It's day 4 of Esther's senior trip and definitely our favorite of the entire trip. We visit the prettiest villages in France in the Alsace region and hike to FIVE ancient castles! It feels like a scene from a movie and it's a day we will never forget!

I'm french and hearing that a flammekueche is like a quesadillas, it's hard, it's my favorite meal haha😁 just cottage cheese with some bites of bacon, onions and a very very fine layer of bread dough (before it was done the day the bread was made, they used the remaining of the dough and took these basic ingredients they had all year long) enjoy your stay and I have no doubt you'll have beautiful pictures Esther 😁!

Flammenkueche is not french but german, Alsace has it because it was german most of its history.

You guys are in amazing shape to walk, hike, talk, climb mountain and stairs and film all at once. I am loving the trip. Thank you for taking us along. Congratulations to Esther on a lovely Senior Trip. Yummy, tarte flambée or Flammkuchen as we Germans say. Love that.

Wow so beautiful, and so much history...I lived in Europe for 7 years, while in the military... i loved traveling, to all the different countries... brings back a lot of memories.... thanks for sharing... lots of wonderful memories for you Esther... great choice, of places to visit...

I live about one hour away from there in Germany in the black forest, and we visit the "Elsass" as the area is called here in Germany very frequently. It's so much fun knowing exactly where you are and having visited those places too. The Elsass and the black forest have a lot of things in common. We both have the most gorgeous old castles and tiny mideval cities and our food is very similar. Even our dialects are so similar that we somehow are able to understand eo without actually speaking the other languages, but most of us are able to speak the other language anyways. We share a tight and loving bond. I absolutely love Mike's commentary, he is just plain hilarious. Thank you for taking us along on all your amazing travels.

Thank you for sharing. I’m blown away by how gorgeous that area of France is and how beautiful the buildings are up against that vivid blue cloudy sky. If I ever get to France, this is the area I will venture to. And also thank you for sharing your food choices with us. Ham and cheese pizza/flatbread. Oh my. It looked so good and I can just imagine how it would taste. What is better than good cheese!

It kinda looks like the little village in Beauty and the Beast. The next place looked like Downton Abbey. WOW that looked like a long hike to the castle. I have vertigo and climbed 98 steps up to the top of Shrine of the Sun in Colorado Springs. It had very narrow stairs with low rails. But I went all the way up went out on the balcony (was very windy). I think it's about 9,000 feet above sea level. Great trip, I'd love to visit there.

Love being able to accompany you on your adventures! It would be great to have a video on how you go about planning your trips. This spring had that surprise week of winterweather. But you enjoyed the jewels of the Alsace. Well hiked, these châteaux! Next time visit Bretagne. Check out Mont St Michel before and then after walled city St Malo head for Fort de la Latte , yes!, a fortress above the sea near the Cap Fréhel cliffs. Or les Hautes Alpes: walled city and fortress Briançon, the parc des Écrins around Vallouise, the St Véran highest village of France in the Queyras valley and Embrun, amongst other marvellous very high mountains and marvels.
