I often favour non conventional weapons and have done instruments sometimes, but I can't find myself liking instruments used as blunt objects that clearly would break, because I still like logic to it and I don't like instruments being broken haha. AHH!! Yeah!! This is a primary example that LOADS of people should know. Have you seen the Super Broly and Super Hero movies? Broly and Cheelai fit into my fave character dynamic. That and it was honestly such a good movie regardless. To keep this very spoiler light in case you haven’t seen either film: I find it entertaining that Frieza got his ass whopped for a good hour by Broly towards the end of the movie. And they decided to make DB Super Hero a Gohan movie halfway through it despite it originally being about Piccolo. They failed IMO, because I didn’t even know that’s what the plan was until my fiancé showed. Like?? I said to my fiancé “It was supposed to be a Gohan movie? He showed up like- 5 times for a total of MAYBE 5 minutes before the end fight..??”

Literally if you break a guitar you can make a weapon, and even of you don't break it, it's still pretty strong.

This actually an Excellent storytelling technique. It falls under "dont judge a book by it's cover" if we're going with trope names. But often having the most powerful/strongest character appear less intimidating/weak in the eyes of others lends credence to their true power when it's revealed, and often leads the audience to respect the character more. Think Uncle Iroh, or The Doctor, or as example here, any bardic type character that uses wit and performance, often because they've seen the brutslity of weapons and aren't about that life.

@@wilmerreinholdsson1181 why don’t the oc just play some magical guitar weapon and the shockwaves/sound attack comes out? Like slide your hand against the strings of said instrument hard enough that it creates some sort of attack which ranges from sonic blasts, shockwaves, or anything that u can come up with. Also the sound doesn’t necessarily just have to be a single noise. There can be a tune, rhythm or a theme when the attack is activated

One of my OCs literally only uses a shackle and the bit of chain attached to it that he has from his time escaping prison. He can wipe the floor with a SWAT team. Oh and another uses an umbrella. I mean, whacking, poking, parrying, can all be done with a decent 'brella. We then have my character that uses a flute. And ofcourse I still have my blind cultist fish that uses a trident that's a head taller than her. Her kill-count? 43. She looks frail as hell and can still carry that thing around like it's a normal walking stick. I love my 'looks weak, is way too strong' characters.

The first character is so beautiful. Maybe it’s due to recognizing the clothes, but something about their stance, their way of holding the instrument, their gaze. It is a truly good day to view such good art, made by a truly great person.

Had a character once that was incredibly strong looking and wielded a giant Anchor but literally did not believe in violence as a solution, the physique and weapon alone were simply intimidation. They were literally just a sweetheart cinnamon roll almost anywhere but most people would assume (Big Man + Giant Anchor = Deadly Murder Hobo) but it's more like Shredded Friendly Himbo.

I mean...I have an OC who's a siren. She uses her singing abilities and is a good manipulator without them either way. What also makes her strong is that she has connections with other OCs. She knows how to wield weapons but she prefers not to.

I remembered Wei Wu Xian, from Mo Dao Zu Shi. He was one of the strongest and coolest spellcasters, could raise the dead, made an incredible number of discoveries, and his weapon was... the Flute.
