We've NEVER Planted Soybeans This Late!

Our farm is currently experiencing the wettest spring and summer in over 132 years! As a result, we're replanting parts of our fields that have drowned out for the THIRD TIME this season. With July in full swing, the soybeans we're planting now will likely serve more as a cover crop than a harvestable one.
In today's video, discover why we chose to replant instead of leaving the soil barren and learn about the impacts of the flooding on our farm's future.

Linda, a unit of soybean seeds is 140,000 individual soybeans. So in this video, I planted roughly 16 million soybeans!

Not a farmer so forgive my ignorance. How does it pencil economically to plant multiple times particularly with prices declining? Thanks

Appreciate the question. Short answer, it doesn't. Planting the soybeans this late in the year will not have a positive ROI, but building the soil health and minimizing weeds for years to come by doing so, will hopefully have a positive ROI.

Good heavy black soil, although less then ideal in the wettest of the last 132 years like this year

@@HiTech_Farmer As they say, "I feel your pain". Hope things work out, and it is really going to be interesting to see if you will be able to harvest a crop from these late planted soybeans.
