I watch this entire series and you're wrong about the end. She actually did go over the edge of the building and he Dove after her and even though he couldn't reach her in time on his own, his arm extended slightly and he was able to grab her. Migi helped him one last time

Anyway you don't see migi but in his mind migi is talking about humans caring for living creatures and then starts complaining about getting tired from holding her and she is dangling from his arm before he pulls her up on the roof again.

Both this anime and tokyo ghoul came out around the same time, Although the other one was more popular, This one definitely left an impression on you, They're very similar and its history is very unique, Based on a manga going back to the 90's, It definitely has a unique story that makes you want to watch more every time you see it.
