping in Citrusdal and getting some of the best citrus fruits from one of the farm stalls, nearby is the breathtaking Cederberg great for hikes, breathtaking views, and ancient rock art. If you leave Cape Town on the R27 road and you are into cold water and water sports stopping in Bloubergstrand to do some surfing or Kite surfing, stopping at 'Big Bay' for something to eat, driving through the West Coast National Park and swimming in the incredible blue lagoon, and stopping in a small beautiful fishing town of Paternoster. Namibia is beautiful as well with so much to see! I recommend that on your way to the beautiful Siesreim/Sossusvlei area you take the D707 road, the views on this road is truly incredible! If you do find yourself in Cape Town for a few extra days and you have some free time I highly recommend coming to the Winelands of Stellenbosch and touring the beauty that is the Overberg area (where I am from) lots of beaches, ocean life, and chilled vibes. Have a great trip you two legends!

IT'S HAPPENING 🥳 Also... I'd recommend taking the cable car up to Table Mountain! The Garden Route is absolutely beautiful too - Plettenberg Bay is my favourite, such glorious beaches! (Keurboomstrand in particular). Also just a bit further up from that is the worlds highest bridge bungee jump! (216 metres). It's called Bloukrans River Bridge, situated in Tsitsikamma, Plettenberg Bay. If you're not feeling too adventurous then they also have the "bridge walk" where you basically walk in a mesh tunnel along/under the bridge at that height and can watch the jumpers 👍🏻 I've done both (never thought I'd do such a thing lol), it's definitely one of those things where you overcome your own mind. I know, sounds cringey, but true! 😅 Also there's the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town, lots to see there, i.e, markets, music, lots of shopping, restaurants, and lots of boat trips on offer (and helicopters) - you can take the hover craft boat (I believe it is) over to Robben Island (take a pill Trev 😉). Hope this helps! I haven't yet ventured any further of South Africa and so I look forward to following your wonderful adventures and wish you both safe, happy travels! If you get chance to see Victoria Falls in Zim then I'll be one happy chappy 😅 It's on my list, and it's my 30th next year too! You absolutely MUST stay at Kapishya hot springs in northern Zambia. It is hands down the best place I have stayed in Zambia. Hot springs, gorgeous gardens, river flowing along the property, multiple beautiful Dalmatians and other furry friends, and lovely hosts. Join in on the dinner in the evenings - the food is amazing and the social atmosphere is unparalleled. So much fun! And before you stay there, I highly recommend reading the book Africa House for the colonial history of the estate and the ancestors of Kapishya’s current owner Marc.

I'd highly recommend Village Cafe in Swakopmund, Namibia when heading that way! Vegan options, quirky little place with the sweetest people working there. I used to go nearly every day I could when there working on a film--such a welcoming place with delicious food. Also doggie friendly so you can get your pup fix as well. Spitzkoppe in Namibia is also a lovely place to camp and you can climb to the peak. Fun little animals in the area to watch, and you'll definitely see Meerkats on the way in. Be sure to visit a waterhole to watch the wildlife gather! Garub waterhole, Namib-Naukluft National Park is a good one if you want to avoid crowds, otherwise Etosha is a great choice. Have fun! :^)
