Do you have weak fingers? Do your fingers have the strength to act on their own and fret those strings securely? Everyone's hand and fingers are unique but there are some basics things that are true for most people.
Put your hands into a relaxed fists and place them together, touching at the fingers. Lift the index finger of each hand by themselves. Then do the same with the middle fingers. Next try the pinkies and finally the ring fingers.
Most people have difficulty raising the ring fingers. This is because, in most people's hands, the ring & pinkie fingers share some tendons. Also, the nerves that send commands to those fingers are intertwined instead of going solely to one finger. Third, there is not a dedicated muscle for the ring finger, as there are for the other fingers.
MOST people's hands are this way. Some have an easier time with that finger but most are like this.
This is why the 3rd finger is where the wedding band is placed. Those fingers can't stand on their ow so they need a partner for support. This id how the finger is called the "ring" finger.
