How to Alaska

2 жыл бұрын

We head out of Seward, Alaska for my brother's bachelor party, a three night stay in Humpy Cove. We took two boats to accommodate this self guided Alaskan fishing trip and challenged each other to a tournament for the largest fish of each species. We caught tons of Rockfish and Salmon and a few nice Lingcod and Halibut. What an adventure!

Easiest way to tell is that silvers have very hard teeth, pink salmon have soft teeth.

I worked in Ketchikan Silver Lining Seafoods for a few summers, I've touched more salmon than you and your 100 (million) closest neighbors will see in your combined lifetimes. (Because i was the 'ace in the hole'... we pitched the fish (100,000 pounds per day) by hand into 250# buckets hoisted down andup, standing hip deep in freezing salmon slime in the frozen hold, one fish at a time, every morning, every boat, every tender... my hands...) By the way, I can tell the species by the texture and taste as well, blindfolded in a pitchblack hole. So there. Love your channel!
