Many of the mountains and towns around Australia are indigenous words! Some are a bit hard to pronounce but it’s pretty cool to go to a historical mountain where people so long ago would’ve watched the same sunset. That calm vibe of Brisbane is why I love it so much. Cities generally stress me out, but Brissy has always been an exception to that. If you ever do venture back, that 'brewery' you spotted under the Story Bridge has some of the City's best restaurants.

Honestly I LOVE BRISBANE I have been to 5 capitals in Australia and Brisbane is probably my favourite it's gorgeous and fun it's absolutely a vibe

Tia ... you anxiety in relation to big cities and crowds is well understood; brave of you to be so open about it. Once you hit the real Outback you will revel in its solitude and grandeur - the redness of the dirt, the blueness of the sky a night sky with more stars than you could ever imagine. Cities are a necessity that I tolerate but it is the Outback that feeds my soul.

It’s -4 in Canberra this morning! My mum’s family’s from Qld, Brisbane and Rocky, my grandad was a travelling Dalgetty’s (rural supplies) salesman in Central Qld, many summers as a kid we’d go to their house in Rocky, enjoy!

Thanks for visiting! It's a great place, I've lived here for years, Brisbane is basically in the sweet spot in Australia for weather, laid-back lifestyle, enough amenities and cultural events, relatively affordable housing, while still having decent job opportunities. The main thing that I think that needs a lot of improvement is better public transport, especially rail (ideally some underground metro rail Ines), but there is a lot of advocacy pushing public and active transport, and at least some projects are in construction at the moment.

This has been an extra special vlog because you shared such personal feelings. I have something similar and I am always grateful that I was born in Australia where I can get away from people relatively easily.

Having lived in Queensland myself for 6yrs, it's definitely more laid back. You should come back to Brisbane in 9yrs as Brisbane is hosting the 2032 Olympic Games 😊❤ I also live with Anxiety & Autism and I went over to Europe by myself in October last year and did a tour for 5 weeks. I was anxious about not knowing anyone, but i had a blast and can't wait to travel again soon.

Just a quick word re the harsher sun in Australia: The elliptical orbit of the Earth and our axial tilt combine to place the Southern Hemisphere closer to the sun during its summer months than the Northern Hemisphere. Coupled with our clearer atmospheric conditions, this means that Australians are exposed to up to 15% more UV than Europeans. There is of course a thinner ozone layer above Antarctica but it has less to do with that & more to do with our position in the Southern Hemisphere.✌🏼

Nothing better than enjoying a great coffee outside on a sunny winters day. I was hoping you would check out the architecture of the gorgeous “queenslander homes”. Also surprised when people by pass Stradbroke island or Moreton Island. It’s just stunning and a world heritage listed marine park. Ps understand the anxiety. I visited New York in 2016 and it was so hard to get out there everyday with so many people. I felt like I was having a panic attack every time I left my hotel room.

15:14 funny you should make a comparison to Vietnam; the Australian army’s Jungle Warfare centre was in Canungra, which is in the mountains behind the Gold Coast. That’s where our soldiers going to Vietnam were trained before they shipped out.

I was a flight attendant for Qantas flying international and had to leave after 8 years because I got a fear of flying 7 years in. The planes were safe, I trusted my pilots and fellow staff members but my anxiety hit. After leaving Qantas I worked in many places where flying was needed to get to my office in the US, UK and Europe and I even went back to Jetstar 20 years later, so it is something that we live with but push past so to make sure we don't miss out on life. Emotions and mind talk are real and I love your travels. BTW I am now living in Brisbane and feel content with my city. Safe travels

It's all systems go from here now that you have visited all major cities in Australia, time to get back to nature and enjoy the sheer beauty of this Country.When in Cairns please do your homework when booking Reef cruises to the islands on the Barrier Reef as prices can vary a bit. I do recommend Green island,you can walk around it if scuba diving is not your thing,great weather here at the moment ,30degs Celcius 👍

If you are going to Darwin, I have a tip for you. Every Thursday evening there is a sunset market at Mindil beach which is a must see. The food stalls are terrific. The tip is regarding the famous Darwin sunsets. Tourists having heard about the famous Darwin sunsets will watch the sun set into the sea and as soon as they see it set they turn around and leave as they have seen the sunset. NO! The actual show starts AFTER the sun has set. For the next 45 minutes to an hour you will see a beautiful sky with constantly changing colours that is even more spectacular if there have been recent bushfires as the smoke particles refract the sunlight. We lived in Darwin for 30 years and our Mindil market routine used to be to take a picnic table and camping chairs with a nice bottle of wine, buy food from the food trucks and enjoy the changing colours of the sky after sunset over dinner.

The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway offers ocean view gondola rides above a tropical rainforest. Port Douglas is another great location. South bank has massive free beach pools and greenery, nice walks the museum gallery of modern art, markets and pubs. Also mt tamborine is a nice area close enough to Brisbane. Roma street parklands are nice to see to

If you come to the Gold Coast. Best beaches, are Duranbah, Burleigh, Snapper Rocks, Nobbys beach, Currumbin. Carrara markets is on the Gold Coast and is Australia’s largest outdoor market cap. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday is Miami Marketta, you will love it. Really awesome bagel place called O Bagel in Broadbeach. Wildlife sanctuary in Currumbin you can feed the Rainbow Lorikeets (parrots), Burleigh lookout. Tallebudgera creek walk has platforms to walk all through the marsh/mud plains through the river.

Nature is the best cure for anxiety and I feel the same when I go to cities, whenever we go somewhere that is really built up we make sure to go to a wildlife park, mountain hike or even just a beach to unwind and let nature unclutter the brain. I think that we are lucky that most Australian cities are only half an hour away from a good nature walk. I'm absolutely loving watching you guys love our beautiful country.

My anxieties so bad there are periods where I rarely go out so getting to experience the world through videos like these are really invaluable.

Forgot to say if you haven’t already ventured too far north you should def visit the Gold Coast as it is Australia’s answer to Miami! Would be interested to hear what you think

I totally understand Tias anxiety in crowds. My beautiful misses knows that sometimes when we are shopping i just want to get out of there. Its a claustrophobic feeling. Its not rational but we aren't robots either.We are all wired different. But good on her for being so honest and decent about it. Most Aussies i feel are pretty understanding if they know you're struggling. I love their attitude and demeanor towards Australia and am so glad they are here enjoying themselves.would love to see them stay here. 😊

It seems like you are doing capital city’s and secondary touristy spots, which is good for people to see, and leaves you so much to see for your next trip. Just saying, you did miss one of the main “big things” with the Big Pineapple at Nambour

Glad you are having a good time, and getting to relax in nature. Don't worry Tia, everyone has issues they have to deal with. Cities can be quite stressful. :-) Not sure where you are now, or if you are heading to Cairns or going inland before then. if you do go to Cairns, the esplanade water area is nice and free. But the waterfalls around the atherton tablelands are great to get away from the crowds. (weekdays) you can swim at some of the waterfalls. I think you mentioned somewhere that you are not doing Far North QLD (FNQ) this trip.. so maybe something for another time.
