We went to this hotel and truly wanted to be as critical as possible due to the price point and the prestige that comes with the JW Marriott brand. For those two reasons, this hotel HAD to be immaculate and let us tell you, it was.
From the moment you drive in front of the entrance, you know you are entering luxury. From the valet to the reception staff, waiters, managers and everyone else, it takes no time to realize that this hotel offer an extremely elevated level of customer service.
In terms of facilities, the JW Marriott Nairobi has a stunning heated pool, sauna and steam room, gym, spa, meeting rooms and a great lounge for Bonvoy members which is completely free to join. In terms of dining, this hotel has six restaurants including Indian cuisine, Asian cuisine, Sport style restaurant, International Buffet, Pool Bar and a Café for beverages and pastries.
The room we've stayed in was a "Club level, Club Guest room, 1 King, Limited view" which is basically a standard king room but on a higher Club level floor with access to the member's lounge on the 24th floor that serve snacks and beverages all day with daily happy hours where they have appetizers, dessert and drinks. The lounge itself is worth the upgrade as you will be saving money on food and drinks in addition to have an exclusive space to relax and work.
Overall, the JW Marriott Nairobi is, to our opinion, the best chain hotel in Kenya and maybe even the best chain hotel in Africa.

Stayed there in May and it's amazing but the only issue was the AC didn't cool and the price, $360/night is way off. I travel and stay at Marriot properties all the time and for example the Bangkok JW Marriot is usually between $200-$230 and there is no comparison between Bangkok and Nairobi. Nairobi does have an issue with pricing hotels way too high (US Embassy and UN do not help) The Pub in the JW has great food and it is a great hotel, only complain,t which is a significant one is the price. Great video and Spot on as always!

You're right, pricing are crazy in Nairobi do the luxury travel as well with people going on those crazy safaris for 10s of thousands of dollar... We also had an issue with the lights but our AC was extra cold so I guess they just need time to get everything perfect since they literally just opened.

I stayed a few nights at both the JW Mariott in Praha and the Hilton Praha, & this NBO JW Mariott is significantly better and better quality from what I've seen on the video. Though, yeah, Praha is a much more beautiful & modern city and the stay per night in the Nairobi JW is more pricier (cost like 230 - 260 Euros in Praha). Good to see Nairobi meeting global standards. I can imagine in an year or two a major fortune 500 company hosting conferences or team building at the JW here, and having hundreds of their staff staying there at a time.

Just realized that there are more than one Hilton and Mariott hotels in Prague. I stayed at the Hilton in Florenc, Prague (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rbpobNFjkq23mYk.htmlsi=xXXsNjH1HQVaauNd) but the Mariott I stayed at is the one at the airport not the main one in the city. I still think that this JW Mariott Nairobi is at par (if not more).

They are both really good hotels. I would say the JW has the extra "international excellence feel" that comes with such a brand but I would decide with their respective location and what you are doing around there. But overall if nothing matters the JW has 6 restaurant, a heated pool, free sauna and steamed room and more!
