Even though I cannot fully understand the feeling, I’m very happy for others who are waiting for a child - and especially those who have been struggling with the issue. ❤ Life can be so unfair…some wait for years wishing and trying everything, some cannot ever have children of their own… then there are some tragic unwanted pregnancies (and it doesn’t help that it’s often very difficult to get a sterilization.) If I could I would give my ”ability” to have kids to someone who actually wishes for a child but cannot get pregnant. Too bad it’s not possible but that’s just life.

My cousin who's a sister to me went through the same with her husband. She tried for 7 years and it finally worked 1x but something happened at the six weeks and she lost it. It was incredibly painful watching her and her family (she had a 15 year at that time) but after her first child it was failure after failure. She tried invitro which is incredibly expensive ($50,000) for a one time chance to get pregnant taking crazy hormones and it didn't work. She was devastated and depressed and All along those 7 years and I would tell her, Pelps I'll have your baby but she never believed me or took it serious But I wasn't joking. I prayed I'd get the chance to give her that little miracle she wanted so much. Its been 7 years since I called them to let them they were pregnant. She's a school principle and lovely so her faculty at the school all knew her story and all she'd been through. When he went home this baby was hugely celebrated everywhere. Her neighbors had a full block party welcome home baby shower for her and baby. He is my biological child so it was the most difficult and equally rewarding gesture and self sacrifice act of love Ive been able to do for someone.

Totally agree, I was told I would have kids after years of trying, the next month I got pregnant with my 1st of 4 kids, but I never forgot the heartache of getting my period every month and having to tell my husband I wasn't pregnant, and watching others get pregnant without even trying or being in stable relationships was so painful.

My husband and I are children's church Pastors and we have a plethora of nieces and nephews whom we spoil. Random kids in the grocery store smile and wave at both of us... all the time... even while we are just minding our own business. Everyone tells us we would make great parents. We've been trying for 10 years, but haven't had a positive pregnancy test, yet. We've been tested and there is nothing that should be stopping us from getting pregnant. We don't have money for fertility treatments, so that isn't an option for us. Neither is adoption, at this time. So, we just continue spoiling our nieces and nephews and the kiddos from church. I think the reason why it seems that some of the best potential parents struggle with fertility is twofold. On one side, people who would make great parents and want kids actively try for a baby. These people are either successful or they experience fertility issues. The fertility issues are notable because the couple talks about wanting a baby and trying for a while. On the flip side, someone who wouldn't make a good parent or doesn't want children doesn't try to have children. They either end up pregnant and do a decent job of raising them (in the case of someone who simply wasn't planning to have kids, but ends up pregnant and then loves and nurtures their kiddos), or they are horrible parents and people know about it from seeing how they treat their children. Those in these two categories (who would make horrible parents or just don't want kids), who have fertility issues are not trying for a baby. So, they aren't getting tested for fertility, they aren't sharing with people that they have been unsuccessful in having a baby. They simply tell people they don't want kids or they live their lives however they want and nobody knows any different because they never have children. I think this is why it seems like so many people who would make great parents often struggle to get pregnant.

Sometimes a man who isn't quite the perfect partner turns out to be a perfect daddy for the sweet little creations he has put into the world. I could never have imagined how wonderful my husband would be with our children, but he was fearless in all the tasks that babies require to thrive, and I love him more in watching those relationships grow as our children age. If you ever become a father, you will find your heart has always been as big as it feels, but it was waiting for the right love to fill it all ♥

@@theresaakins2317 thank you! It could have been a by product of my father being an elementary school principal for nearly 30 years and I spent a LOT Of time around kids. And my late fiancés mother was a third grade teacher and occasionally I’d go in and read to them. I always had a real connection to the kids. And ever since she passed, I have given up on pursuing a family of my own. But, I absolutely respect that I’m not a father and as such I will not tell anyone how to raise their own children. I am prone to giving “advice”, but only in the most general manner. I still thank you that as it’s a huge compliment! 😁
