Konnichiwa, everyone!
This is day 2 of our summer train travel journey to 5 lesser known prefectures in Japan. We left Gifu to visit Shiga! At Shiga, we saw Hikone Castle and ate a SUPER DELICIOUS roast beef bowl! After that, we went straight to Tsuruga where we rented motorized bikes and made our way through the city. Our final stop was Fukui City in Fukui and I was ecstatic by the amount of dinosaurs in the area! My dreams came true!
As always, arigathankyouuuu for watching!
Hana

Japan should fund this channel. It makes us all wanna visit there and start spending our money on beef despite the inflation.

Awww thank you! Yea there’s just so much to see here in Japan aside from the trifecta that is Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. I think next time we’re going to try to get on a sleeper train and go to Tottori. Haha

@@whatchuHANAdo I had to look the challenge up but yes go for it! It looks good and could make a great video and we could all see then if you end up with an impressive stack of bowls at the end. 😁 But, will you make it to 100?🤔😂

me @2:03 : heh, they haven't seen Hikonyan I see. Yeah the hike up was horrible, in my case it was made worse when an obaa-san just zoomed past my panting ass D: Too bad you didn't have time for the castle museum and garden, for me the trifecta (castle, garden, museum) should be there to get the whole Hikone castle experience... which is topped by a Hikonyan performance haha. Hikone is indeed an interesting city to stay in, definitely an overnight stay for me. Cycling along Lake Biwa and around the city itself is so nice, a quiet pocket of small city Japan foreign tourists rarely see because they're too fixated on the golden route. Nice work, here's to seeing more vids!

I didn’t know much about Hikone at the time of going so I was pleasantly surprised! Hikone is definitely a place I would love to go back to! Cycling around Lake Biwa sounds like a dream! I would totally do that when we go back! Hahahaha older Japanese people are STRONG! We hike/climb a lot here in Japan and they always beat me hahaha I was sour about it the first time we went on a legit hike here in Japan but I’ve learned to accept that they are just strong hahaha We’ve met a lot of people over 60 going on difficult hikes! It’s amazing!

@@whatchuHANAdo yeah a fellow creator (Victor aka FrameofTravel here and in other platforms) mentioned your Tohoku wrap-up video in his Discord server as a good resource for a Tohoku trip. And I have to agree - fancy editing and drone shots and all that jazz are nice, but detailed information on how to get to places is much better LOL That said - please continue covering these smaller, off-the-golden-route-but-still-accessible-by-public-transport destinations because barely anyone does them, and these places deserve all the love. Thanks for the work and to more practical videos!

No way?? That’s so cool!! I must thank him somehow! So sweet of him to say that that video is a good resource. ☺️ I haven’t edited the cost recap for the latest travel that we did so that should be coming soon. 🙏🏼 Hahahah I know what you mean! But some people just really want to see Japan…and not exactly come here. A lot of tourists would not do the same trip as we did as well. 😅 we wish they would though! So many underrated prefectures! Thank you so much! We’ve been to 31/47 prefectures so far…we’re thinking of maybe hitting up Tottori next or Shikoku!
