I saw some older videos of your yard and loft . I have to say I like the way you improve the pathways. The inside and out of the loft have upgraded nicely too.

That youngsters colour looks very much like a bronze as we called them here in northern ireland......beautiful youngster

You do a really good job handling your birds. From your breeding to how you handle the young in or out of the coop really surprises me. How many of the young are you planning to putting into young the bird races? That’s if the races arnt canceled.

Thanks! I try to spend a lot of time with them and get them as used to me as possible. If the racing season goes as planned, i will be putting every bird i have into the races.

Once they start ranging for a week or so start training them then you will see what quality of bird you have

Thank you very much! Most of the breeders were homed and raced in a completely different state so i dont let them out.

I know you've been asked this question a million times, but when do you know when its time to wean? When they are fully feathered? when they're kicked out of the nest by the parents? or ???

Normally wean your youngsters when they're starting to eat and drink for themselves...I fed mine from a pot while still in nestbox

First and second round i always wean when they are 25 days old and by then they are fully feathered under the wing. 3rd round i wait a little bit longer so that they can learn to eat better on their own because by then theres a lot of young birds in the loft and the competition for food is high.

Mark - Isn't that another tortoise shell...the one that's the nest mate to the great-looking white flight blue bar splash? By the way, is the other tortoise shell young bird from the same pair of parents as this younger tortoise shell?

Looking back, I think you said the parents of the "first" tortoise shell are the blue check male and the red female. Anyway, I think the other is also going to be a tortoise shell. Time will tell. Thanks for another good video. I always look forward to your videos!
