20/30 is bad eyesight. The first number is the distance at which you can read something clearly and the second number is the distance at which a person with perfect 20/20 vision can read the same thing clearly. That means with 20/30, you have to be 20 feet from something to read it when most people can read it from 30 feet away. I have 20/12-14 (haven't had my eyes tested in probably close to a year now so I'm just guessing I've gone down from 20/12)
