I hope you liked my country! The military installation at the start of the video is actually a prison. The “prison” after that is actually an airbase! It is also perfectly okay to chew gum, just don’t litter, and don’t sell them! If you do this again next time, do take the Park Connector Network (PCN), definitely way more picturesque!

I would imagine their aim was to take the shortest route possible from point A to point B, and that'd be 27 km (which is the route they took). But the PCN coast-to-coast trail is 36 km long! Definitely more picturesque, but I guess they planned their route in such a way that they could spend some time at the Marina Bay resort at the end of the day, after their walk, and that probably meant they'd have to take the shortest route possible.

I had a laugh at the part where you guys freaked out over the laws. It’s perfectly ok to bring and chew gum in Singapore, it’s just the sale or trade here that’s banned as the inconsiderate disposal of gum caused a huge mess before this law was implemented. Also perfectly ok to sing in the streets, we’ve got quite a few buskers!

I do feel that there were some missed opportunities like comparing the black and white carrot cake, going through MacRitchie Reservoir instead of Ang Mo Kio construction or going through Clarke quay. Kind of sad y’all didn’t explore the east and west of the country. The geylang area got a lot of food to offer. Also the laws are more relaxed than you think, everyone jaywalks here, you can consume gum all no problem. The egg yall cooked can be eaten. It’s called soft boiled egg, something we typically eat as singaporean breakfast. Next time y’all come to Singapore, y’all should have a Singaporean guide

There are park connectors in the east that passes through parks and beaches - specifically East Coast Park where you can see Marina Bay Sands in the distance. Most people cycle this route, but I reckon it would have been great to walk in the shades of trees, then be rewarded with seafood in East Coast Park.

Hi, Kara & Nate, welcome back to Singapore. It’s great to see my favourite KZfaqrs in my home country. It was a feat walking in the tropical heat for a whole day from North to South. It was a pity both of you missed the greenery route & was on concrete & construction area instead. Maybe next time, you can consider the 36 km Coast to Coast trail that goes past lots of parks & greenery. We have lots of Park Connectors trails (PCN) that link up almost the whole island. I’m sure it would be a much more pleasant & interesting walk. Just give a shout next time you are heading this way again & we can point you to nicer places to walk & explore. As for the chewing gum, Kara, don’t worry, you can go ahead & chew all you like. We are allowed to bring back chewing gum from overseas for personal consumption. It’s just that you can’t buy any here because it is not allowed to be sold here. The control is on the sale of chewing gum, not personal consumption. And also, Kara’s attire is perfectly fine. The outrage of modesty applies more to instances such as upskirt photo taking, molest, peeping toms & such, not so much of personal dressing style. Hope to see both of you swing by Singapore again. We have lots of other yummy food that you should try.

There are undoubtedly more picturesque waking routes from Woodlands to the CBD, via the Park Connector Network (PCN), but good on you guys for not just showing the usual tourist hotspots. The reality of Singapore, is that there are construction sites and roadworks everywhere all the time. This place will never be finished.

Love the sponsor! I kind of want you to do a real trekk! Like a hike or a trekk where you carry your own backpack and walk over multiple days. Like a week. I have been to the far north of Sweden and done that. Swam in icy rivers and fought of mosquitoes... Slept in tent and enjoyed a lot of spectacular views.

I just wanted to say that I don't usually buy stuff that I see on KZfaq videos but b/c I have a surgically altered stomach and therefore cannot take in as many nutrients as most others my interest was peaked when I saw your ad for AG1. I got it ... I tried it and it (so far) has been life-changing. I have more energy ... naturally. I feel great and I think it's only going to get better and stay that way. I finally feel like I have found a solution to my digestion issues. Thank you so much for the recommendation :)

As someone without any dietary restrictions I SO appreciate seeing you try a variety cultural foods! I use videos like this to guide what I try when I visit new countries, but a lot of the KZfaqrs I follow have gone vegan. Of course I’d still 1000% support you if you switch diets, but for now I just want to share how much I love watching you try foods that I would try too! ☺️

The thing about Singapore is that everything is always changing. Being a major business and tourism hub in the region, there is always going to be somewhere that is bigger, better, more flash. So in order to compete, you have to constantly make everything better and more attractive. Looking back at photos my family took when landing in SG, nearly 40 years ago, it is shocking how much things changed! I've only been away 3 years, but indeed, things have already changed!

Welcome back to Singapore! Kudos! For the walk, food stop, humour, etc. an interesting and not at all your typical travellers video of Singapore! BTW there are plenty of interesting bits of Singapore outside of our downtown but perhaps not for the typical tourist - eg zoo, botanical gardens & park connectors, public & private housings & more.

I love the Botanic Gardens. 11 times to Singapore and I cannot do a trip without visiting what I've come to think of as 'my' orchids and those cheeky otters that like playing on the slope above the lake. Always astounds me how few tourists I see there.
