I played Foreigner's songs from Double Vision on the radio in 1978. And interviewed Lou Gramm over the phone. He was a nice down to earth guy then just like in this video.

I remember listening to that first foreigner album with headphones when it came out, and it was amazing and different than anything I had heard at that time!

Long, Long Way From Home is my favorite Foreigner song. Wish it was longer.

He was one of rocks best for sure. He is one of my favorites. However his voice is going fast!! Age and medical issues can bring down even the best singers.

Hello and thank you for this! Lou is one of the greats. I’ve said so before, but the gentleman, Paul, I think,(forgive me if I got your name wrong), asks really interesting and intelligent questions and is always extremely courteous to his guests. It’s always a pleasure to watch one of his interviews. 👏👏👏👏

Agreed. One I always look forward to his interviews. Seems to get great tales out of his guests by being very courteous and disarming

For some reason, seeing my favorite rock stars look this old is more disturbing than seeing my parents this old…Or myself, for that matter.

That Foreigner debut album usually isn't mentioned as one of the greatest debuts in history. It should be.

They kind of got lost in the shuffle. The Cars, Boston and Van Halen all released their debuts within a year of Foreigner.

I saw the second Foreigner concert (1st album tour) in the U.S. May 11, 1977 with Heart in Allentown, Pa. at Ag Hall. Forget who played first. I was very impressed with them because to me Foreigner live reminded me of the first Cactus album to some degree because they played hard rock very convincingly that night and loud. Loved Mick Jones on guitar with the Les Paul through Marshall’s setup that was the norm then. Monday I went and bought the album and was to a point let down by it since even then it was more synth driven and kind kept in the box of more of the “pop” version of hard rock which was disappointing to me. They were all good songs and I did listen to the album quite a bit but related only to their guitar driven hard rock stuff that came later.

Back in the early 2000s I had a Messenger email buddy named Fire Brunette who lived in Paris, France. She grew up with Al Greenwood. Chick was wild telling me stories about the band. But man she did not like Mick Jones at all. I was like wow did this guy personally mess you over? she was that strong
