We recently conquered hiking Mount Kilimanjaro in October and wanted to share what we wish we had packed and what we wete glad we brought .

* We summited in October, 2023.
* Mt. Kilimanjaro is located in Tanzania, Africa.
* It is the tallest free standing mountain in the World!
* 19,341 ft Elevation.
* We chose the Lemosho Route. We hiked about 42 miles in 8 days. This route has the highest success rate.
* The company we chose to go with was Peak Planet. They were absolutely awesome and we do recommend them.
* This was one of the most difficult hikes we have done and learned a lot from our experience.

Ambien is a big no no at altitude. It depresses breathing and reduces oxygen intake. This works against proper acclimatizing. Melatonin is fine but no prescription sleep meds.

Thanks for sharing....wrote down a few items we don't have on our lists yet. Planning to go next year with Peak Planet, same route. Would love a video on your packing lists. All the clothing is confusing, curious what you brought.
