The best thing about beaches is they are extremely personal things. They are often linked to memories and moments in our lives. So you have every right to claim a beach as the best but more important is to never forget why it's the best. You are both on this journey together in life and you'll never experience the same things in the same way ever again. Wishing you both all the happiness in life.

North Queensland is where I grew up. No matter how far I go around the Earth, and these days I live in a skyscraper apartment, yet all day, everyday, there there is a little piece of the rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef that is with me in my heart all the time. You can leave North Queensland, but it never leaves you.

For the best coral you have to go to the outer reef - and that’s a long way out. However the Outer reef is closer to the coast in the Cairns region than the Whitsundays. When you get to Cairns you should go out again. From my experience in the past 2 years, reef trips are about $100pp cheaper than the Whitsundays. Try Sunlovers Cruises to Moore Reef. The best coral is at the edges of the roped off snorkling area - where it drops off into deeper water.
@stephenbedford1395

So glad that you guys enjoyed your Whitsundays trip... just another magic part of our beautiful country. There's more magic to come as you head north; please do visit the Daintree rainforest... it's the oldest living tropical rainforest in the world. And also do the Kuranda Skyrail just north of Cairns... you'll be blown away.

Yeah, there sure are better places on the reef to dive & snorkel, however you'll be spending several hours each way on a catamaran ferry just to get out there and back (which can be a very choppy ride too, surrounded by a lot of seasick passengers). Did a trip out to the reef & back from Cairnes a while ago and it seemed that we spent most of the day underway on the boat just motoring out there & back, with only a few short hours actually moored there for diving & snorkelling. Your experience offered so much more in terms of the sailing experience, the hike and beach experience etc so unless you're a hard-core experienced diver then I'd say what you did was a far better use of a day out (and far cheaper than many dive experiences to the outer reef). Just a tip if you're heading north through Bowen; you can literally snorkel over coral directly from the local beach, which is a great way to experience the reef literally for free. We stayed there at the local caravan park and would simply walk down to the beach for an early morning "reef" snorkel just to start the day off.

30 years ago, I drove my small family and my Aussie in-laws 12 hours with a rental minivan from Brisbane to Airlie Beach to see Great Barrier Reef the 1st time. I didn't know how I did that for driving 12 hours, also first time driving on the left side. Without GPS and cell phones, using AAA maps 😂😅. Anyway, we stayed there for 2 nights, and we went on different boat tour every day. Airlie Beach has been a secret vacation spot for Australians, I've helped them keeping this secret without telling anyone 😂😅 they let the foreigners go to Cairns instead. Just like we let the foreigners go to Ohau, then we go to Maui in Hawaii🤑😁😂 Watching your video, Whitsunday is still amazing likes 30 years ago. Although they added a Whitsunday sign and walking structure, it is still an inhabited island to keep its nature. 13:30 this was the beautiful image that burnt into my memory the day I was in Whitsunday 30 years ago. 😎 Very good video👍

Great vid. Once Captain Cook left Botany Bay (Sydney) and started sailing north (1770) he didn’t realise the size of the reef and was trapped inside the reef for months, culminating in hitting the reef and damaging his ship near what is now Cooktown. As stunning as the Queensland coast is it must have been a terrifying couple of months. Not sure if you’re heading to Cairns. Absolutely worth doing the Quicksilver day trip to the outer reef (Agincourt Reef), Kuranda, the sky rail, and the Daintree. If you go to the Daintree, look out for a casowary, - sort of like an emu in drag 😂. Also worth the trip to the Curtain fig tree. Cairns and the surrounding area is paradise.

It's been years since we visited Whitehaven and this vlog makes me want to go back. Great cinematography!👍 The drone shots are spectacular. Tia's effervescence is what makes these vlogs - simply adorable♥Cheveyo, your accent is great ... keep it going. Yes, the reef is better the further north you go but what most people don't realise is that you will not see the true colours of the coral during the day because the sunlight has the effect of diluting the colours. Night snorkelling/diving with a torch brings out the vibrancy of the colours. "Great Northern: The beer for up here".

Guys, you need to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas. You're probably paying the same however it's absolutely amazing. The colours, the number of fish, it's just like you see on TV, absolutely beautiful. One of the best, if not the best thing I've ever done. If you've come this far you can't not do it. Same type suits but the water is like you're in a bath, so warm. The life is so abundant everywhere you look. We even got to swim along with a turtle, and we saw "Nemo" fish in the little house. Absolutely fantastic.

If you haven't already passed it by, Townsville and Magnetic Island are worth a stop, made it there in 2017. In Townsville you can walk through Strand Park, lots of WW2 and Australian history. Castle Hill Lookout, you can drive or walk up and gives you a nice sunset view. Magnetic Island was a really nice day trip, walk on ferry is about $20 return. You can walk around for the whole day. Take the bus to one of the trail heads like Arthur Point, the Forts and hike for several hours. It was an interesting mix of WW2 stuff, views and koala's. Happy Travels!

how beautiful - your trip today brings back happy memories for me, my husband and I visited the Whitsundays in 1997 with our 6 month old baby, - that Whitehaven beach is incredible - so lovely to see it again on your video - the coral was amazing back then, and there were gazillions of colourful fish - we stayed at Hook Island and you could walk off the beach and swim straight into the coral reefs from the shore - they were incredible - I hope they are still as pristine. We also went up to Port Douglas and Cairns that trip. Last year we went snorkelling out from Port Douglas and I was shocked at the state of the reef there - it looked like the video you shared today pale and relatively lifeless :(. Whereas in 1997 it was bright and colourful. This is too sad and alarming.

Airlie is pronounced 'Air' (as in what you breathe) and 'lee' (as in a person's name). Aussies do not put an emphasis on R as the Americans do, which i think originally comes from the many Irish who emigrated to the USA. The Whitsunday Islands and area is beautiful! When we were there the whales came alongside the boat and I actually got scared that they would tip us over as they are huge. The whales migrate up and down the eastern coast of Oz.

Great vlog. Hopefully both of you had time to swim on the beach as well. Dont miss this if you're ever there. The water is so clear with schools of fish and mantle rays to see every now and then.

That's it. And if an American says 'rise up lights' fast, they're saying 'razor blades' in Australian pronunciation.

The reason why they take people to the parts of the reef that they go to is because there has been a lot of damage to the coral so they avoid those areas to let the reef heal. This brought back a lot of memories for me as I am Australian but I live in the Netherlands and my wife and i came back to Australia in 2014 and what you showed of White Beach was exactly what I remember. Awesome video guys.

Glad you got to see the northern end of whitehaven on a sunny day. I mentioned it one of your earlier videos, but you had probably already been there before i commented. 😊 there are much better snorkelling places, but usually the outer reef is the place to go for that. Glad you are splurging on a handful of bucket list items. 👍

Cool drone shots of the water and sand bars. Magnetic island is amazing with huge boulders right on the beach and great bush walks to secluded beaches and lookouts.

@OnePackWanderers - Hi Tia and Cheveyo. Love your video journal! It looks like you are in, or soon will be, in Townsville. If you are after a nice spot to enjoy a sunset without the bustle (its very busy here at the moment - school holidays and tourist season), I can recommend walking around the Jezzine Barracks area next to the Strand - Garrabara Lawn area and the adjacent boardwalk are particularly nice and have the bonus of a peaceful ocean waves as the soundtrack. Also if you after the “biggest”, check out Wallaman Falls (west of Ingham) - it’s the biggest single drop waterfall in Australia and a nice drive too.

Australia's beaches are amazing for various reasons, one being they vary in colour from white to bright red. Try to get to Roebuck Bay near Broome WA and check out the stunning beach there. It's a sensational red beach, and next to the bright blue water, it's a photographer's dream!

Another wonderful post from my favourite youtube vloggers. Seriously, I always look forward to your next vlog with anticipation - addictive! Your drone shots are just amazing! You've taken to this new activity like pros. I love that you love Australia too, and so great to see our beautiful country through your videos as I haven't been to the many places that you have featured in your videos 😅 Before I forget, not sure if you know that those coffee machines in servos are, most of the time, quite decent and costs a fraction to what they cost in cafes. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventures. Travel safe always you two, and keep enjoying life and each other ❤ PS I live in the Gold Coast and hope you can make it here one day😊

What an awesome day...I love it there!! I'm so glad you guys had great weather for that day in particular - gotta see Whitehaven in the sunlight right!! If you're heading north further - given you actually didn't visit the Great Barrier Reef at all (it's further east, outside of the Whitsunday Islands), maybe you can do a group day trip out of Cairns to the actual GBR!
